This wasn't Eminem nor Shady on this track
This was Marshall Mathers!
Toni Long true story
Truth
You are absolutely right.
Same with "Toy soldiers"... True Marshall on that song
Dr dre loved Easy E like a brother despite them falling out, when dre went to visit Eric at the hospital Eric was unconscious and soon after he passed away and Dre never got to make up with him or say good bye. :(
"It just dawned on me you lost a son." Dre's son died in 2008 I think.
Dawn and sun. Freaking bars.
Wordplay 101
No his son really died guys.
Omg and then right after the "lost a sun/son" bar he says " Demons fightin you it's dark, let me turn on the lights and brighten me and enlighten you." Em is too fuckin cold widdit
Check out the bars on this song man. this guy said i put those beats to the side of your head like i dr dre you' and makes it rhyme.

Dre's life has been plauged by death. Growing up in Compton he lost his baby brother, then Eazy, then his own son died. Em is basically telling him not to give up and to keep going.
Plauged asf by death his son was the worst tho 😭😭😭
Tragic doesn’t even describe it. NO parent should ever have to bury their own child. Especially at such a young age. I don’t know if I could make it if that happened to me. My heart breaks for Dre. A child? How does someone heal from that? I’ve lost so many people. Both parents, grandfathers before I was born, both grand moms by 18, my only uncle last month, friends upon friends, some murdered in their teens, friends I grew up with. The pain of losing Proof must still stab Eminem even after all this time. They were more than friends. They were brothers. Awful what happened to him. Some of my friends overdosed. One died in a DUI car accident where the other car was the drunk driver. He was 20. One took their own life. One from cancer when we were 10. Hodgkins Lymphoma. He was my best friend. We had known each other since 4 yrs. old. He was like my brother. My son is named after him. I’m a divorced mom, and I’m in a relationship, but I really have no blood left but my two kids. I’m even an only child. It’s always been the three of us against the world. We’re very tight knit. If I lost them, there would truly be nothing left for me in this world. RIP to all those we’ve loved and lost along the way. God willing, we will see them again someday, in the great beyond.
@@rebeccahopkins9522 this was beautiful. But please remember if anything ever did happen that THEY WOULD WANT YOU TO LIVE MORE THAN EVER! They would WANT YOU TO DO THE THINGS THEY COULDN’T! If they say Em is RAP GOD,
I say dre is the GOD of BEATS.
Blue Planet BEAT GOD
Not be a hater, Dre is a decent rapper but foremost a genius rapper. So my remark is, wasn't dre involved in setting up easy-e at suge sit-down. Concerning a contract, signed by Mickey Mouse (easy-e real O.G./ even when he knew about the betrayel he kept his cool) of someone sells his soul to movie, music industry isn't that called; selling your soul to the devil. As we all know all the high ballers in the industry are satanic worshippers**** or must we see if from the point of view; God is the devil and visa versa. One person. Being ironic in those last sentences to avoid miss-understandings. We saw in the beginning of my transcript that miss-understandîngs could have severe consequenses
He always was (since a kid) actually👊🏿👊🏿

“You risked your CAREER for me!”
I’ve never heard another line in any other type of song given with so much emotion and conviction as that one here. Em really meant everything he said in this song.
When Dre says he walked in with a yellow jumpsuit on he’s talking about meeting with Em for one of the first times. There’s video of Em talking about it somewhere on RUclips. Gives me chills to think Dre saw such talent and put his neck on the line to sign the white boy that no one else gave a chance. It’s such an incredible story, friendship and rap partnership between the two. ❤️💯
It's on the Defiant Ones document. It's mind blowing to think that the first thing they did together was My Name Is, and that happened withing the first minute Em started rapping over a silly beat Dre made.
Cannot recommend the document enough.
that's right
@@Gyrbae it's crazy they made like six songs the first night and I think they used three or four of those songs.
I’m stupid so can some one tell me why it was risky to sign someone??

Why are people so obsessed with slim shady persona.
Eminem is the best of the two .
Shady is more funny , raw , controversial.
Eminem as the storyteller, song writer, lyrist, wordsmith is so much better. As the music is alot more
Influential and relatable.
Eminem is the goat either way.
Ain't no one spitting bars like Eminem.
People need entertainment and shady as you said is more controversial. Most people don't really pay attention to lyrics in depth.
It’s because I like the “don’t give a fuck anyone can get smoke” attitude of Slim Shady. He’s clever as shit and doesn’t give a fuck who he offends
Eminem is the angry god
There is 3 personas slim shady go at your head fuck it all I'm taking heads(love it). Eminem when he telling a story often rhyming bs but letting his metaphors paint the picture. Then there is Marshall Mathers, comes out on songs like this the emotional side(and I love this side probably more then slim). Slim gets me pumped, em makes me laugh and marshal brings tears.
They both just Marshall Mathers, he is a genius and made this personas to switch his raps.

Without Dr. Dre their alot of artist we know wouldn't be here.
True, but without Eazy there would be less of them. Lots of artist branch out from him and are looked up to.
francoanthoney1993 true, but it's hard to say if there would have been an Eazy E without Dre's beats and Cube's lyrics.
@@syyneater E was the money bag to it all. If he didn't use his money, They wouldn't have done what they did or been as popular as they where. Picture E without the money he had at the start of it. NWA wouldn't have happened and they probably wouldn't have crossed paths. I'm not trying to say one is more important than the other or that they could have done what the did without one of them, but am saying that Eazy was the most important part of it even tho he was just a voice with a reputation behind it. Dre wasn't a gangster nor was cube but eazy was that and a dealer. You can't have nobody's taking about being gangsters at that time when they weren't. They would test them. People knew Eazy was. That was his vital role. Remember the year it was. Not many rappers of today would have survived especially 69
Yeah he even helped out tupac when he got out
francoanthoney1993 What I meant about E not being E without Dre & Cube, was about them pushing him to get on the mic. I don't think any of them would exist as they are or were (in E's case), without each other. Each of them brought something different to the table, and it all just clicked into place. It seems like it was one of those perfect moments, and everything aligned correctly. That timing, combined with the issues they were rapping about, caused a shift in the culture at just the right time.
That's not to say that it was easy for them once NWA formed, I'm sure deciding to form the group was probably the easiest part. The success after that was hard work, a bit of luck, skill, and perseverance.
This song always gets me Em knows he owes everything to Dre. You should react to Dr Dre ft Eminem “forgot about Dre”
