Here's the long awaited AOTD video I briefly mentioned about a week and a bit ago. It's quite a long one so apologies for that, but I did my best to cover everything I could to prevent the amount of questions I'd get in the comments. I've noticed that with just the time it took to make this, a lot of the pricing has outdated slightly but the cost margins between the Livid Dagger and AOTD are still mostly similar so the information still holds true. I will do my best to respond to all the comments on this video to try to clear up any confusion, though if you want to guarantee a response, join my discord and try to contact me through there. If you read the set bonus carefully, it says it buffs the AOTD "ABILITY" damage, which is the right click ability. I have tested this, I did not think this was going to be an issue, but clearly people still don't know how the Superior Dragon Armour works.
Hey soldier, this video is definitely interesting but i think that the gs vs aotd test was conducted very strangely, I don't know if you knew already but the wither skeleton is focused on damage over time instead of single hit damage, you could've used an epic tiger and it would've given you a much much better comparison, even ignoring the fact that wither skeleton is a dot pet, on the first hit you activated its perk during the dungeon test which gave it an extra 55000 damage, thus putting it clearly over the aotd. Also fot is worse for single damage but no one uses it for that as most people use it as a clearing weapon before they get a juju, or something to help getting combat exp for slayers. Nonetheless this is definitely an interesting video so great job on it
No hes trying to make it seem like aotd is better but he is using a dps pet and in the test where he used edrag in the dungeon he did 247k and gs with wither skeleton did 400k if u count in the first tick from the deaths touch perk, this clearly shows how much better a gs sword is. Also he is using superior which buffs the aotd by a lot, if he would have used superior for aotd and like a normal damage set like shadow assassin or necron for the giants sword it would be a lot more fair test.

Your stats were favored towards the aotd bc with silky you get wayy more crit damage and since you get more strength from the aotd it makes it balanced, making the giants sword be unbalanced as the crit damage stat is way higher than the strength stat
That would have increased the price of gs by a substantial amount. And in dungeons he probably had much more strength then cd so if anything the cd/str ration was more equal for gs
Well silky is 400 coins so it barely affects the price, so I see what you're trying to say, but bloody is 300k which is also negligible considering this test is done with 200m setups and gives equal amounts of strength and crit damage
@@yeetdragon2413 that’s true, I’d say doing the tests with bloody is more balanced outside dungeons, but inside silky is the only good way to balance strength and cd with the withered reforge. If he was using fabled it would 100% agree with you but he can’t because of the variation between hits
These damage tests, especially the ones at the start, trigger me because if you were to actually main a weapon, you would adjust the rest of your setup to match your strength and crit damage, increasing your damage. The AOTD happened to be better tuned to your setup used for all the damage tests, so it appeared as if the weapon did better than it actually would have if the stats were adjusted for the other weapons. This is also why the FOT did more than the livid dagger, which wouldn't at all be the case if the strength and crit damage were more balanced with the livid dagger.
To some degree, this is true, but you also have to take into account what the average skyblock player is going to do. Your average "early gamer" or "mid gamer" is going to use the silky power stone simply because everyone else says it's good, as well as whatever set they choose (I just happened to have superior, but shadow assassin is another option). Yes, I could go out of my way to accurately tune my stats to each weapon individually, however this would create a series of other factors that would also influence the tests in unfair ways, and regardless of how I test these weapons, I will forever get people telling me that "you did something wrong". This is probably the first comment I've read that isn't just pure misinformation though, so thanks for the constructive criticism.
@@ModernSoldier Yeah, it is true that regardless of how you were to do it, there would always be variables that you can't control, because that's just the nature of skyblock. Give these same weapons to a different account and the results might be drastically different, so giving a fair damage test that will be accurate to every player is impossible.
@@bheco4 And that's precisely why the discussion section of the video is so important, because acknowledging this is critical in assessing whether a weapon or weapon setup is worthwhile. For the average player, an AOTD + Dragon Pet isn't gonna be worth your while, but if you were someone lucky enough to drop a dragon pet, then it could be an option for more linear progression. Obviously this is extremely specific, and it's why the Giant's Sword generally speaking will be a better option.
@@ModernSoldieralso, the livid dagger is known for its backstab and bonus attack speed. So the dps would be 1.5x higher than it would without the attack speed. As for the backstab passive, I would suggest doing a backstab and a front stab and use the mean of the two

even though it is better with a dragonfuse gauntlet, in dungeons having a gauntlet of contagion is very useful for clearing with a juju/term (which will be the majority of your damage in dungeons anyways)
Yeah absolutely, a juju shortbow is going to be a better clearing option over an AOTD for dungeons. Still doesn't take away from the fact that the AOTD is a better melee option than a Livid Dagger and FoT with the glove though, which is what I was getting across in this video
@@ModernSoldier dragonfuse gives a damage bonus to aotd but not giants sword so its kind of unfair you could switch to another like molten while using gs.
Good video but we have to consider that the renowned reforge is in favor for all weapons except the giants sword because it buffs als stats besides from Damage that the weapon provides
@@Blue_Doge too bad, cuz it doesn't anymore. Aotd is better, it has a much better ability, it is an economical upgrade, and it saves you from trying to drop or buy a livid dagger. (That's called a progression skip)

