so your answer is to ignore the rules?
Absurd to make that statement.
Lmao jaylens like im out this bitch
L0L
Ha!!! I know all three member of this zebra crew personally. This game is STILL used as a training video of how to do things correctly as a zebra crew!!! Great job gents...great job!
Is there any talk amongst the association about how long it took the partners to actually run the guy? It looked like the official that had the first technical was practically begging his partners to get to it. They did get it right, of course, and everything was handled very well but that’s the part I wonder about.
@@tylermatlock4856 What should have happened was once the official issued a technical foul to the coach, it was his partners responsibility to have not allowed that coach to continue following him. The other refs should have stepped in. Under no circumstances. Other than that, everything was done correctly. After 16 years of doing this job, I don't miss it.
My question was why was the coach complaining with 1.9 seconds left ???
Yes, that’s what I’m trying to figure out. Did one of his players ask for a timeout but they didn’t have any? I’m just wondering. 🤷🏽♂️
Lol jaylen hands said
"fuck it, ucla here I come."
L0L
Benn UCLA* 😂
And there he goes!
I thought the officials handled it pretty well. I'd have given the coach the second T sooner.
As soon as he followed me across the court his ass would be gone
I agree. I don’t referee basketball but as soon as I got to the other side of the court and he was still right in front of me I’m giving another T
Ref: When you TK a coach, just calmly walk away. If coach persists, then your ref partner will do 2nd TK/ejection..🤗
I agree, however, I think the partners were wayyyyy too slow in slapping’ him with T #2.
that was so selfish of that coach.. just play the damn game.. don't worry about the damn refs.. he blew the game for them..
Jackie Stewart didn't matter...St Aug had tech free throws from the "timeout" plus final possession. Game was already sealed....bs
Jackie Stewart read the description
Did you not watch ? Lol
I'm confused. He would've only had two free throws if the coach wouldn't have gotten the 2 techs and the kid at the line missed the first two free throws. How is that game sealed?
Sam Bissett after the tech FT St Aug still had final possession with 1.5 sec remaining...even if he missed all FTs they'd have to foul immediately leading to more FTs...game over
That coach is an embarrassment to the coaching profession, the game of basketball, his kids, his school, his community, and to the officials. With examples like him, it’s no wonder out youth think it’s acceptable to argue and fight teachers, the police, any other authority figure, and anyone with whom they disagree.
And sadly it's those Kids out there that deserved to play out the OT and leave it all on the floor that got punished for it. The coach cost them that game with his childish and selfish attitude
I don’t play basketball but, what did he do that was so bad?
The first Tech I’ll defend the coach a little the ref was a little quick with it. I know the coach told the ref it was bull manure but the 2nd he deserved completely. You can’t just follow a ref cussing him out like that and bowing up to him. The coach completely lost that game for them though. You can argue in the right way. That’s not it.
@@DuyNguyen-nb3jj uhh, came out halfway onto the court. can't do that. has to stay in his coaching box.
@@aaronmarshall3079 It was a good call. Calling a timeout when you don't have any left will result in a technical foul according to Rule No. 12, Part A. So that was a good call since they had no timeouts when a player tried to call one.
Ref handled it well. Coach should be embarrassed. And a lack of game administration by the home team.
Coach should never be on the court approaching the Official. Officials did this correctly. 1st Official gives coach the much deserved (very patient T given the scope of this game), then the second Official tosses him and thats exactly how it should have occurred, although it took waaay too long to boot his behind. After the first T, he should have sat down, coming back on the court yet again, should have gotten the 2nd T immediately.
The referee should have never called a tech on the player. He really didn’t call a timeout the clock was at zero seconds so it was stupid for the ref to give the T. The behavior of the coach was unacceptable tho even tho he has every right to be mad at the call.
That official showed incredible restraint.
Practice your freethrows kids.
I'm sure he's good at free throws, but he's a teenager in a pressure situation.
How good do you expect him to be when there are hoes screaming at high ass pitches
Abdul: Great one.
if you cant deliver when it counts then youre not good
DrNickRiveria, no
I'm a coach. The very last thing you say when you break huddle in the last minute is, "we have XX time outs left," or "we are out of time outs." There should never be any confusion as to how many time outs you have.
