This was lovely. I felt sorry for Jim. I honestly thought he was going to remain alone in his goldfish bowl forever. I'm so glad he escaped. He might find it difficult to source food in the beginning, and he might miss TV, but I'm really hoping Jim thrives in the outside world. It was only a twelve minute story, but it left me really wanting to know how he adapts to a life of freedom.
im sure at 100% human is afraid of freedom ! they say freedom freedom but they dont move they only dream of.. action is prohibited according to the rules of politics and ofc stupid people swallow hehehe :))
Well, he needs to find food, water and shelter, and will need firewood to make a fire, so he will probably cut that tree down, then the female will go into a depression for losing the tree and he will get kicked out of there.
Great mention. That's one part of this story writing I enjoyed. Even though he had access to influences by television, the character Jim wasn't mean, judging or cruel. He had some unrealistic expectations of Caz, and he seemed content if not happy at this stage in his life (in-captivity). He legitimately wanted to share everything he was given (by the cyborgs) with Caz. So much to say. Thank you for your stimulating comment!
@imabigcookie1 Fair enough... Fair enough... ...but ok, what about blowing bubbles in our chocolate milk...as adults, there'd be no one to stop us..!! (evillaugh)
It's become rather fascinating to see how difficult the "Throwback Thursday" concept is for some people to understand. I remember when we had nothing but re-runs all summer long -- and we had to watch those while walking 11 miles to school, uphill both ways! 😁
My thoughts are that DUST isn't getting enough new submissions to justify their current schedule. I don't mind watching these again, but I'm not sure DUST deserves the views for re-posting old material. I believe the creators should get the lion's share of the revenue from the views.
@@daniel_wilkinson As I think I suggested some time ago, the material included in the channel makes up a huge library of little science fiction gems. A library that will outlive us. The dreams, visions, predictions, hopes and fears of the different filmmakers cover an extensive number of short film productions that Dust is responsible for compiling. And just as you don't go to a library just to read the new books, the channel cleverly plays its role of promotion and consultation.
@@thaska6106 It's a library all right, but a library of garbage with a few diamonds sprinkled in. Unfortunately you have to wade through a mountain of trash to find a good one.
that would be nice. but probably you need to go most of the way towards cultural participation. it's surely woth it! maybe try cartoons for your learning routine, no need to memorize word-by-word, usage is always in context and you get tons of contact with the language. (rick and morty helped me alot to get started with English)
I love how it keeps us away from the all darkness that must be in this place as the robots and AI have taken over its world and just allows it to be a cute and simple love story.
He was happy. Watching TV in pajamas, eating TV dinners which are pretty good lately. He had his friends and hobby's. Then suddenly his live changed 🤣🤣
The Paradise problem. If you have just a guy nothing strange happens. If you put a girl close to a guy the fun begins. DUST, thanks for the throwback, its one of the best shorts ever.
It is not explicitly stated but you have to assume that Jim is genetically engineered to be content with his circumstances, and yet he chooses to break free. Cute.
Excellent movie. Loved the characters and interactions. This could be expanded upon with another. Prequel and/or Sequel. You could feel emotion of the actors portrayed. Jim had to of been there for a long time, judging by the cereal toys. I especially liked that part.
He is going to miss the shit, out of that heated toilet seat...and shit tickets..!! The way he mirrors each external stimuli...xD Also, she couldn't use condiments to express herself creatively..!? _Aloy's_ descendants... ...from _H'0'D..._ xD
I had to watch this twice to understand the last scene. What I thought were rocks were actually huts, so there is a small community of humans living away from the A.I. The A.I. captured the female from there. It was easy for them to escape as the A.I. did not think they would want to leave what they believed was the ideal human habitat.
"What I thought were rocks were actually huts" I think you were right to begin with: They are rocks. They would be awfully small for huts. And would she sit on a hut, and risk damaging it?
This is always one of my favorites!!❤️ Jim represents all of us. The workers are the government. Guess that makes his house the world. No idea what the girl represents? Bezos on this 🚀 getting up outta our world onnnn to the next world.YEEET! I guess the people watching are 👽 ....... BRUH I'm high af. RN So forgive my rant. It took me 6 hours to write this 🤣🤣 ANYBODY WANNA 🚬🥰🥰
So nice! Fresh idea, really anxious in some parts, and Jim was the cutest! Though I just feel like this would have been perfect with some more background explanation. I do have a few questions: What are the cyborgs? Assuming that Earth now is populated only by those humanoid machines, like in the ending of A.I., are all the remaining humans like Jim chased and abducted? Was Jim created in a lab or was he abducted as a kid?
is the movie he is watching an old movie I dont know about? or just a cheeky scene this grup made for the short? as in "we need him to be watching a movie at the start, make a romantic scene and make it cheesee"
so many questions, and i guess that's intented so. like, how many humans live out there? what are the others, robots? metahumans? (i tend to say robots, but i'm not certain why they would mimic humans to the point of inefficient data collection. maybe for the "individual experience"?) what is the meaning of the movie? criticism of zoos? warning that we will some day endanger ourselves? like always, i would like to even pay for seeing more, but any continuation of the story is up to our own minds.
Redheads are always worth escaping for. Great movie.
It's refreshing to see a sci-fi short that's upbeat and pleasant as opposed to the near constant barrage of darkness and nihilism. Nice work.
@ss-bi4fr more nihilistic than Adam & Eve in paradise?
Finally someone made the escape plan so simple and it actually worked.
If you never experienced it you can't miss it. That's why Jim was happy .
Not necessarily true.
I like the way he gives up his bondage of self to change for a better existence.
I would gladly take Jim's place in the exhibit.
maybe our earth is like this.....!!!

