  • The PE-5 is a pedal designed for bass guitar and upright bass which incorporates a sophisticated 5 band EQ and also offers superior function as a Pre-Amp, Direct Box, and signal booster.
    The PE-5 is engineered with a unique switchable input impedance which allows the pedal to match exactly to either a magnetic or piezo pickup. It achieves the full band spectrum for either pickup source. In addition it is a signal booster which compensates for low output pickups and will also provide ample drive for any amplifier. The input level and gain controls are designed to precisely match the pickup output to an amplifier.The line output is strong enough to use directly into a power amplifier or a powered speaker

    I just purchased a PE-5 and I must say that every piece of Phil Jones Bass equipment I own or have owned has always been the best for me in regards to quality. Thank you for showcasing Phil Jones Bass!

    That Spector bass looks and sounds incredible!!! This seems like another quality PJB product that I'm going to seriously consider getting.

    BTW, i think you're reviews are informative, and I especially like that different players using different basses provide the viewer with a variety of sound examples.
    Take the complainers with a grain of salt and keep up the good work :D And we all need Nick Maffei to show us MORE BASS FACE !!!!

    Sounds awesome, particularly the bass end. Now added to my wish list. All I have to do now is find more hours in a day to pay for it 🙂

    just curious - is it illegal to demo a bass pedal in an actual mix with a guitar and drums, and maybe even keyboards? A demo with bass and drums only doesn't count as hearing the bass "in the mix" to me.

    • @patrickhorner8270
      @patrickhorner8270 2 года назад

      Hi Plamen. I don't know if Illegal is the best word to use, it isn't against any particular law, but you make a valid point. Having a guitar and or keyboards in the mix might be a a better way to judge just how well a pedal holds its own. However, being able to hold it's own even in this context says a lot for the pedal.

    why the hell would you put a treble control at 12 khz... really cool pedal but id argue that anything over 5 khz is useless on bass

    Yeah, when I wanna hear what a pedal sounds like, the best way is to take 15 different bass players all playing with different settings, and make sure to include some people playing metal or tapping… for a pedal meant for bass guitar and upright bass… 🙃

      Is that…. Bad? Or good? I mean… living in Vegas I appreciate dry air. Humidity sucks… also is it Vegas NV or Vegas NM…. So many questions…

    I'm not a fan of this new direction the channel's taking. We don't need the weasel words or the sales pitch.

      We’ve been doing this pretty much since day 1. Our demo videos consist of our own sound samples coupled information provided by the manufacturer. Nothing about this video is a sales pitch. We don’t tell you to buy any product, and we won’t tell you to not buy a product. That’s for you to decide. We’re just here to help.

      @@TheBassChannel I don't doubt that your reviews are indeed objective and I appreciate the quality reviews. I'm just saying that we don't need to be told the equalizer is high precision or that the quality matches the finest recording equipment and whatnot. Those are meaningless words that just detract from the otherwise quality work you guys are doing. I've been watching you guys from day 1 too, and no, it wasn't always like this.

      @@kanesmith4961 Can't be sure, but by judging on the dynamics of his speech here only, I'd say that he read it straight from the product manual. They did it for the EHX Battalion for example, which I own, and I've recognized those exact sentences. If that's the case in general here when they're describing an item, I think its fine because it's the manufacturer's 'sugar coating' which they're just forwarding to viewers.
