    There never was a reason to leave Leverkusen so soon anyway. No pressure, no stress, no demands, no expectations. He took the job while they were in relegation battle and look at them now. At a much bigger club, the pressure, stress, demands and expectations would have been sky high and it would have been too much for him. Could lead Liverpool to 6th and then maybe 6th or 7th the following season and all of a sudden he's another Graham Potter. No point leaving while he's in the middle of something special. Maybe if he leaves in 2-3 years, that's another story. I personally hope he stays for at least another 3 years

    • @PandaNew
      @PandaNew 2 месяца назад +45

      @@jackbauer5455 If he continues with good management skills and success, he‘ll surely get more offers in the future. He‘ll probably have a chance to manage Real Madrid in 1-2 year‘s time, which would be a far more great achievement than Liverpool & Bayern

    • @jackbauer5455
      @jackbauer5455 2 месяца назад +7

      @PandaNew what world do you live in where managing Real Madrid is a bigger achievement than managing Liverpool? Winning tittles with Liverpool is a lot harder because of the tougher competition in the Premier league while Real Madrid are the Kings of Europe so I dont think he wants the easier option considering his connection to Liverpool football club.

    • @PandaNew
      @PandaNew 2 месяца назад +45

      @@jackbauer5455 I meant that managing Real Madrid is a bigger achievement due to the name and history of the club. Liverpool is a big challenge to win big titles like PL & CL. Look at Klopp, although he has changed Liverpool and made them a Top team, the only trophy they‘ve won more than once in the last 9 years is the Carabao Cup. Meanwhile managers like Guardiola, Ancelotti achieved way more. Take it into consideration that Real Madrid is the bigger club, has bigger players and the expectations are really high. As for Liverpool, they‘re happy if they can compete for the title with the budget they have. That‘s not a greater achievement than winning titles with Real Madrid. In conclusion, winning title with Liverpool is a greater achievement than winning with Real Madrid, but Real Madrid is the bigger club and managing a team like that alone is a bigger achievement than any other team.

That is gonna be one hell of a high expectation for a manager to fill in the future because this is GOAT levels of success so early into iphos managerial career. Not to mention he was also responsible for the promotion of real sociedad B when he was in charge of them (granted they were immediately relegated again but getting promoted to the second division with a literal second rate team is damn impressive).

    Good decision. Too many managers have 1 good season, go to a big club then get eaten alive. Win the Bundesliga this year, compete for Europa, and keep honing the skills and team next season

    Would love to see him in the premier league, but his loyalty and getting experience is better than losing his legendary status at Liverpool, should imagine the Scouse agree! UTV, also will miss Klopp, but thanks for making it difficult for every supporter of the opposition!

    Good to see a young manager actually make a smart decision and take his time. Why rush when you can be a top level manager for 20 plus years if you're successful

    Xabi Alonso really worked some magic, especially on the mental side.

    Alonso as a manager was made in a lab - played under Pep, Jose, Ancelotti and Benitez. Doesn't get better than that.

    Good on him. It's rare. Over the years, it always frustrated me when a lower ranked team won a domestic league for it to be instantly stripped of its manager and key players by the bigger and richer clubs. It's always expected and always happens. So to hear he'll remain there is a big deal. Hopefully the players do the same, and they build a great team for more than just 1 season

    People have to remember not everyone wants to move house every few years. For personal and family reasons. Not only that, the Premier League is just asking for people to fail. People hailed him as one of the best managers, to succeed Klopp. Alonso has done magnificent. But you have to remember it's literally ONE season. Managers come and go. Look at Leicester. Claudio won the league and then they dropped terribly, he gt sacked and then did terrible everywhere he went after. The grass is not always greener either. I respect the hell out of someone that can stay loyal theses. Lesser teams get no respect. A team does okay and everyone poaches their players and managers instantly. Nice to see a guy stand by what he wants.

    Crucial move to come out so early with his decision to try and keep the core of that team together. If they stay together they could make a very serious challenge for the UCL much less another bundesliga title.

    Wise decision, so many managers do well in one season and then jump to a bigger club just to fail because lack of experience.
    Here he'll build his experience before moving to a bigger club and also help leverkusen stabilise their current strength.

    • @0NeeN0
      @0NeeN0 Месяц назад

      Already 16 points lol, Bayern lost 3-2 to Heidenheim xD. Xabi will win the league and cup + final in the Europa League. I doubt that next season will be that great for Bayer it will probably be 2 times as hard as this season so if he gets the title or cup + CL semis (or shows very good results without trophies). then I'm sure Real will likely pick him up which would be awesome. But if he were to come this season I wouldn't be happy, he needs to manage a Bayer-sized club for at least one year. I don't wish on Xabi what Barcelona does to its players, everyone wants Xavi out, he isn't a good manager, and the only reason that he still coaches is because he is a club legend. I don't want Real to ruin Alonso's legacy by getting him after this season, yes he has shown that he is capable but not that he's stable and creative. The real power test will come as I said, when Bayer will get poached of players so Xabi will have to get creative as he won't get a budget to replace half of the starting XI.

    • @0NeeN0
      @0NeeN0 Месяц назад

      The only progression for Xabi would be Real or Liverpool (and Barca but I doubt Xabi would pick Barca who also is in so much debt that they had begged players not to pay them wages lol) and he's not ready for either of those. Step in any other direction is stepping to the side not going up, especially Bayern which would be a downgrade in my opinion. he needs to show his consistency, creativity, and tactical prowess, all of those will be checked in the next season when Bayer gets poached. If even then, he wins a title or is somewhat close to winning a triplet (so something like 2nd place, finalist in the German Cup and CL semis) I would be happy to see him at Santiago Bernabeu, this time, as a coach.

    💯% right to stay and learn your craft. Why are people trying to push him to a (bigger club) the same people would be saying the job is too big for him get rid and that's another failed young manager. Whoever takes over a Liverpool or real Madrid are going to struggle.
