Wiim Amp is awesome if you aren't the type to go above 85db all that much which is like 99% of my listening. $250 is a no brainer if you are doing a turntable and apple play. Sounds excellent with my Wharfedale 8.1
I bought the BR03s in 2021, they cost 407$ including Triangle speaker cables. They are the best cheap speakers I have had, I have tried some others, but never (until now maybe) found someone better overall, even 2-3 times more expensive ones, some have been better at some stuff, but not overall better. By overall I mean for ALL kinds of music, and movies and video games. Now I have Polk Legend 200 speakers, they are the first speakers I have heard in my room that is possible better overall than the Triangle ones, but they are much more expensive. (I did buy demo speakers though) They actually sounded very good straight out of the box. I do find it hard to compare speakers though, since you get used to the sound and all that. I would probably always recommend the BR03s if you do not have any speakers. Hard to beat them for the money. They are better than for example Elac Debut B6.2, in all aspects, also in looks! The Elacs really look awful I think, so it is not hard to better there.. I have very good hearing and I do not like to listen to very loud volumes.
What timing! Not two hours before seeing this ordered both the WiiM Ultra and the Borea BR03s. Both looked like crazy deals to this novice. Thanks for the timely seal of approval!
I neve🎉r understood Randy's slightly negative review of the BR03s back in the day and certainly haven't experienced the veiled midrange he mentions at all - quite the opposite in fact. I chose them in FAR preference to the reviewers darling, the Elac UB5.2. The BR03s are absolutely stunning speakers and they get even better with break in. I'm still using them nearly 4 years later and have little incentive to 'improve' on them. To do better I'd have to go to something like the Kef R3 Meta, but they are more than 4x what I paid for the Triangles and nearly 7x the cost of the Triangle now. Diminishing returns and all that. They're a seriously good speaker
Mrs. Clause bought me the WiiM Ultra!! sooo excited to open this present on Christmas Day! Also purchased the WiiM Amp for my 5 year old sons bedroom; going to be giving him my vintage JBL 62 bookshelf speakers ❤
Thanks to this channel I picked up my first Triangle BRO3’s about six months ago for my front channels. They are that good I purchased another pair three months ago for the rear channels. Purchased both pairs from Adorama in the open box deals. I purchased the mahogany version. Beautiful speakers. Bass is absolutely amazing for bookshelf’s. I almost don’t need a when listening to music in two channel. I actually had to turn the bass down. Previous to these speakers I had Sony towers for front and rear. The Sony towers are 180W and 150W speakers. Triangle are 100W. Powered by a low budget Onkyo NR696 AVR. I can’t wait to pull the trigger on a separate pre-amp and amplifiers. Might go with Schiit, Emotiva or something of the like. I think two 2 channel amps and a mono amp for the center channel or a really powerful 5 channel amp will get it done. What say you Randy?
I bought the Yamaha on sale a few years ago ($129 I think). For the price it's great...if you don't need a DAC or photo preamp. The sound for basic RCA in and class A/B out can't be beat for a new product.
Randy doesn’t like the br03 as much as other reviewers . In my humble opinion , they are much better than he claims . Had them for two years and found them best bang for the buck under 500$ . I had them paired with the audiolab 6000A play . Wonderful match . I now switched for br09 , a friend sold them for 700$ cad . I sometimes miss my br03 !
I bought another pair of Goldwood speakers that doesn't get mentioned on this channel. Acoustic Audio AA251B. I paid $45.88 on Amazon. It has more frequency in the lower bass range at 8 ohm instead of 6 ohm on the Goldwood DPI speakers. They are both the same size. I wish some people would learn that when it comes to good speakers under 10 inches they have options and don't need big ass loud speakers. They just need very good surround speakers but from this channel it's all about the front 2.
Great suggestions as always. Too bad that our prices in Canada 🇨🇦 are so much higher. Just ordered a pair of Polk Audio XT15’s for $175 CDN regularly $249 CDN.
I was wondering when one of you reviewer guys was going to mention the BRO3s. I've had a pair now for three weeks. They sound good and look gorgeous. And at this current price they don't make my wallet cry.
Returned the Mini and ordered the Ultra yesterday. I also decide this morning to go to 4 channel so am returning the M2100 and ordered the BasX A4 from Emotiva. With the sale price plus discount it was $439.20!!
$80 for the S.M.S.L A50 PRO HiFi Power Amplifier/DAC. HDMI, Type C, Optical and 3.55mm inputs. With outputs for a passive sub, and EQ controls. seems to be a decent solution for a desktop system. 70X2 at 4 ohms, Sub 100w at 2 ohms.
Those look cool but I have 100 pair of speakers I can't buy anymore stereo equipment have a great holiday thanks to the great videos I got to figure out what stereo I'm going to repair next and I'm old geezer stereo
I still watch these great deal updates even though so often these deals (or even the products on occasion) aren't available here in the UK. For example the most common price for a Wiim ultra here in the UK is around £350 currently. That's about $440......$263 you say? I want to weep!
Another stereo receiver option along with the Sony and the Yamaha is the Onkyo TX-8220. I have it and prefer it to my old Sony STR-DH190. It has a DAC, subwoofer out, speaker binding posts, and standard 75 ohm FM antenna connection. I think all its outputs sound better than the Sony.
That is why it is crap. But it was crap already. It is not a much better more analog dac than the Nano has. Probably better buy the multibit or r2r Powerdac BX dacs or maybe the Burson dac or Ares for a more analog signature 🤔

