My parents were not religious, they believed, but it was not that important to them. In any case, no other folk music resonates with me so much on a spiritual level as scandinavian. From rhythms and instruments to trans-like vocals and lyrics - all of it deeply puts me in a state I can not experience in any other way. Unity with the Infinite, with nature, with spirits. It is very astonishing to me that such a deep religious experience I can experience only by listening scandinavian folk like Danheim, Heilung and Wardruna. Almost my entire life I was either an atheist or an agnostic, but for several years now I am realizing that if gods and spirits exist, they, among other things, are in music.