At that point, you're petlocked to the Ender Dragon pet, armorlocked to Superior Dragon, and equipmentlocked to the Dragonfuse Glove to deal as much DPS (using both Leftclick and Rightclick) as possible with the AOTD. However, with the other weapons, you aren't so locked to specific equipment.
the superior dragon set only buffs the ABILITY of the atod which means if does not buff the left click dmg so no you are not locked to the superior dragon armour set its just he was using it for the test
PRESS READ MORE!!!!! Hey Guys! Just to let you know he uses Superior Dragon armor (Which he doesn't mention), which is one of the reasons that it is better than the FoT. He also claims that the AotD is better than the livid dagger but including the attack speed and the back stab this just isnt true as the Livid Dagger has more dps. Near the end of the video he puts on a [lvl 100] Ender Dragon pet for the AotD and compares it to a [lvl 100] Wither Skeleton and Giant's Sword, pretty much he straight up just makes the comparison completely unfair as it puts a 270m coin pet against a 2m pet (not to mention the Giant's sword still does more damage even with the horrible pet difference). Finally he claims that the AotD is "better" than the Giant's sword and does acknowledge that pretty much every weapon on this list is still better in terms of dps/price-for-damage, but this doesn't really help as he claims that at the very end of the video, making the audience wait through the whole video to finally give an answer. He also compares the AotD, FoT and Livid Dagger against slayer bosses to look at their true dps and he clearly has better aim for the AotD compared to the other 2. This whole video can also be combated by the whole player base, if the AotD was "better" sword than all of the other weapons on this list than it would take someone a week at max to find this, not over 6 months of this being possible. This is a decent video but just the amount of holes in the damage tests are just funny. So pretty much, DONT USE THIS AS A GUIDE FOR EARLY GAME PLAYERS.
yeah not to mention he used dragonfuse gauntlet on testing all the weapons instead of switching to molten bracelet and there’s absolutely no chance anyone would use a 2m pet with a 200m weapon that’s absurd
I pretty sure he was comparing total price and damage A level 1 dragon pet with AOTD is 200 mil While a giant sword by it self is 200 mil plus 2 mil wither skeleton If you give edrag to giant then you are comparing 200 mil to 400 mil And as other have said ability damage is what sup armor increase Still think you should just use an a giant sword and he could use a better pet for single hit
I bought an ATOD when I was mage-classing and now I just have an emotional connection to it and don't want to (and can't since I already donated it) sell it. So now I'm just trying to make it so as much damage as physically possible. At least enough to get me though the Nether.
The wither skeleton pet deals damage with one of it perks seperately from the main dmg so it dealt around 300k dmg (it deals dmg once per second but still has better dps then aotd with max attack speed). Also melee berserker isnt good right now for dungeons so inside dungeons tests arent that important. Melee weapons are useful for lcm but it only becomes good at very high cata levels at wich point u could afford a claymore and gdrag wich would deal more dmg than wither skeleton gs. Still suprised to see how much damage aotd does
Personnaly I believe that buying a giant sword is more worth it, due to the fact that you have to have equiped a specific pet and specific gear to reach the damage it does using an aotd. This video tho was impressive and really well made!
Well, of course if the point to the video was to demonstrate that in specific circumstances it can out damage the giant sword, it was done correctly, but to actually buy all this buffs and actually use the AOTD for actual game is just useless in certain way, (btw you were using superior dragon if im not wrong converting it into a 224-225m set up) so just buy the giant sword or shadow fury, and use another pet, as well as better armor, it would also would take the whole mid game sword point, plus superior armor buff would be taken out if you need a better armor choice, and even livid and AOTD plus the tails man (in dungeon of course) not worth it at all, (if strict NW) but outside it would be great for a 9 millon set up,
You also gotta realize the bonus attack speed for the livid dagger. It may be weaker, but it does more dps than the aotd, meaning it is somewhat better than you think.
@@feralsteve1768 my guy the livid dagger has +50% bonus attack speed + backstabs. What he is comparing is the DMG of each sword with just one hit that has nothing to do with dps.
@@zephryus2001 And u should look at the entire kit of a weapon that's what is important about that if u just boost something with a armor set + not using the abilites of those weapon then sure use ur raw dmg :)
(Read if you want to) The superior dragon set that he used for the outside dungeons test is superior dragon which is kind of restricting since superior costs ~ 35m coins as of writing this (I think) which gives a 5% overall stat boost to the AOTD. The dragonfuse glove still boosts the damage of the aotd, but by today's standards, no one uses superior dragon set. Also if you are closer to endgame you will be using armour sets like necron, warden helm e.t.c, Yet the AOTD can still do slightly more damage than the livid dagger and FOT if using the dragonfuse glove. Also, im not sure if this is a bug only for me only but when i am doing sven's, I sometimes randomly get a backstab even though i wasnt aiming for one which is a bug based on the hitboxes im assuming. In my opinion, sure the aspect of the dragons IS better than the livid dagger, BUT if you are using items that only give stat boosts to every weapon, the livid dagger might do slightly more damage than the AOTD and Ive done a test on my account (Full shadow assassin with livid fragments, clean aotd & livid dagger, no pet, no magic power, no necklace, cloak, glove, belt e.t.c) on a t4 revenant. The livid dagger ended up killing the revenant much faster than the AOTD, but im not sure if it was just from lucky ferocity. So in my eyes, Go for a AOTD For early game, and soon after when you feel you cant do enough damage with an aotd, Go for the livid dagger. I even tested with accessories but this test isnt fair because I had fabled on both, AOTD did 16.3k damage and Livid dagger did 25.5k damage. (Edit: I checked wiki, superior dragon armour doesnt just buff the AOTD, It gives a stat boost by 5% to every piece
