- Maxson Goh Films a showcase of the Runcorn Busway, the world's first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system when it opened in 1971.
Located in England, UK, this busway system compromises mainly of dedicated bus only roads, with the highlight being several elevated sections that provide direct access to Runcorn Shopping City.. if you want to go there..

Amazing! This is my local busway let’s just say it’s very… Interesting… of a night to say the least
interesting it is... I've heard about what happened to the buses at night hmmm... Errr let's just say I'm not brave enough to hang around here past dark
What happens
@@cucumber1389 some buses got smashed apparently according to Kieran, my guide
@@glitchFan2428 The MP travel X1 literally got withdrawn and the company entirely ceased to exist, because of multiple cases of buses getting damaged or smashed on the busway.
Pathetic mindset of the local imbeciles.
Amazing to say that the town of Runcorn was the first in the world to invent BRT in 1971.
Indeed
Nice
Think there is a similar system in Klang Valley, Malaysia, BRT Sunway Line
You're right! ruclips.net/video/Y2BBMrgJaMI/видео.html
great to see bus priority being implemented in other countries, even when its just a simple solution. Here we have "TPC"s like Tampines Ave 1...
are TPC the Transport Priority Control ?
This busway actually came to be long before Singapore!
I'm glad I could be of assistance, even if the actual area is incredibly dodgy 😅
SuS!
@@glitchFan2428 Runcorn Sussy City
@@kieranstravels very 🤣🤣
Those buses with the giant pods are CNG powered MAN A22/A69 buses with Caeteno City Gold bodywork.
Yeah the dashboard very familiar
This busway is basically like the LRT in Singapore, which maybe could actually work better than the LRT since special train cars and rails are not needed, cutting down on maintenance and operation costs. as well as beating the traffic below.
Only difference is the lrt is local to the area, while the buses on this busway offer a seamless connection to the surrounding areas
Que espacioso bus, medio de transporte para trasladarse en largas distancias.
I wonder what the lifecycle cost of all that concrete and bitumen is compared to light rail.
Mmm perhaps someone should make a study
Nice!
What is not so nice is the hard-coded subtitles? Why not use closed captions?
A popular busway in the North West. Easily is one of the best bus spotting areas
That is, until they shut the upper levels of the carpark :(
The rest of the busway has some nice angles too but nothing beats the elevated section imo
@@glitchFan2428 yup
3:34 That’s the horribleness we have to put up with.. Hate the caetanos for this reason
I cringed at that ngl
👍👍
Dedicated elevated roads or tracks are wasted spaces; should be all painted lane for bus, taxis and emergency vehicle only. Bus or BRT are cheaper to implement than trams. However, noise and vibration is tiring, should design a bus with better suspension, gas-electric or safe battery busess. Keep the drivers jobs!
If dedicating roads absolutely to buses, then why not use trams. Trams actually have higher capacity, if you look inside buses, you will see stickers noting how many passengers they are licensed to carry. You won't see that inside trams, they are just limited by how many people will fit.
Trams can also used alternatives to street running (like ballasted track and grassed track) that road vehicles (which buses are) cannot use.
Is that in England?
Yes
2:43 the side and rear looks alot like oc500le
Familiar auras
Only one direction can go beat the traffic jams meaning second direction will have traffic jam along the way
It's like a loop so the other direction enters the shopping centre from the other side
RapidKL has the BRT system
Yeah I've filmed that in Sunway
Its just an expressway for buses
Bit like LRT
A town sadly dying on its arse.busses are moving targets for kids and bricks
Shame about the anti social behaviour there. I left before it got dark for that reason
Como
