    A lot of artistry type channels show us the awesome skills of the channel’s creator, with time lapses of stunning artworks being created in what seems to be an effortless way, while a pleasant monologue gently tells us about the artist and their work. These channels are wonderfully entertaining but are a little like magic shows that seem to tell you how the magic is done but still leave you astounded at the magic and none the wiser.
    This channel is also entertaining and enjoyable but it also actually teaches us how to paint.

    I think this is one of your most helpful videos for a beginner. It's great to have all of the flat wash tips together in one place. One thing that has really helped me is your recommendation to use a much larger brush. Before I found your channel, I had been trying to use a #6 round for everything, because some other RUclipsr had said, "That's really all you need."

    • @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
      @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber  Год назад +4

      Well you can get by with one brush... I would personally choose a size 10/12 if stuck on a desert island. And if you only painted small florals a size 6 might do. I don't think you need 50 different brushes, but a couple of large and small round and a big flat is a good start :-)

    I've gotten the most wonderful white ceramic ramekins at the charity shops to use for custards and just the right amount of French oinion soup. Just 25 to 50 cents each. But then I used them to mix up large flat washes. So I won't use them for cooking now.😂

    Such a useful tutorial. The two things that I found most useful were using the leading edge for large areas and the fine dabbing of excess puddles. I have just tried the latter and it worked really well
    My biggest nemesis still is not making a large enough mix. I need to get my tubes out to do this rather than rely on my filled half pans ❤
