KVW’s overdue review! JDM SBBW005 & SBDW005 KINETIC LANDMASTER

I’m checking out two of Seiko’s first Kinetic Landmasters - a first-gen AGS from 1993, and a titanium GMT from Y2K.
PSA: This video contains sub-optimal levels of editing, usually none. We have zero script, no planning, no real editing, nothing. Same for the sound - I forgot my microphone so if you can hear anything count that as a win. Even if that "anything" is tuneless humming. I did pump up the volume though. YMMV if you choose to blow part of your life on this. No Refunds. Enjoy!

Any chance other Seiko bezels can fit the sbdw005 case? I’d love to see a dive bezel on one of these

The Pulsar Y514 6009 Quartz diver from the 90s has the same case shape as the Seiko 2205 lady diver, case size is 40mm and looks like a Seiko SKX

sry but i never seen this landmaster very nice thank you sir for showing this awesome seikos and that profesinal with the crown on three a clock ??? i know that case style but only with crown on 4 o clock !!! very nice

Some knock the Kinetics, but once you have fitted a modern capacitor they are great, check out the AGS "Starfish" models that came in Titanium also and nice blue dials.

I'm sure I've seen a photo of Charlie Sheen on set with his dad (Apocalypse Now) in 1977 wearing a 2205.

i have the same sbbw005 but from ‘94. can you relume these things? its a nice lil watch but the lume on mine is gone.

I'm sure it could be done. I've never tried - these sort of flat lume jobs can be super tricky because the lume isn't contained in a framework or marker, and can go all over the place.