EXACTLY and I remember a game a couple of years ago where the Coach told the players they were out of timeouts and then sure enough they get a stop and then he called a timeout! I'm sure you can figure out what happened next!
The refs didn't decide this game. A player mistake and a coach freakout did. Those things are part of the game.
I was at the game. One of the players on foothills Christian called a timeout with 1 second left when they had no timeouts left which is an automatic T and the coach went insane because of that and that's why he got ejected
Kian Zarrabi Was it a player on the court or bench? I'd hate to be in that kid's shoes if true...
Jace T at 1:59 look at number 3 on Foothills calling timeout
Kian Zarrabi Wow. Good eye. I'd hate to be in his shoes right now 😳
Yeah, we can see the video
sttetetet congrats
Number 13 on saints seems hella annoying
Animal Crew why dumbass
In the heat of the moment, I don't think #3 or the ref is thinking about how many available timeouts Foothills had. Right idea, wrong situation. If FC had a timeout to spare, nobody would be trashing the refs for giving it to them. You hate to see a game end that way but it is the right call to make.
Jared Eprem I'm not sure what you're saying, but the rule says to grant the timeout regardless of how many they have left, then assess a technical foul.
In the NBA, that coach would have had his two T's and ejection before his 4th step on to the court. Pretty good patience on part of the refs.
As a clock operator, this is precisely the reason why I keep track of timeouts whether or not the scoreboard displays them. Even if it doesn’t, a coach and players should be fully aware of how many there are left, as the bookkeepers should tell coaches about it. Referees definitely handled this situation well.
like for respect to jaylen hands🔥💯
Reese Hammie They had a lot of free throw for saints
Way to go coach, didn't realize the game was all about YOU.
The coach yells, "How can you call that? How could he not call that?
What's up with the dying cat noises in the background?
Quinn Miller ik right
Quinn Miller cheerleaders on the baseline lmao
BallerVisions tbh that was so unprofessional of the cheerleaders screaming
Anh Minh Vo cheerleaders screaming unprofessional? That's what they do lmao
Cameron Miller yup, cheerleader screaming high pitch and no one seems to care. never seen those types of cheerleader b4
Exactly the type of coach we DONT need to expose our impressionable athletes and youth to, as a leader and roll model. The ref was exemplary in his behavior with this bully coach charging up to him. Great restraint on his part Bravo
Jaylen left that game like lebron leaving Cleveland
Don't blame jaylen hands at all for walking out their coach cost them the game because the ref didn't see him call for a time out dumb move on the coaches be half go to overtime and let your kids play
You read the description right?
A Foothills Christian Player called a time out which they didn't have so the refs wanted to hold that against them.
Scable oh, well let me delete my comment then 😅
Scable that's is fucking petty
no matter what they were most likely losing the game so the coach had all the right reasons to go ballistic on that ref, the other team was getting 2 free throws and ball so it wouldnt have been likely for them to go to overtime
Joe Mama 1:59 #3 calls TO...but fuck these refs they shouldn't let a tech determine the outcome.
And will you be uploading the full game?
Why did he get 6 free throws? How many technicals were there and what was each of them for??😂😂
Joshua Panicker player on foothills calls timeout they didn't have, plus 2 techs on the coach. HS a tech is two freethreows
Joshua Panicker he called a time out they didn't have and 2 technical fouls which equal 4 plus the 2 free throws from the timeout
BallerVisions throws *
BallerVisions ayyyyye shout out to baller visions man
Calling a timeout you don't have is a tech, so the player that called it got a tech, then the coach got two technicals
It doesn't matter if the refs knew they didn't have a timeout or not. If there is a timeout called and they have the possession, then they are obligated to call it. That's just how it works. They aren't thinking "these teams played really hard let's give them a few more minutes". They are thinking this is out job and we are doing it correctly. They handled this as it should of been.
Brandon Schwenk yes sir. It was the coach's fault
Brandon Schwenk Thank u Brandon, the refs did an excellent job & were in the right for issuing that tech, but for the ridicule the refs get for a coach's blunder is so unfair! These r the reasons why the officiating numbers r in decline, these types of high intensity games r tough, but the bullshit we have to hear is stupid!!!