Probably doesn’t bode well for him Lol

I'm guessing there are more women in the wild though.
Well, he needs to find food, water and shelter, and will need firewood to make a fire, so he will probably cut that tree down, then the female will go into a depression for losing the tree and he will get kicked out of there.
Jim was so endearing and innocent.

Does anything in our adult lives, ever make us happy as when we found the plastic toy at the bottom of the cereal box..??
No

It doesnt matter what Jim and her do beyond this story. What matters is that you keep turning out little gems like this. Well done!

Bravo. Very well done. I actually cared about the characters. That's 50% right there.
yeah the perfect idiot man of the 21th century hehehe :))
Honestly?

It would suffice not to PREVENT RUclips from adding it. Here subtitles are switched of deliberately.
The specimens have been successfully introduced to their new outdoor enclosure after initial setbacks in the breeding program.

Wonderful short film, congratulations to all.

5:54 i would have laughed if he asked her if she had a twin sister. But "are you gonna come?" was pretty good too.
Was Jim the guy who played Kenny when they went zip lining and it went to live action
Such a sweet tale.
This was adorable. I don't agree that this should be a whole movie. This was the perfect length
Very enjoyable short with a satisfying end.
humans need fresh air and the sun and vitamin D how is he not sickly for being trapped all the time. Jim's is kinda cute in an innocent puppy way
Vitamin supplement
Throwbacks are a good idea. I really enjoyed this show the first time and now! Excellent production from concept to finish!
Wonderful, in the full meaning of the word. Thank you very much.
It's a nice retelling of what happened when mankind accepted the gift of fire. The wrath of the Greek gods was horrible. They sent them women.
Jim is a total rebel.
Wow, I love this short... terrific
This story was great. It had a Truman Show vibe to it that I really enjoyed
You seem like the only real comment 😂 I know they pay probly people to write comments on here
Cutest thing ever. And wow those deep brown eyes make me blue.
Well done short. One of the best I've seen.
I could definitely see a full length movie evolve from this. I wanna know more about the characters and their world.
The Paradise problem. If you have just a guy nothing strange happens. If you put a girl close to a guy the fun begins.
DUST, thanks for the throwback, its one of the best shorts ever.
Excellent. Some real blast from the past vibes

It literally said raised in captivity
I like it even better than the first time I saw it.
Everything was ok until she came 😂
That speaks volumes doesn’t it?
@@deepsleep7822 Indeed it does! Male = Order; Female = Chaos.

Jim was awesome!
Love the teddy bear shower curtain
This was sooo good. ughhh.
This was the short that made me subscribe years ago
Wow. this is top draw writing and acting 🙂
Seen this one before, it's lovely
Enjoyed the short, thanks!
Seeing Minnie Driver in a lot of these lately. Cool! Thanks for bringing your talent to my favorite form of media, short stories!
Excellent! Bravo! DVD:)
Shows how isolated and lonely men have become. It's like Plato's Cave.
Downright devious illegal rizz
I had to watch is second time. Very well made and heartwarming :)
"Hi I'm Jim" "Are you Jim?...OH SHIT" "I WILL NEVER EVER PROCREATE WITH YOU"
Throwback Thursday. Good!
That kind of reminded me of Plato's analogy of the cave
Excellent movie. Loved the characters and interactions. This could be expanded upon with another. Prequel and/or Sequel.

More those kinda episodes plz
Very loveable 'Hue-Monnz'

A+ film, what a way to start over, Adam and Eve break away from AI.

I bet he realised - after leaving the captivity - to be happier there. Especially, because the female seemed very bossy.
So, basically a Shawshank Redemption in future?

No words are required to understand such a story with deep message to humanity.

The Human Zoo
Engrossed. Until it all made sense until it didn't.
POV: you act as simple as the escape plan
what a beautiful allegory for our terminally online society
It had nothing at all to do with that. It was about a human exhibit in a zoo.

Truly original ideas are so hard to come by. Upvoted for being well acting and shot. Good sound, good score.
I agree and this one is almost a shot for shot copy of an episode of Twilight Zone or maybe Outer Limits.

Las Reversiones, pónganlas con los subtítulos.
The Throwback, put them with the subtitles.

Maybe the sky and the tree shown at the end was also fake
That would be dark😱
