How did I miss this one? This is such a lovely eightfold pattern. Tiling and painting it yielded such a beautiful painting. I am looking at the central zone surrounded by four khatams, almost a great design for a Charbagh.
Hi Samira, thank you, I love your videos 👍 One question: do you use the traditional Islamic method for constructing your patterns? Some people use western methods and so don't get it right 😉
I guess you’ve seen Mohamad Aljanabi’s video then - question is can you tell the difference when using this terminology! It is powerful & important stuff, the only thing is I’m not clear on his terminology/grouping of methods s I’ve learnt from multiple sources (including his own vast & valuable instruction!). I do however take great care to refine and check what I do and share methods that give the *correct outcomes proportions and patterns*. So for example, this set of twelvefold rosettes have petals with four equal sides and the pentagrams/stars in between have optimal balance ( they can never be perfect regular pentagrams in this setting of twelvefold).
@@samiramian haha, yes, I got that from him 😉 he explains how all patterns are related to each other and if you get the proportions wrong with one it won't relate to all others that are in the correct proportions. They all fit together using the same shapes. Your website us great 👍🤗 thank you Samira 🙏
I am the happiest fo discovering your channel! These designs are always so fascinating. One question, how is there space between your lines in the painted version? I'm a beginner and I feel I may end up without the white spaces between colore

some patterns share a basic underlying grid because they are from the same system/family of symmetry. so other 8fold patterns will share the underlining grid of this one.
MA Sha Allah. can you connect lines angles spheres etc based on Quranic values. for example Allahu 19 8th Prime), 55 (10th fibonacci and triangular ) Al Islam 22, 67 (19th prime). meaning of Islam come from following words. ## As Salaam 13 ( 7th Fibonacci and 6th Prime), 67 ## As Lama 11( 5th prime), 47 ( 15th prime) 67th surah in Al qur'an is Al Mulk Akhiruzzaman 149(35th prime), 59 (17th prime) Sacrifice for Allahu 86, 167 Al-Malhama Al-Kubrah 55 (10th fibonacci and triangular ), 136 ( 16th triangular number). also notice 13 is 6th prime too.

Thank you so much, try and see how you go, to be honest the more you practice the better your accuracy and white line gaps will be!

Quick question, would rubbing the trace Paper with the design onto Bristol give you clear line work like it does with water color paper ?
Try it, and be very careful so the paper doesnt move...
جميلة جداً 💜
Wooow bellissimo!!
superb ...
what type of paper and colors u use ...give a link if they available online..
i used 300 gsm coldpress watercolour from Cass Art watercolours are from Hobby Craft and the metallic gouache by Royal Talens.

هل هذه الخطوط المساعده اساس لكل افكار الاشكال ؟ ام ان هناك خطوط مساعدة بشكل مختلف -
some patterns share a basic underlying grid because they are from the same system/family of symmetry. so other 8fold patterns will share the underlining grid of this one.
I was worried about the splatters
You could also use plain paper and stick it around the edges using sticky tack if not tape
Whatever you need, for me it's fine, I dont mind I'm not a perfectionist....!
@@samiramian it's so nice that the paint comes off right like that. Wishing the best for your hobby and channel

it's on A4 paper and the radius of the compass is 7cm... have a go!

not sure about connecting these patterns to abjad numbers, i know others have done so historically especially in Iran.
@@samiramian Abjad cipher is inaccurate. no worries sister inshaAllah it shall come to you when time is right.