As a 30 year basketball official, HS and college, the thing that most concerned me here was the crowd along the baseline. That would not happen in any of my games. And no coach will ever, EVER come after me. He will be long gone before he takes the second step on the floor. As far as the TO, it is a technical foul. Period. In football, such TO requests should be ignored. In basketball, they aren't ignored. I would go to the benches after a TO and tell them (if they were out) DO NOT REQUEST a TO. You will be penalized for it.
Scott 15 I was shocked to see how long it took the crew to call the second technical on the official. The official that called the first T had to avoid the coach all the way to the crowds sideline before the crew ejected him. After that first T, the crew should have tossed him the second he got out of the box
It was also concerning that after the first technical was assessed by R1, that R2 and R3 allowed the coach onto the floor and stalked across to continually berate R1. They should have prevented him from doing so.
How can the fans be so happy after that weak ass win.
Zay Mendoza cuz we goin to the ship lol
Giancarlo Cortez on some weak ass calls.
LeGoat James the game shouldn't have even been that close tbh bro hahah we had so many chances
school must not have a lot of color
lmao fr nigga needed like 20 tries also lol
Y'all need to read the description. Kid called a timeout and they didn't have any left. That's a technical foul. He pulled a Chris Webber. Description said the ref should have just ignored it? Ummm no. You don't just ignore a technical foul haha. But let's talk about 0 for St. Aug one of their biggest dudes not even down there to get a rebound after a missed free throw wtf? Coach still blew the game since that kid missed the first two free throws. Sucks that the kid thought they had a timeout and blew the game for his team.
M. Brown. You are correct. If a player, or coach, calls a time out then you grant it. If the team calling for the time out does not have any then it is a tech. As an official myself I use to let the coaches know how many time outs they had left in my early years of officiating basketball. Nevertheless, I got away from that because table crew made an error in telling me that a team had more time outs than they did and of course, they called for one and did not have it. So, how do you think they blame? Me, the official who told them they had more than they did. So, from that point on when a coach ask me how many they have left, I tell them to check with the official scorer. Not me. So if there is a controversy I just tell them we have to go by whatever the official book has. None of the rule books, UIL (our state governing body), NFHS says that it is the officials job to notify the coaches of how many time outs they have, or do not have.
Michael Barton I
@Bonidee Lee Dumbass, you have no idea what you are talking about.
the fat guy at the end killin it hahah
bruh that nigga double dribbled right at the end
I don't even know how i got here from shooting videos but that was AWESOME!
That looks like a wicked fun game to have been at! Must’ve had something to do with postseason
I can't believe the coach made it all the way to the other side of the floor without a second technical....he gets a few steps onto the court, automatic technical.
The best part is the dude misses the first 2 FT's, basically ensuring that the techs the coach got will end up being the winning points.
Coach lost the game for them.
The crybaby bully coach sure set a great example. Nice job, puddin.
Ah I see, apparently this is the rule:
Technical Foul = 2 FT
2nd Technical & Ejection = 2 FT
Calling TO when there isn't any left = 2 FT
I'm betting that ref is married, at least 15 years. To be able to walk away like that with zero expression while taking a verbal beating. Kudos.
That could be the dumbest coach ever. He doesn't like a call so instead of going to OT he decides to throw the game
Dakoda Moore wouldn't have been OT anyway most likely cause there was already a tech before he got his tech that's why they shot 6
trytin he missed the first two
The coach accounted for the last 4 FTs of the 6 and he bricked the first two.
READ THE DESCRIPTION BEFORE COMMENTING
Without the coach T's the kid only gets 2 FTs and he missed the first 2 FTs so the score would've been 69-69 with 1.5 left. He has a point.
CHAOS? I expected a stands-clearing brawl.
Jaylens like fuck this ima d1 player😂😂
Need the whole game
Never should have allowed him to walk all the way across the floor. Should have been ejected immediately. Coach lost the game for his own players and should be fired.
Jaylen Hands be like fuck this I'm done
God damn anyone else notice all those championship banners in the background.
