    May I ask why you put the extra shelf and kiln stilts on the top? I think they look fine! No one knows you didn’t mean to do it that way.

    • @KatAtkinson
      @KatAtkinson  2 года назад +1

      I put the extra on top because I noticed a heatwork difference when I had to much empty space on the top. It balanced the heat out and I had better results

      @@KatAtkinson I’ve heard putting the shelf there just never the stilts. Have you tested all of your elements to make sure they are all working ok? You can also try to put a little more room between your shelves when loading if you don’t have enough to really fill the kiln. I have the complete opposite problem and have way too much once I get to the firing stage! I have a kiln that takes 21” shelves and it’s 27” tall inside so I usually get about 4 levels. Oh I also stagger the half shelves which gives me much better heat work all through the kiln. Maybe that could help.

      I was binge watching videos one day and someone I can't remember who...said to use kiln furniture to fill in the spaces. My kiln and yours are about the same size.in that load my stuff was taller so I couldn't put as much in it. It worked out though so 🤷
