Add Rain to your Photos with Photoshop

Learn how to add rain to a photo with this easy-to-create rain effect for Photoshop CC and CS6. As with all of my tutorials, I cover every step so that everyone, even beginners, can follow along.
Along with learning how to make it rain, I also show you how to keep the rain effect fully editable using Smart Filters and adjustment layers in Photoshop. That way, you'll be able to go back and adjust the amount of rain, the direction the rain is falling from, and the overall brightness and contrast of the effect.

Hey stumbled across this and love it, but now I can't save the file because it exceeds the 2 gig limit. Is it because of converting the rain into a smart object? How can I fix this?

You should mention that people should crop that new layer created. Because of the scale 400% and smart filter, it makes the file really big and you can't save it in TIFF (it's over 4gb on a 24MP image)
