Good info and some good food for thought. I only wish I had the challenges you deal with on cover crops. lol. I live in Alaska with a very short growing season in our high tunnels. I specialize in heirloom tomatoes and strawberries and if we are lucky we may get a 125 day season. Due to our long cold winters (8 months) and lack of winter sunlight it is impossible to even think about trying to germinate a winter cover crop. On Jan 1st, the sun is only 9 degrees off of the horizon. We harvest tomatoes right up to the first frost and it is not uncommon to be pulling frozen plants during clean up. I think my only real option is to take 20% of my beds out of rotation and go with summer cover crops. I had this same conversation with our local NRCS rep, the other day and she is unaware of anyone using cover crops in high tunnels or any information on best varieties to use.
