You’re a true legend Phil. Lions tours mean such a lot to us Boks supporters. It was great to see you pick yourself up
Such an insane tour. Blew my mind. The brutality of it. It's the best sporting event there is in my mind.
Totally agree, Cant wait for 2021 Tour
Totally agree..lions..and then Ryder Cup for me
I remember him getting schooled by the Beast, but I didn't ever think how that would have affected him. Poor chap
A Great Lion! A,true players Player! Also, very, very Modest Giant. Many thanks for Sharing this with All Rugby Lovers, from England Scotland Ireland and Wales.
Phil is a machine , respect from the Boks supporters
Great video absolutely loved that tour to SA. From a Saffa. Enjoy the Lions brotherhood
Big respect to you for persevering (from Souf Efrica)
That took lots of heart, its very easy to throw a comment but how many of those throwers could have made the comeback ?
Did you watch the 3rd test
Phil seems a likable and funny bloke and great for him for coming good in the last test.
what a beautiful voice!!!!!!!!!!
So much respect for this man. Smashed in the first test, dominated by his opponent, whether or not some inept refereeing helped is moot. But to come back and put the shift in he did was glorious. It epitomises rugby.
Legend, seen him play for England and club. 💪
Top Lad
Professional sport is uncompromising!! He did well to come back and hold his own .
Seems like an incredibly decent bloke as well as a top player. Great example for rugby in England, Eddie Jones' side should probably take a leaf out of this man's book.
beast !
Can't believe they didn't take him off much earlier than he did; Adam Jones came on and turned it around
Yes, we all have our bad days, just accept it
@@contrarian717 except what ?
@@gwyllt5633 I mean take Vickery off earlier as it was soon very clear it was not his day
Well done Phil 🇬🇧👍
Phil a top player, always
True LION 🦁
Lol! What’s this guy on about. Got absolutely manhandled in the scrums by a rookie beast. 3rd test the series was win and boks fielded a fringe squad to give everyone a go and he sees that as some great comeback? I suppose you’ll convince yourself of anything if it keeps the tears away.
🤣🤣🤣
My only memory of Vickery in that tour was Beast ending his career. I can't remember any great comeback by Vickery.
He evened the score in the third test. Made the Beast look a little ordinary.
@@thewomble1509 Donno about that. I watched the whole series again a couple of weeks ago and at best Vickery held his own against Beast in the 3rd test... which is what an international prop should do. I think he bettered Beast in one scrum. But the way Vickery celebrated that performance speaks volumes about how he was bossed in the 1st test.
@@gwyllt5633 He was past his best no doubt.
He absolutely pwned Beast in the 3rd test what series did you watch?

Phil Vickery - a great man
Not entirely his fault, the 1st test; things went better in the scrum when they put Simon Shaw on behind.
Shaw was especially good in the second test. Top player.
And dumped the tiny Lee Mears
3rd one was a dead rubber
Picking Mears and AWJ was a mistake. Shaw rightly came in for the second test and Mears was subbed off in the first. Vickery was abject but if he had a bigger lock and hooker it would have made a difference.
Xprat your talking crap mate
@@gwyllt5633 not at all, if you've never felt the difference a bigger lock n beefed up front row makes........u clearly know fuck all.
The Beast dominated this guy in that test💪🏿💪🏿 😂🤣
no shit sherlock :D
Not in the third one.......
Lost the series for us with O'Gara
He is still walking like Lucky Luke today with how the Beast nailed him, hard and continuous..
got manhandled by the beast#
Adam didn't have "insane bad luck". He was the victim of a typical cheap shot by Bakkies Botha. He knew exactly what he was doing when he went in with those shoulder charges on players (ask Australia).
Yeah, Bakkies knew very well that he needed to clear that log Adam Jones away from that ruck, and he did just that. An excellent job.
1. Getting munched in the scrums.
2. Losing the tour.
