Oh, great... this will put even *MORE* mud into the system. It's already onerous as hell trying to fly which is why I haven't bothered to fly since 2002 when I discovered I could drive from Texas Tyler (TYR) to Atlanta (ATL) in almost the same amount of time it took me to fly there after all of the checks, security checks, boarding, waiting, flying, waiting, deboarding and waiting for a connecting flight, boarding, waiting even longer, flying, deplaning, waiting for luggage, and finally getting out of the airport. That took about 9 hours.
Time to drive from TYR to ATL... 10.5 hrs.

Digital boarding passes should either adopt NFC technology or have a barcode that changes every 30 seconds and expires. Maybe this will push the industry to make changes.
For paper ones they could print text telling people to be discrete and not show their barcode to anyone besides airline/airport officials.

So these guys made it all the way to their destination. This is an issue with airline complacency and attention to detail. I was handed someone else’s ticked at the ticket gate on an international flight leaving CLT. Although I was booked for the flight already, my seat wasn’t assigned and I had to see the agent before boarding. I took the ticket, didn’t notice the name, and went to the seat assigned. While seated, someone else told me that they we also assigned to that seat so we looked at the ticket and realized that the agent had printed that members ticket again and handed it to me. Had that seat been empty, no one would have known the difference. Was it a big deal, no because I was actually booked on that flight and eventually was issued my actual ticket and assigned seat, but it does raise concerns with airline agent complacency. Perhaps these stowaways have had similar experiences as the one I had and are using that procedural weakness to their advantage. Who knows who’s flying around on American domestic flights right now. We need to tighten up, especially with the complacent Biden administration leaving our borders open. Our country is being infiltrated with people from non allied nations. It’s very concerning.

Technology is the biggest security risk. Allowing people to print boarding passes at home, making kiosks available to print boarding passes and sending digital boarding passes to electronic devices makes the entire security process a joke. Return to the old way where you arrive at the airport, wait in line to get a paper boarding card then proceed through security. This world is too fked up to make something as important, security wise, as boarding an aircraft easy or convenient.
