    There is a little mistake in your information provided. DMSGuild is for WOTC products only, and for authors to print WOTC IP specific material only. Drivethrurpg is for all other games and types of publishing. You do not need to be part of some larger company to publish on either site. THe big difference is that you can only print WOTC IP on DMsguild, and when you do, WOTC owns the publication rights to what you print there and you can not print it any other place. I have material and books for sale on both of these sites.

    I buy a lot of PDFs from Drivethru and always wondered what the printed ones were like. Thanks for the information.

    Fantastic video. Super helpful as we are currently looking at publishers for our RPG and these are great tips. Drive thru seems pretty great and as a book/game developer i am feeling like having access to pod flexiblity and to the network of lovers of RPGS is huge. thanks Stephen. Love your vibe on the videos. cheers

    Drivethrurpg are amazing... IMO amazing for everyone be it users, publishers and even more so small creators :-) even if you just want PDFs its great! they also have other websites for Wargames and other stuff like cards and so on. I just ordered "sacrifice an incense & iron rpg" the other day I have the PDFs but want the the hardcopies. Its a really cool OSR type game, very dark and Bezerk like setting. Built in solo rules and for parties of people as well. Can easily be adapted for any setting just plugin what you want and add extra roll chats or pre done "monsters" from other settings and you should be good to go.

    The POD of Castle Amber still has the map on the front and back covers.... They sent me a replacement, that had the same error.

    Very good video. I'm already waiting for my first order of reprints from Drive Thru RPG. This really gave me a better idea of what to expect with the ones I ordered so far.

    Thanks for the video (very informative), you mentioned DriveThruRPG tends to release around 2 new titles a month. I am one of those odd balls who is not always looking for a specific title. Have you considered putting out a short video each month focusing on the new D&D releases?

      I have a handful of videos showcasing some other print on demand books from dtrpg, but to do a review of each new release I'd have to buy each one first. In the future I hope to be a richer man, and perhaps I can afford them all.

    Thank you for this informative video. I have wondered, if you order the PDF only and a POD version becomes available in the future, do they give a discounted rate?

    • @DnDnBeer
      @DnDnBeer  Год назад +1

      I wouldn't think so. The discount seems to apply to the pdf in a bundle. DTRPG uses an outsourced printer, and it's the printer who sets the price.

    Do you prefer the softcover or hardcover? I see you've gotten a lot of these so I value your opinion. I really want to start getting some of these books at a good price. Thanks.

      If there is a hardcover option I will buy it over the softcover. There is nothing wrong with the softcover options though. It's really a matter of preference.

      @@DnDnBeer I've seen a few recent reviews saying that the binding on the hardcover copy do not last. The only books I have from them are softcovers of Clanbook: Toreador & Tzimisce - Revised Edition. Been looking to pick up the Vampire: The Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition, but it putting me off getting it because I don't want to pay £94 for a hardcover that's binding is going to fall apart. I wish I could still buy the original or deluxe edition instead.

    I wonder where they find publishers, is it possible they are in China?
