    Lonzo: "NO, YOU GOT IT!!!"
    Shit had the whole theater cracking up. Without Lonzo's stage NWA might have never happened though. It sparked the interest even more.

    One krazy fact. Alot of people went thru Lonzo. Ice Cube, Dr. Dre., DJ Battlecat, Compton'sMost Wanted/MC Eiht, Kid Disater (K-Dee) . Even The Unknown DJ was mentored up under Lonzo in the pre West Coast days.. If you dint know all underground mixed records like Scratch Party 1,2,3..., Mix Trix 1,2,3....., etc. were thru Lonzo....

    If you listen to the N.W.A and the Posse version of Boys In The Hood you can actually hear most of the spots where Eazy's vocals are "punched in." Most rappers can do an entire verse in one take. I can't imagine how laborious it had to be to record the song one bar at a time. But hey, Eazy had a very distinct voice and as history has shown, they made the right choice.

    • @VAswang

      From what i know Sug beat the shit outta Eazy in order to let Dre go from Ruthless, thats why Eazy wanted to kill Knight; there was no tough Dre either, i remember people telling stories of him crying to Sug just to let him go from Death Row. Dre beat a lot of bitches(mostly female lmao) but he lived a nightmare at DeathRow.

    • @tinnic
      @tinnic 9 лет назад +21

      +TheKillahAkASuperP No Biopic can be 100% accurate. If only because you have to condense many, many years into just a few hours. Also, the movie has to be entertaining and narratively sound. So I don't think anyone set out to bullshit the audience. But they probably did have to condense a few things and make certain characters a "composite" of general attitudes and stuff. Plus its not like these guys have been keeping silent. By the sounds of it, everybody has released a book and cashed in on N.W.A's fame/infamy long before the movie came out. The movie will serve as a good gateway for those truly interested to discover all these books, interviews, documentaries and get a fuller story, from multiple perspectives.

      No shit. The movie was seriously Dr. Dre's fantasy of how shit went down. I remember the first time I saw "Straight Outta Compton," I immediately started to think/feel like the movie was basically "the history of NWA/Death Row/West Coast Gangsta Rap" according to Dr. Dre. Or, at least, the way Dre wished/wanted "The History" to look like. Then after listening to all these DJ Vlad interviews, it became pretty clear that my intuition was right.

    This dude kinda contradicted himself a bit. First he made it seem as if he always knew they had talent to make it and he never dissed the music (like in the movie), then he says that when Eazy gave Jerry the tape he says "I don't know, sounds good but I don't know, they talking some crazy shit". That shit dont sound like he thought they'd make it or that he liked it. It's obvious that this dude wasn't convinced by them.

    I'd really like to see more from Lonzo on the history of NWA. Its doubtful well ever get a genuine description of those times from the members of the group because they have reputations that the truth could compromise. While I dont believe Lonzo's version of events should be swallowed hook, line, and sinker as the authentic 100% accurate version of the events, because he may have his own embellishments to add, I place more stock in what he has to say than any of them.
