Excellent video. My dad and I flew to Brisbane from Sydney way back in August 1973. This the only time I have been to Brisbane. Also, saw Nambour and Surfers Paradise while there. Brisbane ferry rides are free now? Wow! We had to pay when we were there.

Cool to see it. I've been to the Gold Coast in Qld so many times but have never been to Brisbane. Definitely not as touristy as Surfers Paradise/Broadbeach on the Gold Coast but it looks like a great city so I'll have to check it out next time I'm up there!

Those ferries are so much nicer than the ones I've been on in San Diego and San Francisco.

excatly where you were.....im lucky to live near the city and ive been swimming in that pool.....AND ive been on that ferris wheel....its the 7 news ferris wheel.......and ive been over those bridges ...........and on that ferry and that big brisbane sign.....and if you walked pass a hostipal than its proply the one that i was born in...its called the marta hostipal

Melbourne is a livable city, nice city. i went during their winter in july. nice weather sometimes chilly.
you cant get to the great barrier reef from either. you need to go to cairns if you want to see the reef. but brisbane has better beaches than melborne. hope that helps

Melbourne is a GREAT CITY, but can be depressing due to the weather impredictable - At least in Melbourne at the Museum you can see a stuffed cha,pion horse ! Big deal. Phar Lap I guess. The food is great anywhere/

You're making me want to check out Brisbane! I haven't been in a long time (and never as an adult) and the mention of a good mix of new and old interests me. I love that about Melbourne so would be interested in seeing how it compares with Brisbane.
That free pool looks great too! I am guessing (heat wise) March is probably a decent time to visit too.

Nice video, Brisbane is a nice clean city but so boring lived here for 10 years. We've seen it grow over the years though!

+Henry Franqui Plus (and I'm not saying you don't) you'll notice Mari stays in backpackers or hostels most of the time which are much cheaper than hotels. She also takes cheaper transport where available (the bus for example over flying). Some of her videos also mention that the activities she does are paid for in return for the video (which sounds like a great trade to me!).

Brisbane river is,where Aboriginal people killed thrown into the river at South Bank, Boundary road around West End was the Actual boundary for black people not to cross over, or be killed and thrown in the river, the Aboriginal people called the land "Yaggera" on the south side of the river and Turrabul on the North, peace out.

24 hours in Brisbane is more than enough for anyone. What a backward dive it is. Crime, violence, traffic jams, over priced public transport which is unreliable, and drivers who appear to never have been taught how to actually drive, just shown how to obtain a licence.
