A version of the "Jazz" era of the opening titles which ran from 200-2003.
These specific ones are from July 2002.
Don’t care how some may find soaps cheesy. One show that connects generations and still going . I am 41 and was watching this show with my mom growing up and still watching ! Favorite soap opening btw.
So THAT'S where the music for those CBS bumpers came from...

it was a crazy day when I found this out, same with the old b&b intro!
For those asking about the HD quality, Y&R was the first soap to actually make the transition about 20 years ago.
To see the early 2000s in HD while most of the world couldn't afford it is awesome
Even Y&Rs sister show couldn’t get HD until 2011 the rest of the soaps all started late.
@PhackFanForever Not so much HD as it was still in the 4:3 quality, but a slightly remastered viewing.
It's so weird seeing this opening in HD.

This opening was my favorite when I was a child. I remember watching this with my mom in her room and the saxophone and the beat of the drums and the logo at the end of the music was so interesting to me. Thanks for finding this

I call this the "Diva theme", and it was so reminiscent of the period, from the writing to the promos. I loved when Melody Thomas Scott turns dramatically.

@@Velvettyy_ Because the pandemic shut down everything that most soaps except Days of our Lives (which had 5 months of new episodes) reran OLDER episodes. CBS even showed the first 2 episodes of Y&R

Was that from last week's rerun? I heard how Y&R transitioned to HD in 2001 but could not find any examples. Interesting that this style intro was made in 1999. Beautiful!

I'm glad they went back to the original theme song. This one was awful😫
I agree somewhat; it wasn't really awful but Y&R fans from way back in the 70s & 80s were intensely attached to the original version. They tried modernizing and upbeating the song and it didn't work out. The song's title is Nadia's Theme dedicated to a 14 year old Romanian girl who got many virtually impossible perfect 10 scores in Olympic Gymnastics. This theme was just not written to be a fast paced, groovy tune. I'm glad they went back to the original.🎉🎉🎉🎉
