Horns Flare (1 Elbow BIG setting a cross-screen or Flare Screen for the opposite Elbow BIG to pop outside the 3-point Arc) followed by a Dribble Hand-off is an excellent way to include your BIG as a passer.
I'd argue there are two bigger reasons why the play didn't work at 8:04: 1. Batum may not be the best option to come off the dribble hand-off. Batum has separation from his defender, but he doesn't turn the corner after the hand-off: his first couple of steps are angled substantially different (away from the basket) to Monk's in your first clip. 2. Monk was being guarded by Young. He seems easier to exploit, or at the very least isn't great at fighting through screens which gives Monk more separation.
You bring up some good points and I think the conclusion, is, each plays success is determined by a variety of factors. - For example Monk was able to turn the corner, aided by the fact he was being guarded by Young but also because of Bridges duck in helped ensure Young couldn't get tight to Monk right away. - I think Batum is still capable of turning the corner, but unlike in the clip with Monk driving, he was being guarded by a good on-ball defender in Glenn Robinson, and Batum noticeably has less separation to drive.
Coach Daniel Can you do a video on the warriors play without Steph curry and what they do on offense without him. Also, when doing the video could you talk about how Steve Kerr is using Kevin Durant. In my opinion I think he’s using him too much as a point guard even though he’s an average passer and it gives them no off ball threat besides Klay Thompson so the other 4 defenders can all focus on him. I also think they have too many stagnant plays where KD holds the ball in the post for too long. When watching him in OKC I thought he was best utilized coming off pindowns early in the offense because he isn’t super athletic so it’s hard for him to create space as the point guard but, when coming off screens which create separation for him, he’s so long that he can shoot over you easily, which forces his defender to close out hard but then he can still blow by you if you do close out hard. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks and sorry for typing a lot.
How about call it “ZOOM”? It can also run the concept in the transition. The trailer bigs handle the ball and the forward set a corner down screen for the guard and continue the play. I saw Coach Stephon Marbury run this play for his team in the CBA team Beijing Royal Fighters.

Australian Ballscreen Motion Offense. 😀😀😀 Must have a TRAILING BIG. Dribble-entry to the wing (push wing player down to the corner or hand-off). Weakside Overload, dribble-at forces the wing player (45-degree angle) to backdoor cut with a Corner player lift, automatically.
It's called Zoom. The reason it's taking over is because of the prevalence of 5 man out basketball and the idea that all 5 positions on the court. You bring your bigs out to the top of the key then run off ball screens or screens away from the ball to free up a give and go that leads to lay ups/dunks, fouls, or kick outs to open 3s/mid range shots. If they deny the pass or play aggressive on the screen you run backdoor cuts. Also you continually back fill your screens. It creates a lot of gaps/spaces and mismatches.
Whenever, as a defender, you're trailing your man with the ball who has any sort of lane...you're screwed. Pure and simple. With NBA defense reg's, you're glad just giving up 2 points.
Trey Young and No. 22 either have to switch on that action or No. 22 needs to pick Zeller on Zeller’s cut to the basket, then recover back to his man. That’d help both Alex Len and Tre Young.

Quality content mate! Didnt even notice it was 9 minutes, i like in depth analysis like that. Could have even maybe been longer for me.

In Australia this is known as "flow" or "loaded side". It's a very common play in Victoria.
Cuz in North America it's ran a lot in the US
I've seen this called Chicago action because the Bulls with Rose used to run this sort of action a ton.
Also heard this as chicago action, hoiberg has been running this since iowa state.

As the secondary option yes. You can start a corner offense on the strong side and have your big fade in the middle and initiate this play afterwards
