I just wanna say you’ve gotten me out of my reading rut (which has been four years long- my undergraduate degree has kept me busy and made me forget how much I love to read) and I’ve now started a book a week reading challenge for the year! 4 down, 40+ to go!
Sorry to point this out, but I think you're confusing The Fifth Season with the first book in The Inheritance Trilogy, also by the same author. Hope you're in for an amazing surprise with The Fifth Season! :)
I wasn’t a fan of the inheritance trilogy. I loved the first book but thought the last two fell flat. Just me though. I haven’t tried any of the authors other books.
Destiny Davis those are great books. There's a trilogy by N.K Jemison called the inheritance trilogy and I can't say I have the same feelings about those books haha
Yayyyy a book shopping vlog, how exciting! There aren't a lot of bookshops near me and I'd love to visit Books Are Magic some day but I live a distance way so glad I get to see it from your perspective. So nice of Clay to go with and help you carry books! Such a great haul, happy reading!
I read a little sample of The Field Guide to the North American Teenager and it had me hooked right from the very beginning. I’m definitely going to buy myself a copy. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it.
The Boneless Mercies is amazing, but I just want to let you know that the Mercies actually assist people in killing themselves when they no longer want to live and they no longer want to deal in death so then they go hunt a monster. I just wanted to tell you so you wouldn’t be disappointed or confused when you start it because it’s a really good book and I love it.
This series was super fun, but I'm not going to lie, I'm glad it's over. Lol the plot was awesome and super engaging, but all the rich people bullshit was a lot to get through at times lol. I read all three within about a week or so.
I've just finished My Brilliant Friend and utterly enojoyed it! I'm Italian and I read it in Italian - duh - and it totally gripped me from the start til the very end. I'm on my library waiting list now to check out the second one and can't wait.. Hope you enjoy the story as well!
I wish I could like your videos several times. I'd like to thank you because you explain synopsises so well and always make me want to read books I most likely would not have picked up. THANK YOU 🤗🙌
If you like "Evermore" I highly recommend the 2011 movie "In Time". Literally, the same plot/idea of time being currency, but in a modern setting. (I haven't seen it since it came out, but I remember it being very entertaining.)
Both read and watched Crazy Rich Asians. I'd say they're not alike, but they both have great qualities to them. The movie is definitely a romcom and the book is satirical. Both are wonderful in their own ways. Even the director and the author says they're more like companion pieces instead of the movie being a true adaptation of the book, and I definitely agree with that. I'm a fan of both. The movie did an excellent job on their casting (among other things) as well!
I normally go to my local library to buy books. Every holiday, then have a half off sale on their old books. I was able to find a Reader's Digest book from 1969, with the title "Great Stories for Young Readers" for only a dollar.
I just finished a large expanse of sea and flew through it! I also just start the fifth season 😂 definitely confusing in the beginning, but I want to stick with it and see what happens
Watching your vlogs in quarantine is giving me my fix! Also, I loved going to the Barnes and Noble in New York City a few months ago! I thought of you haha!
Love following your channel! I'm a fellow New Yorker...and I love Book Culture! They have a few locations, but my favorite is the one by the museum of natural history! You should check it out if you haven't before! Happy reading and happy weekend!
Just thought, in case you didn't know, I'd tell you that the 6th book in the Queen's Thief series is coming out on March 19th called Return of the Thief. I know you were worried it wasn't going to come out for a long time.
After you gave 5/5 stars to pride and prejudice I picked it up asap and read it in a day!! And oh boy ! I feel like so stupid that it did not read it before. It has now become my favourite😁😁
You should read the rest of them! Emma is lovely (also bbc has made an equally lovely adaption series in 2008, so gOOD), sense and sensibility will make you weeeep and northanger abbey is such a cute fast read. Also not by jane austen, but absolutely on par, jane eyre. Ohhh maaan. This book will make you feel all the feelings
What a nice Vlog ^^ seems so natural, going book shopping with your boyfriend ❤ you are the cutest couple ^.^ All the favourites in one place - Clay: i'm one of the favs. ^^ And again your book choices are great! I also wanna read North American Teenager ;)
Weren't there any baskets in Books are Magic? Still such a beautiful bookstore and I would love to see more footages. Shoutout from the Philippines. I hope I visit Brooklyn, NYC, NY.
I love you videos gets me so excited to continue reading different genres thank you! love everything about you and your cute family. Blessings, Love and Peace.
The Assassination of Bragwain Spurge was nominated for the National Book Award! And is by the same author as Feed! It was very strange and has a very dry humor to it.
I JUST happened to come across that Brian Sanderson book at the store and my fiancé said he might read it. He’s mostly a comic book reader, so it was very exciting for me that he considered reading a novel 💕📚
I have the exact same sentiments about the Fifth Season, I read it, liked it, but didn't love it. I'd also like to reread it just to see if I missed something.
Sadly, The Boneless Mercies was one of the worst books I read last year- but I hope you enjoy all the others in the haul because they sound AMAZING!! love you x
Ooh yes I also recently picked up a signed copy of A Very Large Expanse of Sea and am so looking forward to reading it! It seems like a very important novel for sure! P.S. This seems like it was a fun little bookish adventure and it was fun to watch as well! 😊
I know it's weird to request content, but could you please do a video of "bookstores to visit in nyc" or something like that? I'll be going there end of March and I need recommendations (besides Strand and Barnes & Noble) on what to check out since I'm only there for a limited time :)
@@kathrynjoy7 I love the Housing Works Bookstore :D planning to revisit them when I go there. and thanks for your recommendations! will definitely check them out
Please read the Brangwain Spurge book and review it.. it sounds really weird and quirky and im super intrested to know if its good. Please do a review or a wrap up on it asap! 😃😁

Also you should really read Circe and The Song of Achilles! Both are now my favourite books of all time!
This is a brick not a book😂😂
When she said “I came, I went, I shopped and now it’s time to haul” she missed the chance to say “I came, I spent, I haul” haha!!
Sorry to point this out, but I think you're confusing The Fifth Season with the first book in The Inheritance Trilogy, also by the same author. Hope you're in for an amazing surprise with The Fifth Season! :)
I thought you were talking about the inheritance cycle by paolini and i was soo confused for a minute lol
I wasn’t a fan of the inheritance trilogy. I loved the first book but thought the last two fell flat. Just me though. I haven’t tried any of the authors other books.
@@jareddavis554 I have the inheritance cycle books 1-4 by Christopher paolini

Crazy Rich Asians is supah lit!
I am reading Rich People Problems right now. It is the 3rd book in the Crazy Rich Asians series written by Kevin Kwan.
This series was super fun, but I'm not going to lie, I'm glad it's over. Lol the plot was awesome and super engaging, but all the rich people bullshit was a lot to get through at times lol. I read all three within about a week or so.

I'm so glad youre giving The Fifth Season another try! you might be a little off about the synopsis tho haha^^
I’m sick right now, and this really cheered me up!
You were referencing printmaker Albrecht Durer and his contemporaries when you discussed the pictures in the Assassination of Brangwain Spurge
Beautiful 📚 bookstore
A Very Large Expanse of Sea is so good especially for those who are not so into contemporary! Everything is just perfect! Highly recommended👏💯
