Serving Time
• Once the popcorn is ready and the seasoning is mixed, it’s good to serve immediately.
Ingredients
• 1 tablespoon butter
• 1 teaspoon oil
• 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
• 1/2 teaspoon red hot chili powder (adjust based on spice level)
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1 teaspoon amchur powder (dry mango powder)
• 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
Method
1. Pop the Popcorn
• Pour 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels into an air popper (without adding butter or oil).
• Alternatively, you can pop the corn on the stovetop with a little oil or butter.
2. Prepare the Spice Mixture
• In a pan, heat the butter and oil together.
• Add the chaat masala, red chili powder, garlic powder, amchur powder, and salt. Mix well.
3. Prevent Burning
• Quickly add 2-3 tablespoons of water to the spice mixture to prevent burning and allow the seasoning to cook properly.
• Cook until the spices are well-mixed and the oil rises to the top.
4. Combine with Popcorn
• Turn off the heat and pour the freshly popped popcorn into the pan.
• Toss for 1-2 minutes, making sure the seasoning is evenly distributed.
5. Serve & Enjoy
• Transfer the popcorn to a bowl, and enjoy your flavorful Masala Popcorn!
