@@CatalystOfFire You can sew the boot on the frame with a needle and thread, using the existing staple holes, I did this on a Kia Ceed which is a similar design.
@@declansgamereview6523 It's super easy. The plastic surround at the base pops out if you dig your fingers in to unclip it. The hole in the boot is large enough it just stretches over the ring. Took me less than 10 minutes and no need to disassemble the centre console.
@@Alliwantedwasapepsi Thanks that is a relief then. I just tried now after reading your comment and your are right - stretching the material over the ring works. I just got an offcut of leather so I am going to trace the old one and sew myself a new one. Super excited.
Music is good, makes me want to get to work. And thank you for helping us do it yourselfers get busy!
I'm so glad to hear all of this. So it's time for work.

Παρακαλώ φίλε μου❤
Great step-by-step! Thanks!
You are welcome my friend
But how does one remove the actual leather shift boot from the plastic piece? I'm trying to replace just the leather on my Corolla.
Just take of the staplers thats holding it
@@ytfuji4648 You're absolutely right! Unfortunately I don't have a good staple gun to put the new one on lol
CatalystOfFire i just replaced mine right now and it was long enough that I didn’t even need to staple it, And its holding pretty good

Have you changed a boot on the 6 speed? It has a little ring you pull up to engage reverse.
No I have not changed it. Sorry
Did you come right with the 6 speed ? I want to attempt it this week but the ring is throwing me off
