just got the notif for this one for some reason. my brother owns a diesel shop in weatherford. but its quite the hike for a week night, we are coming from east of dallas.
The fact you took off the sway bar link like nothing mean while my rotates indefinitely I even damage the bushing using the lock pliers . I think it’s because my van has after market sway bar links
@@definitelynotmechanics I ordered the OEM ones and I will cut the bolts on the old one to remove it . I have the same coil over set up great video bro
How close to the Honda Pilot particularly the 08 is this? I'm going to attempt to make the coilover setup more comfortable of a ride since factory was too loose for my liking and lowered is not practical for winter where I am with potholes. So I'm looking for a middle ground with a bit of lower for tighter steering and better feel on highway but with some comfort. I've replaced factory suspension never tinkered with the coilovers. So ur vid has value just curious for my application.
Question1? Does the ride feel any bouncy in the rear? 2nd question how are your cv axles holding up? Reason I ask is bc my axles are seeping grease out but no tears on the boots.
I'm glad you responded back. Yes definitely my boots look like they are from 2004 lol. I was saying cause I'm as low as you and well wanted to know if someone out there had issues.
No. Its a “divorced” setup in the rear. So the spring is separate of the shock, rather than the macpherson style strut on the front. When you buy a coilover kit it will come with your rear shocks and springs. You will need the adjustable rear upper links though.
still tweaking them here and there. they ride pretty good. i mainly got these for the option to upgrade to air at the end of summer. imo bc coilovers ride better and have dampening adjustment, whereas these do not.
Awesome video.. It absolutely helped me and it made me a lot more confident on installing my coilovers that i had for 7 mos.. lol.. But, is the process the same for a 2005 touring..? Pls shed some light on me.. Thanks in advance.. any info would help..
its similar. if you look up a video on factory 05 strut replacement it will give you the procedure and the tips from this video will still help you along the way.
How do i adjust the height for the rear.. Do i adjust on the springs or the shocks...? On a 2005 Honda Odyssey..? Any info is greatly appreciated.. thanks again..
Thanks.. Bro.. i will let u know once i finish with my adjustments.. Because in Oahu, Hawaii we have to get something called a "SAFETY CHECK" once a year.. where they check for ride height and if vehicle is too low.. they wont pass it.. and cops will pull us over issue a citation for a expired "SAFETY CHECK" smh.. so thank you..
I rolled the fenders a little in the front and rear for the more aggressive offset and i hauled a full vendor booth setup to shows up to 4.5 hrs away. I have kids too and we took it on roadtrips a few times. No issues. It depends on you wheel offset and tire size mostly, also how far you adjust your springs.
I have truhart coil overs too but how did you know where to place the adjustable sway bar bracket link thing on the strut. I put my sway bar end links without any load and messed them up. Bought new ones and replaced them this time under load but didn’t know how high or low on the strut that end link bracket needed to be. Please help
What's the size on your rims n tires? I want to lower my odyssey but I believe I may have to change my rims n tires because right now they're sticking out about and inch or 2. Any tips on that?
What size are those rims? I lowered my 2000 Odyssey with lowered springs because I wasn't sure what coil overs were best but my rims are 18x8.5 Tsw sprints 30 offset except the front drivers side which is now a 40 offset because the 30 offset rim cracked on the spoke so I had to replace a 2 year old rim with the last sprint tsw in 40 offset had in stock since it was discontinued
So I’m running the exact setup on a 07 odyssey and I’m wondering could I run the rear on just the spring with no center part or the rings ? Bc rn it with the black part and no rings but want to see if it would ride ok without the centerpiece so I could be a extra inch lower in the rear
I wouldnt run it without the perch. These springs were not designed to run without a flat perch. I would suggest custom springs or air if you really wanna get that low.
God I'm glad I have a slammed oddy I love seeing more
Bro y’all should come to the Monday night meet here in weatherford and show your van off lol keep up the good work

I'm still trying to convince my wife to let me bag our 2011 Odyssey
its bags, just make sure its adjusted to stock height when you get home every day. 😂😂
Let the man bag the oddy.. 👊😁👌
Looks sick.
SHHEEEESH! That's it right there..
The best car
Dude, I'm so close to subscribing. LOL What time brand are those?...
This just makes me want to take apart the suspension on the Civic lmao

mine are aftermarket too. lol

Could just be old boots losing tension. I didnt have an issue with cv axles on this one.

Is the alan the only thing that locks the end link thing?
Stupid question but for the rears do I need lowering springs and coilovers?

Hello, maybe you can get me some coilovers, since in Mexico it is impossible. stay tuned
How do they ride? Was looking into getting these for my 04 Ody

Both. Adjust the spring where you want the height and adjust the shock so its not bottoming out.

What size tires are you running on it
🔥
any rub? I have kids and do camping and fishing trips with the whole family. like to know if that set up will rub or not

I have a 1 gen odyssey would 2gen odyssey parts fit my 1 gen? Like Coilovers etc
No but there is a bug market for first gens.

Its explained in the video dude. Like 10:20 mark or so.
also do yoy live in a state that has snow for winter? if so how's the traction with that set up?
I live in texas so i have no idea about traction in snow. Lol
What size wheels and tires did you use?
235/35/20 - 20x9
Okay cool I found a set of Ford Taurus SHO Wheels 20 in same bolt pattern but one used tire that same size now I can go buy a new set, thanks!
What's the size on your rims n tires?
I want to lower my odyssey but I believe I may have to change my rims n tires because right now they're sticking out about and inch or 2. Any tips on that?
20x8 +35 with a 235/35/20

Are you wearing MTB shoes??

I had a pair when I was riding! Loved them.
they look pretty cool too

When yall wanna come get this puppy driving straight? 😜 (rob with drj autolabs 😉)
i just finally got it all adjusted after breaking a shock. im waiting to see if they will warranty it before i get it aligned.