Interesting. Now I think the point of this video is to bring up the AOTD, because it's just unknown by new players and forgotten by older players. In other words, it's very underrated and it's true. Also I think u should've included Warped reforge in the test, I'm curious to see how that effects it. NOTE: Also if u haven't played sb for a while, livid dagger has been nerfed quite a bit and shadow fury has been buffed.
Giants sword outdamaged it as it was able to oneshot the crypts: 246k damage + the wither skeleton pet dealing 66% of that is the same as 246k + 156k which you might already figure out 402k > 248k :/ unfair tests
to people watching this video, yall have to keep in mind that he is using superior dragon armor, which also buffs aotd by 50%. Lot of people decide to ride the SA/Necron Armor. The test would be more fair if it was Superior+Edrag+Aotd vs SA/Necron+Giant Sword+Dmg Pet (In my opinion, of course)
hmm so the videos saying that Aotd + edrag and the giant sword setups are both 200m but is the edrag only lvl1 ? cuz if not it will be higher in value than just 190m sorry just asking
i did the test on my side with my mecron armour and the aotd did less damage so I investigate and 1 thing that was different was the armour. One of the perk of the superior is that it give a stat boost to the aotd it is why your aotd did more damage than the gs.
Your stats and gear are favoured to the aotd because first of all, the superior dragon armor clearly buffs the aotd and also you should try using edrag with gs aswell as the aotd
This video is comparing how much dmg can you get for your money, if you use edrag with giant sword that would be nearly 400 million at the time this was tested, double the cost of the edrag aotd setup which isn’t even slightly comparable
As a player with a lot of experience, your test is completely false. The wither skeleton does 140k dmg with gs inside dung on the same tick as the hit (ie the first tick) which is the same with fire aspect and stuff. This adds another 140k damage to the giant sword making it better. Oh yeah. are we not going to account the fact that gs does so so much more dps that the result is abysmal?
He didn't applied fragments on shadow fury which it gives 30%crit dmg bonus. Yes sf is way better than both sword, just use sf + baby yeti it's the best gear
this video doesnt prove that the aotd is better though. You're literally doing everything to make the GS do less damage. If you want to do a fair test, use the same armour and pet.
I think it’s really funny that maths tells us that an Aotd+ dragonfuse glove + ~800m coin Ender dragon pet deals 2k more damage than a 120m coin gs with a 14m coin wither skeleton. (Basically a 700m price gap for 2k of damage). This video is very controversial to say the least.
Backstab and atk speed is niche still worse than aotd w/ glove. Livid makes you look like a non so- aotd on top. Besides ability is better, it scales better with things like ender dragon, superior drag armor, and dragonfuse glove. But that aside there's no point upgrading from aotd, just keep aotd get the glove and you can power through normal mode floors easily. (Minus f7)
you should have also done edrag with the giants sword and that would've been alot better than wither skeleton. Also livid dagger has alot of attack speed so it would be better for slayers and other high health targets because its not optimised for 1 hit dmg.
aotd is my favourite weapon BUT i know it's limits and at best it's an early end game weapon even then i will still use it till i reach the peak of skyblock because it doesn't matter what anyone says not being the most efficient doesn't mean your losing
Why did you not mention the aotv, its a great comparison between livid and aotd for cost 🤓and its just a great weapon if you spend 370m on enchants n shit 🤓
this isn't a very much fair comparison, using a pet and an item that buffs one sword specifically to make it better than others seems a bit silly, since the pet only gives a slight buff to your overall stats, and still only BARELY beating GS. Also, the weapon sometimes doing more damage in dungeons is because of the berserker passive "lust for blood" or "bloodlust" because one of them increases your damage on the next hit by a x% after killing a mob, a better way to compare would be using LCM or just wait for the passive ability to end
I figured out about the bloodlust thing on stream last night, appreciate you telling me though. As for it being a fair test, they were fair tests but they're not reasonable ones. I covered this all from 23:03 onwards and yes, a very slight damage increase doesn't automatically determine a weapon being better than another weapon.
I always said that the livid dagger isn’t required since the AOTD exists but not because the aotd ouclasses it. I personally don’t feel that the dragon fuse glove is worth it either. Good berserker damage against all enemies in that stage of game (early game) is meaningless in the current meta. Just get slayer swords for slayers, mage/archer gear for everything else. Generic weapons after the aotd until the giant sword is not worth your time
Honestly I strongly disagree, I'm progressing through the early stages of the game on my chaos profile right now and the AOTD + dragonfuse has gotten be through the first three T4 Slayer bosses and let me solo f2 as a catacombs 8 player. It really is a powerful "one size fits all" solution and the fact that it's all done with 2 items is completely insane

