Brilliant. Thank you. Just seeing how the pump works really helped with adjusting it.

Just installed mine . Won’t go down to 5-6. Even when the set screw is backed off all the way. I’m doing this, thanks for the video, exactly what I was looking for.

Thank you for this. Just installed and can’t go below 4.5 psi. Webers need 2-2.5 psi.

OMG. I just fixed my issue with this video. The psi was too high for inlet needle with the setting backed all the way out. I compressed the spring by 2mm and cut 3mm off the pin, now the case sits flush and barely touching the ball bearing.

In Holly rebuild kit they have a high presure and low presure spring. What happens when you shorten the pin is streching the diaphram to where the life of it is shortened.

My brand new Holley Regulator does the same thing. Kinda crap-o-la. My older one works fine (same model.)

Great idea I got a Evil Energy reg 6 months ago it failed looks just like that one I was having problems getting to 3 psi with it anyway so great idea to clip that pin.

That is some nice work Paul. I have never had need before but I do remember hearing people cussing about them.

You'd think that they would be able to build it right. There is a great deal of stuff i buy that i have to modify.

You should send this to Holley quality control so they can fix it! Maybe they'll even give you some credit!

Great work Paul, never thought of that before. The preload would definitely cause an issue.

Yea should have done this years ago. Idles better, pulls of the line without stumbling, and hot starts better. When sitting at the lights idleing it would slowly be over fueling then stumble and splutter off thr line .

Hi there, only just saw your Video. I have a '66 Hillman Gazelle running x2 Weber 42DCOE carbies. So assume 3 psi is appropriate pressure. Have a question, just fitted a SAAS pressure gauge to my Holley fuel pressure regulator. When ign. switched on only get 1/2 psi. Does car need to be running to get a correct pressure reading on gauge? Thanks, Murray in Brisbane.

I have this on a Triumph TR6 with dual Weber MCHH side drafts. I have been told the Holly regulator is junk, wont hold a steady pressure, runs too high of pressure, and I need to change to a Malpassi. Now I understand why. I did order a Malpassi, but I may try this hack before I go to all the trouble of swapping them out, especially because they mount differently. What do I have to lose???

Is the fuel reg a dead head type or bypass type?

I have a new Holley 12-803 and with it adjusted all the way out, I get 7psi for a 4.5 to 9 psi range! I will try what you've stated here tomorrow. I did notice that it started at about 5psi when the electric pump was turned on and then seconds later it would go up to 7 psi. Have you noticed it drifting up after start up? Thanks.

Yea, i belive the liquid filled guages wonder a bit. I must try letting the fluid out to see what happens.
