    Chances are, the Canucks will be good enough to finish just outside the playoffs, which probably means getting a 2nd tier prospect in the 1st round and saga will continue for the Canucks. I don't think this franchise in over 50 years has ever had an actual rebuild.

    • @hklinker
      @hklinker Год назад +5

      The word ‘rebuild’ has only applied since the salary cap era. And when the cap era began, the Canucks were beginning to build the 2011 Cup team. So yes, there has never been a full rebuild but the timeline is a lot closer to 20 years, not 50.

      @@hklinker still to not do it after the twins was just silly, there was a perfect window to do it. That is what TL wanted and left when his voice was ignored. Calgary is getting strong so Van had to fill that team that won't be terrible and will be either just in or out of the playoffs. Usually a late run to make sure they don't get a good pick.

    The two wins certainly have cooled down the angst among Canucks nation, but it does not change the objective fact that the team has maxed out the cap, still carries some big-ticket contracts long-term, and are missing some pieces on defence. I think if Demko can return to his form from last year, the team can still fight to get into the playoffs, but management really needs to have an honest assessment on the team, and make some of those non-emotional hockey decisions that they said they needed to make. I think both the OEL and the Miller deals are going to remain albatrosses for this team for years to come.

    They aren’t worse than Vegas was in year one. It was a state of mind..players labeled the misfits motivated..Coach Gallant drove the bus. Boudreau has a similar glass half full mentality. Not a Canucks local..but it is unfortunate everyone looks to failing moments to reinforce failure. Growing up in Boston Red Sox market the epic fails were everything..you couldn’t buy a more optimistic outlook. Until they won the World Series. It makes sense Bruins won Cup in Vancouver..a market just like their own..until 2004.. then anything possible.

    Canucks will finish just outside the playoffs. They will feel good about how they finished the season, go into next season and cycle the same thing over and over again.

    I know there is new Management now but still can't forget Benning picking Olli Juolevi and passing up Matthew Tkachuk what a bone head move. If Canuck would have tanked these last 5 years Canucks management would have had awesome players and a great group of players to challenge for the Stanley Cup 🏆but Canucks screw it up alwsys and start winning in March/April Canucks are jinxed and always seem to move down in the entry draft so Canucks should TANK be the 32nd team and if they lose the Lotttery they can only move down two spots and be able to choose the Russian Kid who is like Oveckin or Fantilli, it's called idiot proofing the Canucks, they will get an elite player but unfortunately Canucks will be just mediocre and another ground hog year 🏒🏒🏒

      Team likely wouldn't get Hughes if the picked Tkachuk over Juolevi. Don't assume that previous draft scores don't affect draft positioning in later classes

  • @Devin88888

    Canucks are just a mediocre hockey club they as usual will start winning in March/April but will just miss the playoffs and end up in no man's land in respect to 2023 NHL Entry Draft and will end up picking between 12th and 16th even sports talk show don't want to talk about what players that are in the middle of the pack. Tank for Bedard and get the local kid‼️‼️‼️ imagine Fans will go crazy and Roger's Arena will be sold out Bedard just sold out Langley Arena when Bedard is coming to play ▶️ TANK 4 BEDARD‼️
