I live near Charleston WV I was out with my pan a minute ago looking. No one's looked for gold in so long who knows whats under are feet. There's quartz everywhere so who knows.
Really cool video. I grew up in WV and never knew there was gold in them there hills. As kids we made pocket money hunting for Ginseng and selling tanned pelts. I've really gotten into treasure hunting since moving to the NC coast. Used to do alot of beach metal detecting until my minelab finally succumbed to the salt spray. Now I head out to western NC and try and do some prospecting out that way. Anyway great video and I am going to go check out James' channel.

West Virginia definitely has a good amount of gold and probably in the biggest part of the state also and from what I've been told, it is considered to be sold on the 24 karat scale and is considered to be one of the higher, to highest percentages of good quality gold from anywhere in the lower 48 States including Alaska
I'm from WV but unfortunately I live smack dab in the middle of clay country. I'd have to travel across the state to find anything of valuable. I'd be better off making a trip to Ohio and hunt for some glacier gold.
Rose Quartz is always a good sign and it has awesome healing properties & the Fossil was a bonus foe sure 0.76 not bad, Rock on West Virginia and you to Shane!

I bet you can scrape between the sidewalk cracks in the old parts of beverly hills and find some gold and diamonds. I've done it a lot here in Denver, nobody cares. They might just look at you like you're crazy.

funny i just watched this video,of course i am from nh, but two years ago i stayed in gap mills west va for 7 months,ran into old freinds from navy days went stayed for awhile, way in the woods gap mills wv wish i had panned while there! Duane

Not that I know of, but when I do my GPAH videos and it's winter, I use warm/hot water to keep my hands from freezing out there

I keep mine unsanded and smooth, since I usually only use them for finish panning (black sand only).