Great video but your forgot 2 factors 1: the wither skeleton is more used for multi hit damage and something like a epic tiger would’ve been more comparable 2: everyone in the comments that I read never mentioned this, “it dosent really matter what armor I choose” he quotes but the armor he chose did matter the superior dragon armor full set bonus has an ability to give 10% extra stats and also buffs the aotd by 50% and if we don’t factor this it’s substantially worse than the livid dagger Anyways good video
no, sup was never that high someone musta told you the facts while on drugs, they’ve always been around 50M ish for the full set and have dropped to 30-25M in recent years

this is pretty much just you pulling the price factor during the entire video and in reality you will never do more damage with an aotd over a giants sword
the only bad part about having an aotd with edrag is there is no more improvement you can make to the setup. With a GS, the posibilities are endless, up to getting a scylla or dark claymore. also you get petlocked with aotd, as well as no gauntlet slot.

The thing is at the stage where u buy the aotd or livid dagger or Fot.. Ppl still struggle to get a 100% crit chance. so to get that ppl often choose a power stone with good crit chance and tune their accessory for crit chance. And that heavily decreases the dmg cuz they could just get the HIGH str and crt dmg power stones. This is just My take on this topic
Spamming the click for DPS ❌ Methodical execution of moves to maximize damage by combining the effect of different abilities and passives ✅ Shadow furry -> livid dagger for 1st hit on every mob Silent death -> livid dagger to deal the final blow and kill them Setup costs way less than 200m and will surely deal more damage as the getting a shadow furry, a silent death and a livid dagger will be cheaper than getting a giant sword or an ender dragon pet while the passive of the livid dagger doubles backstab damage which obviously launches it way above the damage amounts shown in the video both in and out of dungeons Edit: +habanero tactics 😎 Edit2: Besides habanero tactics there are multiple other ways in which hypermaxing the livid dagger the right way should allow you to chain combo the mobs and get up to 50 kill combos, unfortunately I don't have the coins to test that as I don't waste hours grinding for coins like you mindless pigs trying to prove that a blade used by an unintelligent beast like the giant is going to outdamage the strategic genious that is Livid
Personal thoughts after watching this Livid Dagger: Not really worth it anymore imo due to the attack speed nerf. Flower of Truth: Purely for clearing for a true Berserker. Then again, Juju exists. Aspect of the Dragons: Weapon that will carry you all the way up to F5. Worth using for sure. Shadow Fury: Will carry you beyond the Aspect of the Dragons. Upgrade to it after selling AOTD and Dragonfuse, and especially considering how unlikely it is for you to have an Epic Ender Dragon is at this point. Giant’s Sword: Go ahead and get it, but it doesn’t outperform the Shadow Fury enough to where I think it’s worth it. The only big use I can see for it is early ghost grinding.
@@dreechte o ok he also mentions that ability av,and says that its more like a gimmick and isnt really practical. which is true because youre mostly going to be killing mobs that are agroed at you and if they are agroed at you theyll be looking at you
I would say the giant's sword is still better because with the AOTD you would be pet locked and you can't switch out the Dragonfuse glove with anything other glove/gauntlet.
PSA for everyone: this doesn't mean that AOTD is directly better than GS, obviously GS + edrag would be even better, but AOTD + edrag does more damage and is probably about the same cost shadow fury probably more worth it still insane that aotd can do that
good video! just one thing: this was a one-tap test, actually, livid dagger is a lot better than aotd cause of attack speed, and you didnt count the bonus ability of livid dagger.
And i think gs is alot more cheaper and better since they have 2 gemstone slot and then with full dmg setup its actually better but noone is gonna use aotd if they have a edrag
The edrag is just a way better dmg pet than skelly it literally gives u 10% stat increase and a ton of otherstuff, using an edrag for all weapon tests would have been way more fair.
In the first damage comparison, you completely disregard the 50% attack speed increase of the Livid Dagger, which easily results in 20-30% higher DPS than AtoD at a lower cost.

SF with OFA and a lvl 100 Legendary Lion pet will out dmg your AOTD+Edrag by far, but whats even more funny is that a Warped AOTE with OFA and a lvl 100 legendary lion pet only does 10k less than the SF with the lion
my strongest sword is my AOTD, i have it loaded with enchants and reforged to make it stronger than its base form. My good friend who has helped me alot in Skyblock gave it to me to use, and it demolishes mobs. Using it with my reforged Young Dragon armor, which gives me over 1,400 health points from enchants and the reforges i have on it, i have been able to grind Zealots without dying instantly, it 2 hits them which im perfectly fine with. i love my AOTD.
the reason you thought this was a groundbreaking test baffles me, spending 300m for an aotd setup and comparing to the giant sword to show aotd is more dmg for value is plainly wrong. for the same price you could get a full necron set and leg lion pet plus giant's word and do 3x the damage of the aotd. and testing giant's sword in sup? what is that? anyone using a giant's sword is going to be using either shadow assassin or necron. like cmon, even at surface value this video is all kinds of inaccurate and biased. It would be bad if someone actually went out of their way to waste their networth on this setup only to be mocked because of how stupid it is.