The back brackets on the Polks can rattle at certain frequencies... (I'd owned Polk in the past, and went with the ES20's). They needed to be returned and so I went with Wharfedale Diamond 12.2's. Super happy.
If you're looking for a DAC/preamp the Topping E30 ii Lite is available on Amz at $84 (was $100). The RS202 has been as low as $100 on Amz. In both cases I recommend looking up the ASR technical reviews, I think you'll like what they have to say, cheers!
Funny thing is I actually have a 5.3 Polk Signature (not Elite) theatre system and also CerwinVega! SL12 two channel system and the CerwinVega! Is much better than the Polks imo. And anyone who has listened. The Polks have perhaps a touch more sparkle at lower volumes. But that’s about all they do better. P.S. I appreciate both systems. But the Vegas! Are simply just un appreciated and not taken seriously.
Considering those Polk ES-20... think that'd pair well with a low watt tube amp for 2ch listening? With sound stage and imaging in mind? Don't think I've really heard much of Polk. Know the name of course, but my main speakers are B&W bookshelfs, which I love the mids
@ the Polks will be allot warmer than your B&W. honestly I’m not sure how they would do with tube gear. I’m not experienced with it. The Polks are a nice speaker though. i have the "wiim amp" since the first hour with the buchardt audio p300 and i am super satisfied. i am waiting for the wiim amp 2 with 2x200w at 4ohm and then i will be more than satisfied.
Got the Triangles on Black Friday two years ago for $300. I’ve enjoyed them. Good dispersion and separation, but mid bass clarity and punch is not happening. Recommend at that price
I auditioned those on a Rega Brio and a Naim Unity Atom and found them to be the most boring speakers I've ever heard to the point I started playing on my phone and forgot I was listening to them. I don't get the hype.

Randy- been thinking of getting the Elac Debut 3 with the 6 1/2” woofer for front speakers and stereo music listening. If you were spending approximately $450- would this speaker be the one you would get? I don’t have the funds to buy several speakers in this price range and compare them in my house. It’s a great all around speaker. But a little rolled off on top. If you want a lot of top end detail you should also consider the Emotiva XB1’s. I think the Polk R100’s are also on sale around $450
The Triangle BR03 speaker could be had for $350 more than 3 years ago. Haven't seen them for sale for any more than that for a long time including the new colour/finishes of that model.
I knew Paul Klipsch. Very odd guy. He was a pilot, he flew himself everywhere. He wore three watches on each wrist so that wherever he landed he already had a watch set to the right time zone. Because of all his flying I don't think he could hear anything over about 8,000 Hz. Which explains why his speakers had miraculous low end, excellent midrange, and a very weird top end. After he died the focus on horns was tuned down and the top end got a bit more normal.

I recently built a low watt, 2ch tube amp that sounds amazing. Looking for a pair of bookshelfs to pair with. (Was considering a scanspeak kit but only comes w plans) Really looking for the best soundstage I can get. There's a lot of detail in this little tube amp! Any of these (or other bookshelfs) to consider? Also I am very new to this Wiim stuff. Was considering that Ultra as a DAC to run into the amp. Is that something that would pair well with that sort of thing? Looking for the best sound more so than the features. Thanks!

