I was told by a few elders that were around Peter from the early days that Peter used to be a fun loving jovial guy with a dry sense of humour but after a car crash as well as the incident of police beating him in the head that it changed him & he would go through bouts of depression, anger & could be hard to be around due to mood swings. I suspect that Peter may have been suffering from undiagnosed concussions & lived with head trauma the remainder of his life. Idk. Just a perspective i heard while hanging around some Elders in Kingston.

Chris Whiteworst as Bunny and Bob rightfully called him knew exactly what his master plan was from day 1. Respect to Bunny, and Peter too for not compromising their integrity as bona-fide Rasta. As well as respect to Bob for doing what he needed to do to break through. Each of the Wailers did their thing a little way different. Sometimes there is no right or wrong way when the choices given are a tried and tested game that more than likely Chris Whiteworst knew all too well.

This is the second of this guy's program that I have watched, I like his erudition and brilliant manner of asking questions and follow up questions. He brilliantly directs or redirects guests away from rambling or boredom-like state.
From all the research that I have done, and interviews involving Peter that I had listened to, my understanding is that the breakup of the Wailers was spearheaded by Chris Blackwell and one of the main reasons was due to the name of the band suddenly changed from the Wailers to Bob Marley and the Wailers, and this was only discussed between Blackwell and Bob and Peter and Bunny were not consulted. Secondly, Bunny could not have influenced Peter to leave the group as after Bunny left, Peter continued to tour with the band. In Peter's words (from interviews) Peter said that he could not continue to be a 'decorator' of Bob's music all his life, (as he was mostly expected to sing backup vocals) and the time had come for him to find out what was 'within me'.
In terms of music output, I feel that Peter was highly committed to issues like fighting against apartheid and the oppression of black people, and he was unapologetic and not prepared to compromise and tone down his lyrics, and this is somewhat related to the fact that Blackwell refused to promote the legalize it album. Bob on the other hand, was more open to some form of compromise which was more acceptable to a wider audience, so it follows that Bob and Peter were not likely to be attractive to the same audiences. In the final analysis, all three Wailers left us with a legacy of excellent music, both as the Wailers and as individual artists.

Everything is not about money, you have to have principles, respect to Bunny. It was started by Chris definitely…. Peter I heard was the business man when they were the Wailers. It makes me bad about the break up because I feel they were true friends but on the other hand I say it is because it was the way it was meant to be….three great talented Souls. But very unfortunate in life some people don’t get the glory or honor they deserve. Justice and peace is a part of the same coin, we need a Peter and a Bob, including Bunny. A point to be made is that they kept the message in the music.

Just a question: did Bob Marley have Faults? I have only ever hear good about Marley.
Of course, he’s human. But people want to make it look like Bob drop from heaven, they were all rebels. I read somewhere where Bob beat up the man that took bullets for him not long before when they tried to kill him. Ziggy asked him why he did it, don’t recall his response. But I think the guy might’ve rob him….or whatever…. He was definitely over-sexed, he, Bob, said his only vice is plenty women.
