I'm now the current owner of this knife. Serial number confirmed! You and my brother used to trade knives and he then gave it to me as a gift some time ago!
Thank you for what you do Jeff, I'm a collector on a budget and one of your videos introduced me to ganzo, and now ruike. I just ordered my first folder from them, can't wait to use it
Just received my F815-B ( Black G10 version) For the money ( on sale $100 Au including delivery & postal insurance) A very nice knife. Shaving sharp out the box. Great feel & reasonable balance in hand & the sheath just flat out works & is an easy draw & easy carry with a multitude of adjustments for both Left & Right handers. Best fixed blade I've purchased so far. 5 out of 5. Compare to Helle Alden 2 out of 5 for $190 Au. shoddy scandi grind on blade bevel ( uneven on both sides & grinding gall marks so deep I thought they were serrations. Tang mounting pommel crooked due to both the handle and pommel ground wrong and hammered in at a crooked angle. No provision for left handed carry. Hot spots all over curly birch handle. All requring extensive work to make comfortable & functional. Their advertising is right "it is impossible to replace the skillful hands of a true craftsman" They would do well to sack the brain dead meat toilets responsible for the turd I own and discover what actually employing the above might achieve. Dpx HEST Assault II $209 Au 0 out of 5. Failed to function as a knife at all out of the box. Would be considered uselessly blunt even as a chisel. Sheath advertised as tactical but if used for that will virtually guarantee you die. Impossible to quick draw so worse than useless for tactical. Blade geometry is totally flawed. Too thick and causes excessive cutting resistance leading to dangerous loss of blade control from excessive effort required to cut. Total fail. Through being a total GOD among swarming insects I have managed to turn the $hit these pretenders sold as "quality" knives but failed to deliver into something that actually functions as a knife. The Ruike has no such issues and at half the price of the fraudulent pretenders delivers VASTLY better performance at half the cost. They even cryo temper a higher level steel than the Helle 12C27 Vs Ruike Cryo 58-60 Rockwell 14C28. As far as I'm concerned the Chinese DESERVE to take over. They make real knives and don't insult their own customers and defraud them by selling overpriced over hyped garbage that utterly fails to deliver for its intended function. They simply deliver a great knife at a fantastic price. And can with pride declare Made in CHINA as a badge of honour. I have no vested interest in Ruike other than being a satisfied customer. Wish I could say the same for the other crap I own.
You should review the ruike p801 I've been meaning to get it but there aren't too many reviews or test videos it would be great if you could review that
Would love for some of these reviewers to actually do stress tests on the Ruike knives. So far they seem too good to be true for the price point and it's hard to find any real discussion on them aside from completely positive reviews.
hey, Jeff. I'd like to share a story with you about knives. (but please pardon my english i am not a native speaker.. greetings from germany ;D ) today i went to get droceries at a german supermarket named Aldi Süd and they had pocket knives for 3.99€ (4.69$). I was sceptical, but thought hey why not. so i bought 2 different looking ones not knowing anything about those knives. the only thing the packing said about the steel was stainless, so maybe 420 or 440? anyways, when i got home i took them out of the box and tried to open id.. without much success, because the backlock in those knives also locks the blade when it's folded in. so you have to push the backlock to fold out the blade and then push it again to fold it in. this was so incredibly annoying, that i took all of the screws out of the knife that actually had screws, tool out the blade and filed down the nose where the backlock snaps in. it worked pretty well, the blade stayed in place when folded in but you didn'Ät have to press the backlock to fold the blade out. Unfortunately it was not possible to take apart the other knife, it was bolted and pressed together without any screws and because i didn't want to damage it, i took a dreml Tool with a cutting disc on it and used that cutting disc to file down the locking nose on the other knife as well. Then i only needed to chage to a sandpaper disc to make almost every edge a bit round and less sharp (they were all ridiculously sharp out of the box, except the blade edge itself of course) and soak the blades in WD40 because every time i moved the blade i heared a scratching sound.. but now, after a lot of work, the knives are actually pretty good and even legal to carry in germany (we have some really shite knive laws here) and with al that work those knives are at least worth double the money. and a fun fact; the blade is even after my grinding still more secure than other backlock knives for 5 times the price
According to Ruike on IG, from the picture they pm'ed me, they said that the Triangle stands for the year of manufacture and the Number stands for the month. In your case it was made in April of 2017. Gotta say, their support team is excellent, though there is a 12hr response time due to the timezone difference.
The company itself says it's pronounced "rake." It probably still says it on the website. I can see where everyone is mistaken, though. I had to look it up, just to get the correct pronunciation.
Yes I know. I wonder how do they compare? They could be made in the same factory. But the sheath is a little different. Maybe the steel is actually the same only they put different markings on It to justify higher price tag on the Ruike? Who knows? I recently bought a Sanrenmu 7130 (no scale version) and I rather like It.
I always thought company was pronounced "Ryookie" or something like that. Anyway, I've actually had this knife for several months now and it's great. the only thing that bothers me is the plastic moulded detente that retains the knife is kind of worn out. You can shake the knife out of the sheath. Still, it's a work knife, and I keep it tucked under my high vis vest anyway. No big deal
Rake. That's how it's pronounced, despite looking nothing like that. It's pretty confusing. Nevertheless, they are making unbelievably good knives. I have the P801 and the P121 and the action is better than lots of assisted knives. Better than lots of $100+ knives. It's really mind-boggling.