I said many times that this video is mostly a showcase on how powerful the AOTD is, not the fact that it rivals the Giant's Sword. I brought up the Giant's Sword because it reinforces the argument that "The AOTD is more than just an early game weapon", and I still stand by that. I wanted to show people that the AOTD is extremely powerful, to the point that it CAN be CLOSE to the Giant's Sword, but in realistic setting, it'll be compared more towards something like the Livid Dagger. Ultimately, you're the one in the wrong here because you summarised what I talked about in the discussion of the video and completely missed the whole point I'd also like to mention that I did say "The AOTD is not just an early game weapon you toss aside at catacombs 14" in the introduction, so it's clear you lack simple comprehension skills and didn't at all understand the point I was trying to get across.
16:22 doesnt oneshot 341k hp target, 16:53 does oneshot a 341k hp target so the giant sword itself is dealing less but the whole setup with the gs deals more dmg
The Shadow Fury doesn't beat the AOTD in realistic setting even with a stronger pet (like a tiger, griffin, etc), but this is expected due to it being 1/3 of the price of the edrag + aotd setup. It's still a really good option though and I'd recommend upgrading from an AOTD --> Shadow Fury if you really want a slight damage boost.
For those who wonder the reason why the aotd was outdamaging the giant sword was because he had quit low stats making the strengh of the aotd matter more. TLDR ; the aotd is indeed better but only at lower catacomb levels and without stronger armor sets like ancient necron/shadow assassin.
This is the second comment I've found that also isn't complete misinformation. I appreciate your efforts but you're not gonna convince anyone who thinks the AOTD is simply bad. It's a losing battle here unfortunately

aotd out damaging livid dagger does not mean it’s at all better. livid dagger has 50% as well as an op ability that pairs quite fairly with a silent death. Now would a guaranteed 100% damage increase for 100k be great?

No hate whatsoever but the wither skeleton pet is a dot (damage over time) pet and you activated its perk right before the giant sword vs aotd test at the end. Also the livid dagger has a 50% bonus attack speed buff meaning the dps would be much higher.Finally the flower of truth is only really useful because of it's ability and because it's VERY cheap compared to any other early/midgame item

I feel like the base damage test was a little unfair, as it was better tuned to aotd with the thaumaturge reforge, it would be a much better test if it was just not including the reforge at all as it would more accurately portray the sword and would create less variables.
another thing that you havnt included with the livid vs aotd is that, the livid gives 100% crit chance so players will not have to worry about that aspect and put there gear towards other things, aswell as the use of your superior dragon buffing the aotd further aswell, and the reason i know the testing was unfair is that you have tuned all the points to the favor the aotd and used a power stone to even out the crit damage to strength ratio
the reason why being equipment locked matters is because gauntlet of constasian is good for juju clear and mele bers just isnt good and the resell value of an aotd is so low if you semi max a livid se 4-5 sharp 6 enderslayer 6 and alat you'll need to do all that to your aotd but if you do that nobody will take it from you and if you say that dosent matter then why not just get a shadow fury. Also livid dagger will be better with diffrent armour sets as these stats arent tuned for the weapons . And pets are better for diffrent weapons like a with them benefiting each other but overall that's a weaker point. You could spend about 11m instead getting a flaming glove for the livid dagger. There's just no reason in my opioion to not just get a livid dagger because I could get a livid dagger with rlly good enchantments and sell it when I wanna upgrade but I wont be able to sell my aotd with rlly good enchantments and in dungeons you can constiantly get bacstabs as the ai is dumb so u can just one shot the mobs and if ur assuming we have soul eater then u can kill one mob then just onetap everything and it wont matter
Not at all fair. The wither skeleton wither damage was not counted and it happens instantly. The shadow fury was not fragged. And you used the dragon fuse for bot of them when you should have swapped to Molton equipment. Also the wither damage is the main point of wither skeleton pet

Here's the long awaited AOTD video I briefly mentioned about a week and a bit ago. It's quite a long one so apologies for that, but I did my best to cover everything I could to prevent the amount of questions I'd get in the comments. I've noticed that with just the time it took to make this, a lot of the pricing has outdated slightly but the cost margins between the Livid Dagger and AOTD are still mostly similar so the information still holds true.

EDIT: People keep saying Superior buffs the AOTD's left click damage, this is simply not true. If you read the set bonus carefully, it says it buffs the AOTD "ABILITY" damage, which is the right click ability. I have tested this, I did not think this was going to be an issue, but clearly people still don't know how the Superior Dragon Armour works.

Hey soldier, this video is definitely interesting but i think that the gs vs aotd test was conducted very strangely, I don't know if you knew already but the wither skeleton is focused on damage over time instead of single hit damage, you could've used an epic tiger and it would've given you a much much better comparison, even ignoring the fact that wither skeleton is a dot pet, on the first hit you activated its perk during the dungeon test which gave it an extra 55000 damage, thus putting it clearly over the aotd. Also fot is worse for single damage but no one uses it for that as most people use it as a clearing weapon before they get a juju, or something to help getting combat exp for slayers. Nonetheless this is definitely an interesting video so great job on it

No hes trying to make it seem like aotd is better but he is using a dps pet and in the test where he used edrag in the dungeon he did 247k and gs with wither skeleton did 400k if u count in the first tick from the deaths touch perk, this clearly shows how much better a gs sword is. Also he is using superior which buffs the aotd by a lot, if he would have used superior for aotd and like a normal damage set like shadow assassin or necron for the giants sword it would be a lot more fair test.

