  • Originating in the Song Dynasty (960-1279), the Wuzu Fist is classified as the southern fist style. It is known to merge features of five fists in one: the fierceness of the Taizu Fist, the elasticity of the Baihe Fist, speed of the Xingzou Fist, body movements of the Dazun Fist, and posture of the Arhat Fist. On June 7, 2008, the Wuzu Fist was officially included in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage. Zhang Xiaofeng is an inheritor of the Wuzu Fist. He has been fond of traditional martial arts since childhood. He learned from Su Zaifu, a renowned master of the Wuzu Fist. The master taught him how to develop determination and confidence to master the difficulty of practicing complicated techniques. After 37 years of practicing martial arts, Zhang has won many competitions. #Chinakungfu #十三亿分之一

    This is one of the ancestral styles of karate, and through that taekwondo, and through these 2 arts, kickboxing, and through kickboxing, MMA.
    Don't diss the effectiveness without understanding the influence and the context, for the masters that inherit the art, it is more than that, it is about tradition, identity, and a sense of well being. Your modern polished striking has to come from somewhere, and you're looking at a snapshot of it's development.
    Whether it's worth training or not, it is a personal matter to you.

    I respect MMA fighters because they make a claim and get in the ring to prove it.
    Master Zhang made no claim in this video. He merely expressed his love of practising Wuzuquan.
    All you keyboard MMA guys who say he should get in the ring to prove himself, *you* go to Quanzhou and challenge him if it's that important to you.
    Do let us know how you get on.

      It easy to answer. This guy has his own business. If he's the same as the one that Karate Nerd interview in his youtube channel, then this guy is a businessman. He has several business. So why would a person who has already has business and money go to the ring and fight, just in order to proof that his martial art is number one in this world? He's not an athlete, he doesn't need money from the ring fight. He train Wuzu quan for the betterment of himself. So why would he enter the right against Xu Xiandong then?

    It looks like the Chinese culture is getting slowly but surely destroyed,most Chinese have no idea about traditional teachings of Daoism,Buddhism,Qigong,Wugong,because the system puts children under a lot of pressure to learn different things in school. Also I've noticed since about 2013 or even earlier the movies about great Chinese classics such as Journey to the West,Madame White Snake and others have the original story changed and the young generation which does not have time to read gets the fake story only. I was hoping the global elite thay is controlling the West and is destroying family and national values all over is not controlling China,but now I am not so sure ,anyway I hope China is not controlled by them, it remains to be seen in the future...

    This looks like another martial art which wouldn’t work in real life. More like dancing and theater than a useful skill to defend yourself. Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing, wrestling, all much more useful and proven in the ring and in the streets.

    • @TheStrataminor
      @TheStrataminor 4 года назад +3

      Actually as a Kung Fu practitioner, and someone who has struggled with this question, Kung Fu is more practical than most would think, as really, if you move your arms fast enough, you can block a lot of incoming punches and kicks, and this martial art has been around for the best part of a 1000 years, it definitely wouldn't have lasted unless it had faced real life and death battles. Kung Fu has enough simple blocks and attacks to get you through the critical 10-30 seconds that most fights last for (if you train your reflexes and stay calm!!).