Hi mate, any chance you could test the burson v7 vivid opamps in the fosi za3 and compare them to the sparcos..? Being in Australia, it's a very expensive process to test and return if it's not good..! 😊
Question about the Wiim. Considering I have a Yamaha A-S801 amp with sac and phono input. Can I use Apple TV for airplay instead of Wiim? Or is Wiim still better somehow for me? I just now heard of this product and not sure what it offers me.
I owned the Yamaha S202 and did not like it. Underwhelming, but if you're on a tight budget and need something for a turntable that has a phono pre-amp or a cheap Bluetooth gadget, it's okay.
I actually returned the BR03 speakers after trying to make it work for a week. Same white wood finish. SO veiled! Like a wet towel was draped on the speakers. Not for me.
the rp-500ms stunk. i had them and also had the r51ms and they were better. rp-500ms had terrible sound stage and were pretty dull sounding. they're supposed to be a step up from the r51m.
Think you answered exactly my question. Wondering about soundstage on any of these. I recently built a lower wattage tube amp that sounds beautiful, and looking for a pair of bookshelfs with great soundstage to pair with it. Not the Klipsch huh? Any thoughts on the others?
Pushing Cerwin Vegas? 😂😂😂😂😂 Btw, the Yamaha R-S202 is quite lack luster and lacking in every aspect sonically. Had one, upgraded to a Rega IO which is leagues better sonically. If you can't afford that, at least save up a little more and get something else.
A year ago I bought open box speakers from Crutchfield and the speakers were flawless. It’s pretty much someone buys an item takes them out of the box doesn’t like them then returns it back to Crutchfield for the next customer that would like those speakers at a discounted price it’s a huge win
I got my KEF Q150's open box looked like all they did was cut open the box to look inside retaped the box came in great shape got them for $219 with the $20 off for the slower shipping. They are working great.

WhT about the emotiva black Friday sale?
I'm just here for the coffee.
Randy , instead of struggling to describe the "positive feedback" on the amps , just describe it as "superheterodyne" for the amp section.
Somebody must have mentioned the resemblance to Walter White
Just bought a pair of moon voice 22 by simaudio!
It seems the parent company of Klipsch and dozens of other brands might be heading for bankruptcy. Maybe we all should catch them while we can.
Love the 202
Are the Atmos Version on these Triangle Speakers also on Sale?
the rp-500ms stunk. i had them and also had the r51ms and they were better. rp-500ms had terrible sound stage and were pretty dull sounding. they're supposed to be a step up from the r51m.
Think you answered exactly my question. Wondering about soundstage on any of these. I recently built a lower wattage tube amp that sounds beautiful, and looking for a pair of bookshelfs with great soundstage to pair with it. Not the Klipsch huh? Any thoughts on the others?
@JerboFotius yes klipsch just not the rp-500m. I can vouch for the Klipsch RP-600M II.
@@thedynamicd85 any thoughts/exp on those Polks in the beginning?
@JerboFotius haven't used Polk since tsi100 which were decent but lacked bass.
@@thedynamicd85 appreciate it man. Was leaning towards those Klipsch specifically w sound stage/imaging in mind so I'm glad I saw this.
Anyone know of Schitt deals coming for Black Friday or Cyber Monday?
Any subs out there available to pair with my Micca RB42/Fosi TB10D?
Br03 have been under $300 per pair many many times and including right after they came out
Geeze
I understand that you got to make a living here. But it seems to me, that there is more selling going on now, than information about the hobby.
Why have you never reviewed mission speakers
Stay away from any amp which has higher that 1%THD.
That yamaha amp uses spring clip connectors....im surprised that even on a cheap amp like that uses those..
Bluesound Nano has usb digital output. To pair with decent DDC and/or DAC, Wiim is faaar behind with spdif and shi***y optical output…
Pushing Cerwin Vegas? 😂😂😂😂😂
Btw, the Yamaha R-S202 is quite lack luster and lacking in every aspect sonically. Had one, upgraded to a Rega IO which is leagues better sonically. If you can't afford that, at least save up a little more and get something else.
Denon AVR-S970H $500.00
Hi Fi Igloo? What if I have a Hi Fi WigWam?
great job
Polk legend l100 x $399

Anyone had any experience with Crutchfield Open Box speakers? Is it worth going open box vs new.
Cool, thanks!
Why is the preview audio in French 😂
Where is JBL A130
Mas tudo hoje é baseado na versão anterior melhorada.
"Sherwin Vega"??????????????????????
C'mon man, say it correctly.
It's in French????
Go into settings and change the audio track back to the original English
@@spamcan9208 I did, still French. Came back an hour later it's English!!
Cheap audio man has transformed into a well-paid spokesman for a number of audio companies. They're like infomercials now.
Shamwow guy was legit
