      Is there any reliable indication of what Remco's current weight is? If I understand correctly, the 6.5 W/kg reported in the article means he did 390W for the climb, and then you can slot in his actual weight to get an accurate W/kg?

    Destroyed? I have to disagree. Remco put a mark on his back with the red jersey, everyone will attack him now and as we could see, QuickStep isn’t strong on climbs. I feel like even if Roglic was not top notch on this stage this was more tactical than anything else. That one minute just seems so calculated and he was leading, pacing, was not falling behind after a certain point.
    I think JV just knows how to play his cards on a grand tour and gave up the position on purpose.

      Looking at the watts, this performance was pretty on par with what Pogacar and Vignegaard achieved in the Tour. Of course, it's difficult to say if he would be able to do this over three weeks, but I guess we'll know that soon enough.

I go all in full gas also i might not remember is a 3 week race I might not have tank for 3 weeks but I don't want to lose the chance to see myself in full red ... I hope my sarcasm is well documented and maybe I am wrong But at this pace and rate of change explosive style from all riders Remco will not make Madrid in red ... is nice to see fire works right and left ... Tao Ayuso Almeida Hinndle Kelderman a few more seem to have a pace and a mind to last the whole 3 weeks they might recall this is just the begin. and is about how does this ends, any recalls 2019 pandemic giro... just saying.

      Remco just took the opportunity of feeling good. Why would he hold back now? Every time you can take time in a way that you are the one setting the pace, it's a good ride that doesn't make you crack in the 3rd week. It's the other riders who had to go deeper than they would have wanted, not the one riding in the front (Remco in this case). Now he can ride more conservative.

    • @icollectstories5702
      @icollectstories5702 Год назад +2

      That doesn't matter. What matters is Evenepoel beat Roglic by 82 seconds on a mountain stage. If Evenepoel continues like this, he will win the Vuelta. Most people believe this unlikely; that's why there's no panic. But this also shows why Jumbo didn't bother chasing too hard yesterday, assuming that conceding 4 minutes to that group of riders wasn't going to matter. It didn't.
