Springer as a character is one of my favorites! Loved him in the movie, and enjoyed his continued appearances in the series. His G1 toy wasn't great, but the Thrilling 30 release of 2012 was amazing and remains one of my favorites in my current collection!
You forgot to pull the cowling on the top back when transformed him into car mode the other thing is you called his rotor wing assembly propellers other than that excellent review I love Springer he is my favorite Autobot
Hey...I was Artillery, I don't know Helicopters.
I got called out a few times for the mistransformation. Lesson learned, just don't grab a figure off your shelf and put it in front of the camera...practice first.

I like how the animated version makes his sides go back and forth between modes ot helps separate the 2 modes
Springer is one of my favorites. Before you use that chrome pen, you may want to remove ALL the old chrome and clean the plastic to prepare it for best results.
That's one I got when I was seven for Christmas in 86,the only thing I could remember was the helicopter blade folded into a sword.
Dude you're knocking it out of the park with your list! I've always loved springer, but unfortunately haven't gotten a single mold of him yet . I also love the episode where springer,magnus,hotrod,and arcee become human, and if I'm correct it's the episode where they pseudo cross over with gi Joe with cobra commander called snake . looking forward to the next vid brother! \m/

The grey piece behind the cockpit slides further back in car mode to fill in the back a bit. Makes it Look a little better. I restored my Springer from a junker and he now looks perfect! took a year just to find his sword! The Generations Springer though is an amazing update :)

Loved this as a kid, Ihad it 2nd hand and never had the sword but mine was the original with the diecast chest / car/chopper front.
I haven’t navigated the Shapeways site, but you would think someone would have built pieces to cover up the arms (Octane’s too).
Btw, for that chrome pen to work without it getting dulled: A) let it dry for a week, and B)seal it with Pledge Future Shine. Yes, it sounds crazy, but it works wonders.

Good stuff as always. I think there is one standout triple changer toy that is significantly better than the rest, and you haven't covered him yet so we'll see if you agree soon... BTW we've got to find a way to get you to see all the UK comics as they were amazing and (apart from the last couple of years where clearly it was dying off) are what got me into Transformers more than any other medium.

GREAT REVIEW PATRIOT PRIME!!!!!!!!!!!!! The G1 Springer toy is not great, and I personally think Springer is a prime example of a G1 Transformers character where the animation model in the cartoon was better looking then the toy was. :P Also, that is a fantastic villains shirt you have, Megatron, Mumm-Ra, Shredder, Cobra Commander, and Skeletor still remain among the most evil cartoon villains ever created. ;D Even though Megatron is my favorite, the ones I enjoy are Cobra Commander and Skeletor since their voices are the easiest I am capable of imitating. :) Thank you once again for an outstanding video, I am really enjoying your thoughts on the Triple Changers. ;D

Great review, Patriot Prime. There’s an all plastic variant of this figure so I’m wondering if the handles on the gun from the different variants are different sizes. Perhaps that’s why yours doesn’t peg in as tight as other specimens that I’ve seen. Either way, I think this is a pretty cool toy given the age of the design. Cheers M

The car mode is atrocious, but he is a good one for the shelf.
honestly all i saw out of his vehicle modes was "HE CAN CHANGE INTO A HELICOPTER" you mean a car with a sword on top? "HE CAN CHANGE INTO A CAR" you mean Sargent slaughter's remote control skateboard? "AND A ROBOT" that is obviously a ninja turtle wearing cardboard boxes

I know that a lot of people love that Generations Springer, but I honestly think it looks like a pretty bad figure compared to Siege Springer.
Really? You rated Sandstorm above Springer? Guess I'll have to wait and see why since I'm even less familiar with his figure than I was with Springer's.

Sorry you transformed the car mode wrong. The back extends and it makes it better. Also the figure hands goes down not up, and his back extends again as you transform him to robot mode... But it looks better thatway, i also transform him like that, its more ballanced.
That is what happens when you just pull a bot of the shelf after about 8 years and start filming. I've learned to transform them a couple of times beforehand now.

I know this is a very unpopular opinion, but I honestly hate this guy. I always found him very bland as a character (definitely my least favorite character introduced in the 86 movie) and the toy, although decent looking, isn't that outstanding.

Are you familiar with the comic versions of this guy?
@@legoawcstopmotioner9435 Barely, but not much. Only a bit of Marvel UK and it's been a while since I read any of IDW's Wreckers stuff (and even then didn't get too far), but the character doesn't resonate with me at all. I know he is popular, but I just never found anything about him that I liked. I just found him pretty thin as a character.

@@legoawcstopmotioner9435 Well, again, it's been a while since I've read IDW stuff, but once Spotlight Arcee was released, I basically started losing interest. Only series that I still read was the MTMTE series, but even with the great characters like Nautica, Swerve, Chromedome and Nightbeat, there still were quite a few things that bothered me.
And from what I remember of Springer in IDW, yeah, I still wasn't too keen on him. Only comics I've read in full are the Marvel US G1 comics and some of the Dreamwave comics (though I really need to get back to those since my memory about them is a bit fuzzy).
@@CannonFodder93 I am personally a fan of Springer, but you're entitled to your opinion. I respect that. I mean, I don't like Starscream and I think I would get way more hate for that.
