The Well-being of the ECE Workforce in Low-resourced Locations (WELL) program targets the early childhood education (ECE) workforce in Head Start settings. Working in ECE settings is stressful and ECE educators often face excessive demands and low-resourced workplaces. The primary goal of the WELL program is to support ECE staff well-being and decrease turnover and burnout. The WELL program is partnered with 5 Head Start agencies located in 3 urban counties and 1 rural region of Colorado.

The WELL program is a multi-level, multi-strategy intervention and staff participate in a variety of activities that are designed to support staff well-being. The 4 main topics include mindfulness, positive coping, sleep and psychological capital. All the topics are centered around building a sense of social connectedness and personal accomplishment.

This community-academic partnership with the Rocky Mountain Prevention Research Center at the University of Colorado and the Colorado School of Public Health is funded by the Administration for Children and Families. To learn more about the WELL Program, click this link: coloradosph.cu...