Your stats were favored towards the aotd bc with silky you get wayy more crit damage and since you get more strength from the aotd it makes it balanced, making the giants sword be unbalanced as the crit damage stat is way higher than the strength stat

Well silky is 400 coins so it barely affects the price, so I see what you're trying to say, but bloody is 300k which is also negligible considering this test is done with 200m setups and gives equal amounts of strength and crit damage

These damage tests, especially the ones at the start, trigger me because if you were to actually main a weapon, you would adjust the rest of your setup to match your strength and crit damage, increasing your damage. The AOTD happened to be better tuned to your setup used for all the damage tests, so it appeared as if the weapon did better than it actually would have if the stats were adjusted for the other weapons. This is also why the FOT did more than the livid dagger, which wouldn't at all be the case if the strength and crit damage were more balanced with the livid dagger.
To some degree, this is true, but you also have to take into account what the average skyblock player is going to do. Your average "early gamer" or "mid gamer" is going to use the silky power stone simply because everyone else says it's good, as well as whatever set they choose (I just happened to have superior, but shadow assassin is another option).
Yes, I could go out of my way to accurately tune my stats to each weapon individually, however this would create a series of other factors that would also influence the tests in unfair ways, and regardless of how I test these weapons, I will forever get people telling me that "you did something wrong".

Give these same weapons to a different account and the results might be drastically different, so giving a fair damage test that will be accurate to every player is impossible.

For the average player, an AOTD + Dragon Pet isn't gonna be worth your while, but if you were someone lucky enough to drop a dragon pet, then it could be an option for more linear progression. Obviously this is extremely specific, and it's why the Giant's Sword generally speaking will be a better option.
@@ModernSoldieralso, the livid dagger is known for its backstab and bonus attack speed. So the dps would be 1.5x higher than it would without the attack speed. As for the backstab passive, I would suggest doing a backstab and a front stab and use the mean of the two

even though it is better with a dragonfuse gauntlet, in dungeons having a gauntlet of contagion is very useful for clearing with a juju/term (which will be the majority of your damage in dungeons anyways)
Yeah absolutely, a juju shortbow is going to be a better clearing option over an AOTD for dungeons. Still doesn't take away from the fact that the AOTD is a better melee option than a Livid Dagger and FoT with the glove though, which is what I was getting across in this video

At that point, you're petlocked to the Ender Dragon pet, armorlocked to Superior Dragon, and equipmentlocked to the Dragonfuse Glove to deal as much DPS (using both Leftclick and Rightclick) as possible with the AOTD. However, with the other weapons, you aren't so locked to specific equipment.

PRESS READ MORE!!!!! Hey Guys! Just to let you know he uses Superior Dragon armor (Which he doesn't mention), which is one of the reasons that it is better than the FoT. He also claims that the AotD is better than the livid dagger but including the attack speed and the back stab this just isnt true as the Livid Dagger has more dps. Near the end of the video he puts on a [lvl 100] Ender Dragon pet for the AotD and compares it to a [lvl 100] Wither Skeleton and Giant's Sword, pretty much he straight up just makes the comparison completely unfair as it puts a 270m coin pet against a 2m pet (not to mention the Giant's sword still does more damage even with the horrible pet difference). Finally he claims that the AotD is "better" than the Giant's sword and does acknowledge that pretty much every weapon on this list is still better in terms of dps/price-for-damage, but this doesn't really help as he claims that at the very end of the video, making the audience wait through the whole video to finally give an answer. He also compares the AotD, FoT and Livid Dagger against slayer bosses to look at their true dps and he clearly has better aim for the AotD compared to the other 2. This whole video can also be combated by the whole player base, if the AotD was "better" sword than all of the other weapons on this list than it would take someone a week at max to find this, not over 6 months of this being possible. This is a decent video but just the amount of holes in the damage tests are just funny. So pretty much, DONT USE THIS AS A GUIDE FOR EARLY GAME PLAYERS.

I bought an ATOD when I was mage-classing and now I just have an emotional connection to it and don't want to (and can't since I already donated it) sell it. So now I'm just trying to make it so as much damage as physically possible.

The wither skeleton pet deals damage with one of it perks seperately from the main dmg so it dealt around 300k dmg (it deals dmg once per second but still has better dps then aotd with max attack speed). Also melee berserker isnt good right now for dungeons so inside dungeons tests arent that important. Melee weapons are useful for lcm but it only becomes good at very high cata levels at wich point u could afford a claymore and gdrag wich would deal more dmg than wither skeleton gs. Still suprised to see how much damage aotd does
Personnaly I believe that buying a giant sword is more worth it, due to the fact that you have to have equiped a specific pet and specific gear to reach the damage it does using an aotd. This video tho was impressive and really well made!

Well, of course if the point to the video was to demonstrate that in specific circumstances it can out damage the giant sword, it was done correctly, but to actually buy all this buffs and actually use the AOTD for actual game is just useless in certain way, (btw you were using superior dragon if im not wrong converting it into a 224-225m set up) so just buy the giant sword or shadow fury, and use another pet, as well as better armor, it would also would take the whole mid game sword point, plus superior armor buff would be taken out if you need a better armor choice, and even livid and AOTD plus the tails man (in dungeon of course) not worth it at all, (if strict NW) but outside it would be great for a 9 millon set up,
You also gotta realize the bonus attack speed for the livid dagger. It may be weaker, but it does more dps than the aotd, meaning it is somewhat better than you think.

