2:47 Your right. Some sounds are created on an inhale, others on an exhale, while some can be produced on both. The trick is timing the sounds, and chaining them together so that you can breathe while constantly producing sound. Add on top of that the fact that other sounds are created using air pressure inside the mouth, allowing them to layer sounds onto the voice coming through the nose. The precision of sound that beatboxers utilize is insane.

ahh yes, my favourite reactions... starting off with Extreme Metal Vocalists then moving onto the Crazy Beatboxers. it's just insane what the human voice is capable. I'm always fascinated with videos on metal vocals and beatboxing. I'd highly recommend watching Improvers Uber Beatbox videos, or "Pro Beatboxers Try The No Lips Challenge" it's insane... also more Show go, or D-Low, maybe CodFish's beatbox final I think from 2019. also for metal vocalists. Kyo from Dir En Grey, he has an insane range

For solo beatboxing, breathes are written into the composition. Some sounds that are made are done with an inhale rather than expelling air out to achieve the sound, as well as literally plain breaths sometimes as part of the rhythms or as a rest to create that musicality and sense of suspension too. Really cool! I particularly like how showgo writes his breaths
