      It wasn't all calls for them. Some are calls against them. 2 wrongly called kickballs that stopped the Pacers from running. A foul on Turner from literally doing nothing to Brunson. A foul on Nesmith for Donte stopping and running into his space (should be an offensive foul now btw). A foul on Nembhard in game 1 for Brunson stepping into his air space and jumping into him which isn't supposed to be a foul anymore. None of these would be free throws but are wrongly called.

      Many missed calls… on both sides. Doesn’t change the fact that the Pacers got out played in the 4th quarter of both games. But I completely expect the refs to call a lop-sided game tonight and the Pacers to win as a result. Rick’s whining in his presser will be a success. The small market argument is laughable though. Good luck guys! Should be fun tonight.

    Pacers lost game 2, unquestionably. Couldn’t defend, couldn’t rebound, couldn’t make free throws; don’t deserve to win the game. My frustration with the officiating can be summed up by the kickball call in game 1 and the double dribble call in game 1. First one can’t be reviewed, refs got it wrong, and it goes against the Pacers. Second one can’t be reviewed but they reverse the decision because it’s the right call and it goes against the Pacers. 2 huge possessions where the refs directly impact momentum away from the Pacers.

    • @andellbrown1239

    As a longtime Pacers fan I’m fine with most of the missed calls as that’s how sports go. The non kicked ball and the Turner moving screen are the only missed calls that actually bug me given the time of the game they were called and how pivotal they were to the outcome.

  • @mpeters99
    @mpeters99 4 месяца назад

    So my thing with the 78 calls that were supposedly missed is if that Turner screen is a foul after review, then there probably were 50+ of those screens at least set throughout the 2 games. I don’t think it’s that unbelievable given the precedent the refs set in Game 1.

  • @rafisanders
    @rafisanders 4 месяца назад +4

    If you actually watch the Isaiah hartenshtein play. The double dribble clearly wasn't a double dribble. I agree, the refs shouldn't have called the moving screen in game 1 because it wasn't super clear. But in this instance the refs had it right. In no camera angle did hartenshtein double dribble

    • @tonyschimmoeller

      The problem for me is why was the same thing not done for the incorrect kicked ball call? Both calls were awful and wrong against each team, and both calls resulted in the Knicks having the ball.

    • @caleblofstrom4322
      @caleblofstrom4322 4 месяца назад

      Yes the kick ball was wrong call and the refs messed up. So because of that they should not correct the behavior and continue to make a wrong call??? That's crazy. They messed up, they fixed it in game 2. And now people are upset they fixed it. Game 2 was not lost because of refs. That was a pretty evenly called game, both teams played aggressive. The pacers Def was terrible along with missed free throws, bad coaching

    • @mpeters99
      @mpeters99 4 месяца назад

      @@caleblofstrom4322 to be clear I don’t think the refs were that bad in Game 2 and they were not the reason the Pacers lost. But we as fans should always want consistency in the playoffs. The fact that there were two crucial bad calls in crunch time of both games against each team and both situations resulted in the same team getting the ball is a problem. Whether intentional or not, the results clearly favored and gave an advantage to only one team.

    The problem is definitely worse in the NBA because there's strange correlations between how big the market is and how many calls teams get the lakers in differential are number 1 with 250 and the knicks are number 2. I'm sure you'll just say it's a coincidence right. The NBA isn't rigged it's biased however towards big names and big games in big markets. That's not even mentioning Anthony Davis going to the Pelicans so the NBA could help sell the team for more money or Patrick Ewing going to the Knicks. I'm sure it's just a coincidence though right you're too cowardly to call out it being biased towards certain teams in certain situations.
    Think about the monetary difference in between how much the NBA gets in a 4 game sweep or a 7 game series or even the difference between say the Knicks or the Lakers going to the playoffs versus a team like the Pelicans. You're all too cowardly to call it how it is because you need to cozy up to the NBA and NBA adjacent companies who won't hire you or pay you if you call them out like so blatantly.
    Of course the Pacers didn't Miss 150 or however many calls but it is indicative of the trend pretty standard in the league by now big teams and big markets mean big money so they get biased treatment..
    There's no backroom shady alley deals it's just the NBA executives keep this regime of refs in power because they don't need to have that conversation the refs know to bias the right games

      @SteveNY823 There is always non calls. It's more that the Pacers are getting bad calls and not getting the same calls that the Knicks are getting. Turner turned and Brunson fell down and they called a foul. Turner also attacked the rim with the ball high and got his arm slapped that the ball just fell out and nothing. Next play was a minor touch on the hip and Knicks got a call. Both were fouls but Turner's not getting called could be the reason the Knicks even are in position to get fouled.