The superior dragon set that he used for the outside dungeons test is superior dragon which is kind of restricting since superior costs ~ 35m coins as of writing this (I think) which gives a 5% overall stat boost to the AOTD. The dragonfuse glove still boosts the damage of the aotd, but by today's standards, no one uses superior dragon set. Also if you are closer to endgame you will be using armour sets like necron, warden helm e.t.c, Yet the AOTD can still do slightly more damage than the livid dagger and FOT if using the dragonfuse glove. Also, im not sure if this is a bug only for me only but when i am doing sven's, I sometimes randomly get a backstab even though i wasnt aiming for one which is a bug based on the hitboxes im assuming. In my opinion, sure the aspect of the dragons IS better than the livid dagger, BUT if you are using items that only give stat boosts to every weapon, the livid dagger might do slightly more damage than the AOTD and Ive done a test on my account (Full shadow assassin with livid fragments, clean aotd & livid dagger, no pet, no magic power, no necklace, cloak, glove, belt e.t.c) on a t4 revenant. The livid dagger ended up killing the revenant much faster than the AOTD, but im not sure if it was just from lucky ferocity. So in my eyes, Go for a AOTD For early game, and soon after when you feel you cant do enough damage with an aotd, Go for the livid dagger. I even tested with accessories but this test isnt fair because I had fabled on both, AOTD did 16.3k damage and Livid dagger did 25.5k damage.

i did the test on my side with my mecron armour and the aotd did less damage so I investigate and 1 thing that was different was the armour. One of the perk of the superior is that it give a stat boost to the aotd it is why your aotd did more damage than the gs.

As a player with a lot of experience, your test is completely false. The wither skeleton does 140k dmg with gs inside dung on the same tick as the hit (ie the first tick) which is the same with fire aspect and stuff.
This adds another 140k damage to the giant sword making it better.

I think it’s really funny that maths tells us that an Aotd+ dragonfuse glove + ~800m coin Ender dragon pet deals 2k more damage than a 120m coin gs with a 14m coin wither skeleton. (Basically a 700m price gap for 2k of damage). This video is very controversial to say the least.

this isn't a very much fair comparison, using a pet and an item that buffs one sword specifically to make it better than others seems a bit silly, since the pet only gives a slight buff to your overall stats, and still only BARELY beating GS.
Also, the weapon sometimes doing more damage in dungeons is because of the berserker passive "lust for blood" or "bloodlust" because one of them increases your damage on the next hit by a x% after killing a mob, a better way to compare would be using LCM or just wait for the passive ability to end
I figured out about the bloodlust thing on stream last night, appreciate you telling me though. As for it being a fair test, they were fair tests but they're not reasonable ones. I covered this all from 23:03 onwards and yes, a very slight damage increase doesn't automatically determine a weapon being better than another weapon.
I always said that the livid dagger isn’t required since the AOTD exists but not because the aotd ouclasses it. I personally don’t feel that the dragon fuse glove is worth it either. Good berserker damage against all enemies in that stage of game (early game) is meaningless in the current meta. Just get slayer swords for slayers, mage/archer gear for everything else. Generic weapons after the aotd until the giant sword is not worth your time
Honestly I strongly disagree, I'm progressing through the early stages of the game on my chaos profile right now and the AOTD + dragonfuse has gotten be through the first three T4 Slayer bosses and let me solo f2 as a catacombs 8 player. It really is a powerful "one size fits all" solution and the fact that it's all done with 2 items is completely insane

1: the wither skeleton is more used for multi hit damage and something like a epic tiger would’ve been more comparable
2: everyone in the comments that I read never mentioned this, “it dosent really matter what armor I choose” he quotes but the armor he chose did matter the superior dragon armor full set bonus has an ability to give 10% extra stats and also buffs the aotd by 50% and if we don’t factor this it’s substantially worse than the livid dagger

Yeah, to be fair all your gear was focused on aotd. this does make a difference (for example if you were wearing strong dragon or shadow assassin or anything like that which doesn't boost the stats of any particular sword in the list the results might've changed)
this is pretty much just you pulling the price factor during the entire video and in reality you will never do more damage with an aotd over a giants sword
the only bad part about having an aotd with edrag is there is no more improvement you can make to the setup. With a GS, the posibilities are endless, up to getting a scylla or dark claymore. also you get petlocked with aotd, as well as no gauntlet slot.

The thing is at the stage where u buy the aotd or livid dagger or Fot.. Ppl still struggle to get a 100% crit chance. so to get that ppl often choose a power stone with good crit chance and tune their accessory for crit chance. And that heavily decreases the dmg cuz they could just get the HIGH str and crt dmg power stones.