Gifts are always To be through in dust bean.

I can't pretend to know for certain, but I've often heard the brand referred to as 'rake'
you are correct sir
Picked up the RUIKE model P801-SF and it has without a doubt become one of my favorite folders. Amazing bang for buck.
I bought the P108-sf after seeing your review of it. I really like it. I'm definitely going to buy more Ruike knifes.
Well now I feel left out, what was the original thumbnail?
part of the arm hair shaving so it looked like I was just cutting myself so I changed it, my thumbnails are random frames from the video picked by YT

Does the hollowing out of the handle on a large knife change the ergo's? Like does your hand get fatigue differently because it's more tip heavy?
you should check out the ruike jager, much beefier, 4.5inch blade, canvas micarta handle, like a becker bk 16 with sandvick steel and micarta
Can that knife be purchased without scales? I love my neck knives paracord wrapped.
i have the Ruike Hussar, and it's a fantastic flipper. So pleased with it.
I got the P801 a little bit ago and it's great so far
Jeff, did you also get demonitized by RUclips?
Please do more slipjoints preferably blade under 3 inches for your uk viewers
What's the steel like? Ps. I liked the previous thumbnail!
I have the P135-sf and also the Fang love them both. Will be getting more from this company.
Love your videos Jeff keep up the good work
I don't have any experience with that steel. What other steel is it comparable to?
Munchie85 I don't have many Knives with this steel but it's definitely better than 440c
Anyone else notice the JAVs in the amazon link?
Grind off the top thumb ramp. Still fits the sheet fine. I made another anyhow.
Mine came Razor sharp, I strop it, it turned out scary sharp.

Any knife from ruike is worth it, I really like your dark wash p108
Nice looking knife, might have to put it on my list :)
Where can you get them?
Amazon, but other places as well.
You should do a review on the crkt brow tine
Hey Jeff, do you have an experience or recommendations on a good ankle/leg knife?
airsoftsupersnake he has a video on a boot knife that might work

I don't have this one yet but I'm adding it to my list. I can't believe I don't have any Ruike knives, not yet at least.
Please don't think of purchasing it.
@sunilkhisti4887
I gave it away a long time ago & it was just ok. But what was it you didn't like about this knife?
You should try marttiini knifes
Looks nice.
Cool knife!!!!
If they fixed the ergos on that ramp and jimped it I'd be a buyer
This knife is sold under Sanrenmu brand as model 7132 if someone's interested.
thanks for the info but the sanrenmu mode uses a different steel (8Cr14Mov)

Charles Collier Yeah, if Chinese companies get better, they could mass produce good quality Knives. Ruike and We Knives have demonstrated this.
I like that knife
Please don't even try. Can't be re sharpened at all. So don't even consider.
every knife can be resharpened if you cant do it its your poor sharpening skills...
