Eli knocked this one out of the park. This is his second solo arrangement with his usual lighting brilliance. Thank you for always giving them another chance. They've come a long way in the last three years. The way they bring emotions into the song is unmatched.
Cesar hits all the feels and makes me cry. Who hasn't had this talk with themselves in the mirror as a teen?
I actually fully agree. The fact that Voiceplay genuinely gets better and better and they're 20+ years into it, proves to me their always willing to learn, change, and grow.
Now of course the other 2 of the big 3 are fantastic. There isn't a dispute for that, but there's something to be said for always pushing the boundaries of your comfort zone that allows for continual growth.
They were all so vulnerable in this one. Even when they went full throttle and Eli unleashed his inner rock lead voice.
Great reaction- thanks! Yes, Voice Play has worked so hard and are beyond amazing now! This one is unusual as Eli did the arrangement, lighting editing and so much more (Geoff and Layne usually do the arrangements). Voice play and Omar Cardona will be doing a show with the band, Chicago, in November at the casino in NJ and we are all very excited for them.
VoicePlay was always my number 2 of the Big 3... but their growth has been insane over the past couple years; to where it's not even close for them now being number 1, in my opinion.
Watching your face was wonderful. I am very old and didn't know this song at all. Didn't matter, because the arrangement and performance was just amazing!!
After they did this one with that gut wrenching feel, they had to do something silly. Drunken Sailor was next and it is great!! Be sure to watch to the end if you react to it!
And their Halloween piece will be out in a week or two.
Thanx again for getting back to Voiceplay and agreeing with me. ;)
This gave me the shivers and the chills as well. And it’s one of my favorite songs of all time so I feel protective of it. I can’t stop listening to this cover, it’s amazing.
It is stunning and beautiful. Loved the mirrors where they looked there for their faults. You've come a long way baby! I did love your reaction.
They really have seriously upped their game lately. Really, since New Years in particular, they've just turned up. Always appreciate your honest reactions, good sir! ❤ I really enjoyed watching you experience this song!
Always honest. Always appreciated. I adore how eloquently you speak. Respect.
I soooo agree with what you said. Voiceplay IMHO has stepped it up exponentially in the last year with their covers of Nothing Else Matters, Valhalla Calling, Seven Nation Army, In the air Tonight, Dragonborn Comes are all amazing. Going back in time Warriors, Hoist The Colours, 21 Pilots Mashup, Dream On are all incredible too. But I agree, Voiceplay has shot up to the top!!
Well said! Great reaction. Stay Blessed!
Oh, I love what Layne did with the beatboxing on this!!! And the arrangement is soooo good! Loved your reaction. 😊
I have to admit that the first time I heard this it brought a tear to my eyes and made me want to hug each and every one of them.
I love your analysis and review.
I love all the groups for what they do, not in order to compare them, as I think it should be. Each group does something special that makes us love them. We should acknowledge that they are all changing and growing and that is definitely a very good thing.
This is amazing! ❤
ALRIGHT Voiceplay!!! You now have a new fan and have also Knocked out Vincint's rendition of "Creep" Great reaction too!!
I love your conviction and stance. Thank you for speaking your truth.
While I have definitely far preferred VoicePlay over the others in the Big Three, I can respect where you are coming from in regards to some of their earlier choices. I myself don't always agree with all their choices- especially in their earlier music- but I think everyone agrees that in the past couple of years, VoicePlay has turned a new page when it comes to arrangements, and what they are doing now is phenomenal. The creativity of their arrangements, coupled with their absolutely enormous ranges and vocal abilities, allows them to do things I've never heard in a cappella before; I truly, honestly believe that VoicePlay are changing contemporary a cappella. There is just something different about their sound- always has been- and it never fails to connect with me.
Voiceplay is definitely my number 1!
I'd not heard this before and man was I missing out! THis is amazing!
Love the reaction. Thank you for my smile today I needed it.
This so phenomenally fantastic!! These guys can do anything and turn it into gold. Had to grab me a box of tissues for this one. Cesar killed it with his emotions and I feel he deserves a hug, Eli did amazing with this arrangement. I have no words. I mean They all put so many emotions into this song. I was crying through most of it, and I have cried everytime I watch it. It is already on my playlist! Great reaction!!
So emotional... just hits in the feels.
The pandemic was good for them. They couldn’t tour and it forced them to pivot hard to videos. But being off the road also gave them the time to really hone their abilities.
And this year they just launched to a new level.
Great reaction. Love hearing your thoughts .
I like to consider them as 1A, 1B, 1C.
Put them in any order you like, but they're all the best, each with their own niche.
Astounding!!
Great reaction as always Drama.
Voiceplay and Geoff Castellucci released their Halloween videos Saturday on their Patreons. They are fantastic. Both are Disney movie Villain songs.
They should be on RUclips in a week or two.
Voiceplay always awesome!! DramaSyd, you should react to "Good in Goodbyes", an original by Angelina Jordan from her new EP, "Old Enough"
Totally, 100% agree with you! Voiceplay were also my number three of the trifecta back in the day - I still loved them, but, like you, didn't rate them as highly as PTX and Home Free. Definitely in the last few years they have REALLY upped their game, and are now taking risks with their material that the other groups (no longer being independent artists) can't really afford to do. In the past, that didn't always pay off for them, but I think now, with the combination of finding exactly the right blend of members, (both permanent and guest artists) and Eli coming out of his shell a bit more and giving us more of his rock god tenor vocals, they're going from strength to strength.
Loved your reaction and explanation, I concur.
Voiceplay, over the last few years, has grown by leaps and bounds, in my opinion. They have been tackling some big songs, songs that when announce, have given me pause because the originals are so wonderful, but, they very rarely disappoint me. They have a way of paying homage to the original and still making it their own that treads a fine line, and they don't often miss a step.
Also, I second the suggestion I read in an earlier comment to check out The Bass Gang. They did a collaboration with Tim from Home Free that was excellent, but their new release, Arabian Nights, blew me away.
I'm right there with you. I love The Big 3, each for their unique sound and talent. But VP is my top choice also. For about the last year, it sounds to me like they have upped their game with each new release.
Love your reactions.
Wowzers!😢
Lovely reaction 🙂
Geoff continues to be a beast. Enjoyed this cover by VP. I think I still prefer the version by PMJ with Haley Reinhart. You are right, the purity of the Acapella genre should be relished before it’s gone, lost to the ravages of some AI program. Love your passion Michael.
Good Lord!
Please do PTX CREEP REACTION.