Yes I did
just casually watching videos and ended up in this video of my high school. tf?
just now came across this video. what i want to know is why one of the other 2 officials didn't step in and stop the coach when he started following the first official across the floor.
I can imagine this being an emotional game, it looks like it was a good game.
When, in the history of officiated sports, has a coach EVER gotten a call changed just because he screamed at the referee?
Jaylen was like, I'm out nigga 😂😂
this is one of the wildest endings to a HS game I've seen in awhile! SHOUT OUT BALLER VISIONS MAN
Good to use for Case Plays for Officials in Game Management.
so someone pulled a chris webber. also that cherry kid makes it really easy to not like him.
There should have been another technical for that player leaving the court and going to the locker room for an unauthorized reason.
that ref is a Savage
I love how the crowed cheered when the referee ejected him.
Well wouldn’t you do the same if you’re the home team and the visiting team’s coach gets tossed?
Did anyone notice that when number 7 blue takes the inbounds pass he takes about 8 steps before starting to dribble?
Hands was like "C'mon team we have to leave the court. This bitch was rigged".
Team was like "We don't know unless our mommies tell us".
Anyone blaming this on the officials is ignorant.
Y'all gone take a dub like that
I just hope everyone had fun...
i cant believe refs partners let coach get that close to him man yall gotta get him out the gym asap
Did anyone notices the clock before the technical fouls 0.00 was on the clock, and why they give extra time on the clock after the tech free throws?
Because the ref signalled for a time out when there was time left on the clock. You can see his hand go up (and I think hear the whistle too). The time keeper couldn't respond in time, so they put the time back on--before the FTs were shot.
Can we talk about how he walked and double dribbled on the last inbound play 😂
@Puckman637 he traveled and double dribbled long before the final horn sounded. However unlikely, a lob toward the basket and a tip in with a foul could have happened with people going up trying to tip the lob away. It's real easy to fall back on "it had no baring on the outcome"
someone tell me what the ref did wrong?... he granted a timeout called by the player. it is not the officials responsibility to keep up with timeouts.
The official has an obligation to grant any timeout requested regardless of how many timeouts have been used. The way the high school basketball rules are written, each team theoretically has an unlimited number of time outs they can take. However, each team gets three 60-second time outs and two 30-second timeouts for free. After that it's a technical foul. Rule 5-11-6 of the high school rules says: "Time outs in excess of the allotted number may be requested and shall be granted during regulation playing time or any extra period at the expense of a technical foul for each."
Anna Mozatee Only after the fact. Its their job to call the timeout requested, and then log it/count it...and if the team already used their timeouts, its a TF. The f-up in that situation was the player...which means it was ultimately the Head Coach's responsibility to make sure an extra T.O. wasn't called....
I credited you with a "half-right".
That may not seem like much right now, but a swami told me that at death, you will now receive "Total Consciousness".
You're welcome.
Peace be unto you my child.
@Anna Mozatee wrong. Try again
Keep your composure
nice double dribble at the end
I think everyone should read the description of the video
theres nothing worst than (legit) losing because of refs but this was all on the coach from foothills. He cost them the game and i dont blame jaylen for dippin outta the gym.
Reese Hammie number 3 on foothill lost them the game because he called a timeout he didn't have. 2 free throws. The refs should know they have no more timeouts, and that's what the couch was arguing about. It wasn't his fault at all
It's the coach's job to tell his kids that they are out of timeouts. Plus the other team was only going to get 2 FTs. The game definitely wasn't over until the coach got the two technicals. He made a lot of mistakes that cost his team the game.
Red Solo Cup - It's not the refs' responsibility to know if teams have timeouts left, and even if he knows he has to grant the timeout if it's legally called.
travz21 the game WAS over because it was a tech on one of Black's players for callin TO so the team shooting freethrows gets the ball back. And that means black would have to foul agin leading to more free throws with only 1.5
The game was tied. It wasn't over if he missed both free throws (which he did on his first 2).
"Eh eh eh I don't know what's going on ayeeeee"
0 on the saints looks straight up prehistoric hahaha
At 1:58 you can clearly see #3 call timeout as soon as his team gets the rebound. An obvious technical foul if his team has no timeouts left (and in that scenario every player on the court should be aware whether they have remaining timeouts).
he followed the ref to the other end of the floor. he was on the court. they showed tremendous restraint. he should be suspended for more than a game.
