  • Hello fellow Doll Customizers, Enthusiasts, and Artists alike! In this video, I document my very first experience installing an articulating neck joint from @BethRamsden 💗🖤💗 I'm SO excited to share this with you, and although I'm not even close to being the first to post a video like this, 😂 I feel that it's a good way to document and show my progress, and perhaps even encourage others, like me, who are still relatively new to this form of Doll Art.
For me, everything goes well as planned, although I had some pretty good frustration there for a moment dealing with a cheap hand drill tool 🤪 I don't edit this out, because I don't want anyone to think that it isn't normal to get annoyed at times lol I like keepin it real 🧐

👁️New Doll Eye Making Tutorial strongly on the way, but I was too excited not to share this first! Happy Doll Customizing AND Eye Making! 👁️💗
PLEASE NOTE: Doll customizing is NOT for children! The use of tools, especially sharp tools, and other supplies can be highly dangerous and cause serious injury. Although dolls are cute, fun, and customizing looks fun - this is NOT for anyone under the age of 18, and even then, you must use extreme caution and practice safety to avoid injury. Do customizing only at your own sole discretion and risk, and always do plenty of research FIRST. Thank you 💗

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with our neck joint! 😄 May I suggest for the pilot hole to try to find an even smaller drill bit to make that initial hole with, mine is only about 1mm wide (super duper tiny!) I then work up from there.
Those heads are so tricky to get closed again aren't they! I think I usually press on the face plate, just ahead of where the ears are, there's a little hook inside that isn't very flexible that needs to 'catch'.
Aww thank you so much! I really enjoyed this, and have quite a few more of your videos in my 'to watch' playlist now too 🤩

Hi Beth! You are SO welcome, I cannot tell you how much your videos have helped me with multiple learning curves lol. Yes! I will for sure take your advice and try a smaller drill bit, that makes a lot of sense, and I think it will save me a lot of time in the future lol. Hahaha... yep, tricky is for sure the right word for those heads, and I'm always petrified of breaking or cracking one from using too much pressure 🥴 Thanks again very much for your pioneering work with the neck joints, and for your friendship and support! *hugs*

Use a dremel with a small drill bit❤

Yes! I actually thought of using my Dremel too, but I didn't have the proper type or size bit for this, and my husband said I would not have as much control and might accidentally damage the doll 😭I think I might try it in the future, if I can find a pin vise style drill bit that fits my Dremel. Thanks!! 😊