Setup costs way less than 200m and will surely deal more damage as the getting a shadow furry, a silent death and a livid dagger will be cheaper than getting a giant sword or an ender dragon pet while the passive of the livid dagger doubles backstab damage which obviously launches it way above the damage amounts shown in the video both in and out of dungeons

Personal thoughts after watching this
Livid Dagger: Not really worth it anymore imo due to the attack speed nerf.
Flower of Truth: Purely for clearing for a true Berserker. Then again, Juju exists.
Aspect of the Dragons: Weapon that will carry you all the way up to F5. Worth using for sure.
Shadow Fury: Will carry you beyond the Aspect of the Dragons. Upgrade to it after selling AOTD and Dragonfuse, and especially considering how unlikely it is for you to have an Epic Ender Dragon is at this point.
Giant’s Sword: Go ahead and get it, but it doesn’t outperform the Shadow Fury enough to where I think it’s worth it. The only big use I can see for it is early ghost grinding.

I would say the giant's sword is still better because with the AOTD you would be pet locked and you can't switch out the Dragonfuse glove with anything other glove/gauntlet.

The edrag is just a way better dmg pet than skelly it literally gives u 10% stat increase and a ton of otherstuff, using an edrag for all weapon tests would have been way more fair.
In the first damage comparison, you completely disregard the 50% attack speed increase of the Livid Dagger, which easily results in 20-30% higher DPS than AtoD at a lower cost.

SF with OFA and a lvl 100 Legendary Lion pet will out dmg your AOTD+Edrag by far, but whats even more funny is that a Warped AOTE with OFA and a lvl 100 legendary lion pet only does 10k less than the SF with the lion
my strongest sword is my AOTD, i have it loaded with enchants and reforged to make it stronger than its base form. My good friend who has helped me alot in Skyblock gave it to me to use, and it demolishes mobs. Using it with my reforged Young Dragon armor, which gives me over 1,400 health points from enchants and the reforges i have on it, i have been able to grind Zealots without dying instantly, it 2 hits them which im perfectly fine with. i love my AOTD.

the reason you thought this was a groundbreaking test baffles me, spending 300m for an aotd setup and comparing to the giant sword to show aotd is more dmg for value is plainly wrong. for the same price you could get a full necron set and leg lion pet plus giant's word and do 3x the damage of the aotd. and testing giant's sword in sup? what is that? anyone using a giant's sword is going to be using either shadow assassin or necron. like cmon, even at surface value this video is all kinds of inaccurate and biased. It would be bad if someone actually went out of their way to waste their networth on this setup only to be mocked because of how stupid it is.

problem is that the aotd's setup is the ceiling for an aotd setup, while the giant's sword's setup isn't maxed, and has more potential for growth
16:22 doesnt oneshot 341k hp target, 16:53 does oneshot a 341k hp target
so the giant sword itself is dealing less but the whole setup with the gs deals more dmg
i feel like its common knowledge by now that the edrag +aotd is very gud, but the shadow fury + a slightly cheaper pet would be better
The Shadow Fury doesn't beat the AOTD in realistic setting even with a stronger pet (like a tiger, griffin, etc), but this is expected due to it being 1/3 of the price of the edrag + aotd setup. It's still a really good option though and I'd recommend upgrading from an AOTD --> Shadow Fury if you really want a slight damage boost.

For those who wonder the reason why the aotd was outdamaging the giant sword was because he had quit low stats making the strengh of the aotd matter more. TLDR ; the aotd is indeed better but only at lower catacomb levels and without stronger armor sets like ancient necron/shadow assassin.
This is the second comment I've found that also isn't complete misinformation. I appreciate your efforts but you're not gonna convince anyone who thinks the AOTD is simply bad. It's a losing battle here unfortunately

aotd out damaging livid dagger does not mean it’s at all better. livid dagger has 50% as well as an op ability that pairs quite fairly with a silent death. Now would a guaranteed 100% damage increase for 100k be great?

No hate whatsoever but the wither skeleton pet is a dot (damage over time) pet and you activated its perk right before the giant sword vs aotd test at the end. Also the livid dagger has a 50% bonus attack speed buff meaning the dps would be much higher.Finally the flower of truth is only really useful because of it's ability and because it's VERY cheap compared to any other early/midgame item

I feel like the base damage test was a little unfair, as it was better tuned to aotd with the thaumaturge reforge, it would be a much better test if it was just not including the reforge at all as it would more accurately portray the sword and would create less variables.

another thing that you havnt included with the livid vs aotd is that, the livid gives 100% crit chance so players will not have to worry about that aspect and put there gear towards other things, aswell as the use of your superior dragon buffing the aotd further aswell, and the reason i know the testing was unfair is that you have tuned all the points to the favor the aotd and used a power stone to even out the crit damage to strength ratio
the reason why being equipment locked matters is because gauntlet of constasian is good for juju clear and mele bers just isnt good and the resell value of an aotd is so low if you semi max a livid se 4-5 sharp 6 enderslayer 6 and alat you'll need to do all that to your aotd but if you do that nobody will take it from you and if you say that dosent matter then why not just get a shadow fury. Also livid dagger will be better with diffrent armour sets as these stats arent tuned for the weapons . And pets are better for diffrent weapons like a with them benefiting each other but overall that's a weaker point. You could spend about 11m instead getting a flaming glove for the livid dagger. There's just no reason in my opioion to not just get a livid dagger because I could get a livid dagger with rlly good enchantments and sell it when I wanna upgrade but I wont be able to sell my aotd with rlly good enchantments and in dungeons you can constiantly get bacstabs as the ai is dumb so u can just one shot the mobs and if ur assuming we have soul eater then u can kill one mob then just onetap everything and it wont matter
