I just Purchased a VBar Combo Yesterday After seeing this video an how it has everything anyone can dream of on the Telemetry as well as so many fine tuning for Helicopter I have a IX20 and it is nice but in no way for helicopter in my mind. Jeff you are my number one go to for information. I am not new to RC Helis my frist was a Ion Xcell for Miniature Aircraft stretched to 850MM and low head speed 1000 rpm 30 mins flight time. and 4 other Trex size for 450 to 700. I am looking forward to Have the great Transmitter and RX.
@@n411xbushpilot you are going to love it! It’s so nice! I went way to long with out trying Vbar and kept saying “there over priced” “there nothing special” man was I wrong! Once I tired Vbar I never went back. I have a IX14 and it’s a super nice radio but no where close to Vcontorl/Vbar. There is a reason mikado is the pioneer of FBL! They started it! Check out Mondays video on setup with the SAB ILgoblin. It’s a 10 min setup on any heli and that includes setting up the ESC! I’m glad you enjoy the channel! I greatly appreciate the support!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Jeff you have earned my support I just replayed this video because i havs a little tail shake very small I moved the servo ball closer to the center so I now have 102 left and 102 right on the setting. But this head adjutment might help I an not able to fight in Alaska a lot of the time because we only have 5 hour of daylight and my temp limit is 20 about or more. lucky I can setp out of my Hanger and fly and walk back inside warm Hanger.
@ Thank you! I greatly appreciate the support! You can message me directly on patreon and it’s normally faster for me to respond! I’m glad you got your tail with throw, so moving the ball in or out of course increase or decreasing throw on the tail servo. But it will also increase or decrease, mechanical gain advantages. So when you move the ball closer to the servo screw, you are decreasing overall gain, but you are increasing servo response and then when you move the ball further out, you are decreasing response, but increasing mechanical gain, depending on which you will increase or gain transmitter to accommodate it. I start at 18 mm and adjust from there if needed?
I have nothing to fly but learning from your videos. I keep looking at my raptor 30 hanging in the garage and thinking soon I will have one of these new technology helicopters and get back into this great hobby. Thanks for all this great stuff and can’t wait to see the fly bar to fly bar less conversion on your raptor.
I really need to get my raptor 30 out and get it flying again! It’s ready for servos and has a cool story behind it. Next time I’m at my storage I’m going to get it pulled out and start getting it back together and make a video! I hope you get yours flying and get a newer heli. They have come sooooooo far!
Thank you for watching! I’m glad this video was helpful. There will be many more videos to come in this series in different advanced options of the radio.
Great video. Thanks. Just subscribed. I think a lot of us would like some info on PID when you put it together. Also as someone else mentioned, having the “par lock” or parameter lock is a useful feature
Thank you for subscribing! I appreciate that! Once I feel more comfortable, I will make a video on the P ID. I personally don’t like making videos that I don’t know 110% of what I am talking about. Lol. Yes, Par lock is a very useful tool.
Outstanding! Would love to see the PID's when you figure that one out. I am still figuring out the basics but I think I have a handle on that one. Thank you for this video as I have been looking forward to it. 👍
Response I’m glad you enjoyed this video. I wanted to make two separate videos on the subject because what I covered in this video is perfect for 95% of the helicopter guys out there. Getting into the PID‘s is more for the advanced hard-core guys that want every little inch of perfection out of the model.
Great video. I am just learning how to tune via PID and this helps a lot. Could you please explain the relationship between the terminology of what VBAR uses to proportional, integral, and derivative.
Thank you! I hope it was helpful. So I’m not 100% sure on the relationship between PID. I do know what each value does but it is completely different rates compared to iKon which is what I’m used to. As I Learn More about the PID I’ll make a full video on it.
I’m super unimpressed with heli setup on both my Specktrum DX18 and Futaba 18SZ. Both used for fixed wing. I’m super impressed with VBar. Might be in my future.
Perfect idea thank you very much !! I would be interested to see a video about speed of tail / gain - training and 3D for example better to have a slower tail to learn then speed up as get comfortable
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. So as far as the gain goes, you’re going to have the same gain settings no matter how you fly. Unless it’s speed flying. But! The rotation rate or speed of the tail is going to be a complete user preference. I personally prefer very fast movements all the way around so I have a lot for a little bit be on my controls. But as a beginner, it is definitely better to have a slower speed and then work your way up as you learn.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 do you not find you kick out the tail sometimes if too sensative? I'm finding at the moment even if i put expo upto like 100% on the bench and wiggle sticks it doesnt show any effect i'm wondering if that only comes into play in the air, when i do the same with my DX18 its slow around center then fast S curve. Didnt know if VBAR was different.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 im finding when adding expo on vbar and vbar evo it doesnt really add and im not sure what setting is overriding this. For example on bank 1 if i set 100% expo and bank 2+3 as 30 and switch bentween the banks on the bench moving the sticks it doesnt show any sign of slow around center Stick. Yet if i do this on my spktrum its very noticeable and works as expected - what could i be doing wrong?!
@@ThomasColeman so expo is a funny thing and all radios act different with it. Some radios like spektrum need a positive value and some radios like Futaba need a negative value. I’ve never tired it on Vbar. But play with style and turn it down as it will slow the over all feel of the model down.
Just curious if you could show your log files on the raw 580 and the neo. It drives me crazy that my entire flight is an extreme vibration. I had the same issues with my raw 700. They both fly great but always show extreme vibrations. My logo 700 never had nothing more than a raised vibration. It scares me to try out rescue for fear of a issue with the extreme vibrations. By the way, those liperiair 5000 80c are awesome, the bursts are out of this world.
So I don't have the modify configuration menu and I don't know why. I ordered my unit with both the rescue and the pro software. It gives me menus for the rescue but I don't have the modify configuration menu.
My trex 500x has drift to the left, and intense tail walk when i give full positive pitch. I have tried increasing the colc recompense. It is not improving , any suggestions
So the drift is normally from the swash plate not being level. I would double check that. Tail wag can be a few different things. What heli? What’s the tail setup like? What servo? What gain?
No matter what I activate, I don't get to see the relative settings when I turn pot 1 of the mainrotor gain. The numbers 20 and 120 do appear, but not the current set value. What am I doing wrong.
@@barrykennedy9379 No, I haven't been working on it anymore, am too busy with work. And the weather in the Netherlands is not so good that I can fly for a while.

You can add parameter lock to a switch but long term should disable them as Jeff suggested.
That’s great to know, I didn’t even know about adding the perimeter lock to the switch.
