I know if I got one I would mod it right away. lol Mainly why I modded my Space Invaders Arcade1up with a Dell PC. I got the cabinet at Walmart for $150 plus tax and free shipping. The big thing besides the horrible volume issue was it only had two games on it. And I have never been a big fan of Space Invaders to begin with. I could never get past the first screen in the hundreds of times I have played it in my life. lol But one thing I have to admit, is the artwork and graphics on the machine are beautiful and nostalgic. So getting back to the cabinets. Going to probably continue to work on the Frogger cabinet some tonight. Was your Space Invaders the 40th like mine is? Hope you are doing well man. Take care

I had a Gen 2 Countercade but it was too small in every way. This Gen 1 is a much better size but screen size would need to be 11" or 12" minimum. Hopefully Arcade1up will listen to their fans & re-release this form-factor with a bigger screen.
Frank, agreed 100. I have two Gen 1 countercades, this one and also Dig Dug. I had these for about 9 months now along with my 20 plus 3/4 scales and I enjoy the heck outta these just as much. They are really cool and fun to play; HOWEVER, the Gen 2 are a different story. I had the QVC exclusive Ms.Pacman, because I love missy p so much but I just could NOT bring myself to keep that cab. It is entirely too small for grown man mittens, that's for sure! I sold that thing after just a few weeks owning it. The 2nd Gen Partycades are the best alternative to the 3/4 scale imho. They are really, really nice and the most versatile as well as offer the most games for half the price of the 3/4 scale.

Yeah I remember when Walmart had this deal for 69.99 they had this Space Invaders and also Dig Dug. And they sold out in like 2 hours. Gotta love those Walmart clearance specials.

Next time, before offing one of the all-time greats, consider what I did and just throw it in the closet 😁 I have both the 3/4 and the countercade. I think the cabcades are a good addition to the 3/4 scale for those who either don't have the room in their home or small quarters, etc. or need something to match their budget. I would definitely go for specific cabcades if I enjoy the games that much. Overall, I think there's a market for the cabcades if they can add more games much like the 3/4 scale arcade cabs and would definitely fit the top down style games such as Space Invaders, Ms. Pac-man, Frogger, Time Pilot, etc. If Ac1up makes another Taito cabinet I think they need to add more classic hits like Bubble Bobble, Arkanoid(one of my favorites), Elevator Action and throw in both Space Invaders plus anything else that Taito released in the arcades and it would be an awesome arcade cab to own if they make it a reality for all of us who remember them(which is pretty much anyone who was born in the 70s and 80s primarily).

That Dig Dug countercade looks really good. if that one was available when I ordered this, I would’ve grabbed that as well. I’m really liking the A1UP countercades 👍
Great review. I have 4 of the HSN/QVC Partycades. Love em! 17 inch screen. But yeah, 8 inch screen, just too small. 10 or 12 would be better. Cabinets are so sweet and high quality. That 3/4 scale Space Invaders cab really is a art masterpiece. Love the look of that cab. How cool would it be if they did a Taito Legacy cab?