I understand why jaylen walked off cause he was probably frustrated but if your a real team player you don't just leave your team like that
Jaylen looked pissed asf lol he looks ready to take everyone in the gym
A better love story than Twilight
Talk about the coach blowing the game for his team
He should have called the technical when the coach was on the floor approaching him, not when the coach was walking away. Also, his partners could have been more proactive/supportive.
I agree, his partners were not very supportive.
damn this school got some serious banner game
That coach is cashin the ref outside wit da draco
Truetalker07 😂😂
At the beginning of the clip, the ref comes in and signals an intentional foul. By rule, that is 2 shots AND the ball at the point of interruption. That is a major mistake that nobody seems to have realized.
BTW coach leaf took his last time out in between the two free throws so he should have told his players not to call a time out. It's his fault and he was trying to blame the officials. Checkout other clips to see the time out
I have never seen cheerleaders turn up this hard in a game before
I love Basketball 👍. Dam hit your free throws 😄
"Refs should have just ignored the timeout..." wtf lol
Lol... that coach has seen Hoosiers one too many times!!!!
I saw this a few years ago and it popped up again today. There is one thing that I missed when I first viewed. The last foul. I don't necessarily agree that it is a foul. It appears the defender stopped and established LGP(legal guarding position) which is both feet on the floor, facing the defender. Once LGP is established, defender is allowed, by rule, to jump straight up within his vertical plain. The rule also states that time and distance are NOT factors. Once the defender has established LGP, it is up to the dribbler to avoid contact.
Sounds just like New England Patriots Game in Shock losing too Philadelphia Eagles!
Jesus! What took the officials so long to eject the coach?!?!?
Sh!t, I wish I could get this excited by anything.
look at 4:17 number 17 lmaoooo!!!!
They (coach who drew technicals) apparently tried to call a timeout when they rebounded but the ref's missed it. Someone was saying they had no time-outs left, but the video and description doesn't support either way (that I can see, duh). Coach was upset, the ref was obviously tired and didn't like the call being called BS. I can see both sides of it.
For those that say the coach is completely to blame, sorry no. I was a ref for 2 years and this isn't necessarily the reason why I quit refing games. Refing during that time was a way to make some extra money on the side. There have been and always will be parents/coaches that complain. Some do it less obtrusively than others. My rule has always been unless they can no longer control themselves, don't make physical threats, and don't disrupt the game-flow (for the most part) then the game goes on. In this situation, see my below points.
If I was Official: I'm not blowing a technical in that situation unless the coach makes contact or I feel saliva from his mouth.
If I was Coach: I'm not going to run up and yell full throttle to a ref. But I'm probably going to go up to him and tell him he missed the time-out.
It's important to remember (when a coach) the ref has complete dictation of situations like this. It's important to be empathetic to them when you approach them to point out discrepancies.
It's also important to remember (as a ref) that the coaches, this invested in the outcome of game, are going to be sensitive to possible discrepancies.
Best tactical thing to do in both cases, is just to take a deep breath (and exhale) before engaging in dialog.
In this instance both parties are to blame for the game's outcome.
Who else see that double dribble last play
Te official may have deemed that a fumble... not a dribble. I do understand your question though.
Yeah, that's a "fumble" (or I've seen it called a "muff") and does not constitute a dribble.
Have to actually pick the ball Up 2b called for DD...
bkb is full of double dribble, traveling and carrying the ball. no one cares about the rules anymore. just make it easy for the offense to score.
Lmao how many step doe nba player Take to shoot and none of referee called a travel so who care?
So nobody else peeped that double dribble by #0 with time left on the clock down 3 ?? or am i tripping lol
Played a few games in that gym as a visitor. A real nut house. Our bus needed a police escort off the campus.
Ignore the TIMEOUT???? did I read correctly??? You must be joking? Rules are rules!
2:00 your welcome
Nothing like wonderful sportsmanship, self control and applauding a great game! This clip makes me wish sport played like this was forcibly banned because of all the lunatics it creates (and encourages) and that basketball had never been invented....
