Old Age playing, recorded by Thomas Edison for Dr. Johannes Brahms, quality of course is poor, so we don't know Brahms in his Prime Time, but according to Clara Schumann the pianist, Johannes playing is too heavy, so Young Backhaus' heavy-handed playing perhaps is the proper one.

One could not find more charming music. When I hear this I think of Brahms great admiration for Strauss.
