James, another great video and advice. I have a personal question, you intimated that you are colour blind, me too - normal red green stuff. I have terrible trouble in post processing, especially with images taken with flash or filters. Often have to get my wife to tell me what looks right. Any advice? How do you get around it?
Good question Phil. I suffer from the same red green issue. I’ve just learned to live with it and accept it. So when I’m shooting and editing I don’t even think about it. I just shoot and process to what looks good, to my normal, to my eyes. Thinking about how they might look to people without the condition would drive me insane. So I don’t bother. I do often wonder if the colors in my images look awful and is everyone just being polite about it 😂

I have just changed to the Kase magnetic filter system and I'm now finding that I'm more likely to use the filters because of the simplicity of fitting to the lens. Highly recommend this magnetic system.
Excellent presentation on filters. Very helpful. I have been considering magnetic filters for some time now. Closer to making that step now. Like you, I no longer feel a need for GND filters. Thanks for sharing.
I’m enjoying these filters a lot as it saves time faffing around. I’ve ditched my previous system along with grads so yet to see how a potential dual exposure bracket or otherwise works but certainly the speed of being able to deploy filters helps as you can spend more time on other more important aspects.
I’ve had mine about a year and come to the same conclusion. As you say the cap sometimes doesn’t seem as secure but other than that they are great. Great video.

Great video James! I switched over to Kase filters about 3-4 months ago. Had Nisi before, and I have to say, these filters are wonderful! Totally agree with you. Magnetic is the way to go. Less weight, less bulk, quick changeout. Thanks for the tips on how and when to use them!
I went with the NiSi 64 CLP, an ND 1000 and a standard cpl, and have found a good balance - the 77mm with a step up ring works well for all of my lenses. The Kase does look good and I would consider it when the time comes....

Thank you for that review. I just ordered the 77mm kit with CPL, ND8 and ND64 (I can probably live without the ND1000) and the magnetic adapters for 72 and 58 mm lenses. In the long run this will be cheaper than getting CPL and ND filters for all my different filter sizes.
Hi, can I pick your brains for a moment? I see you got the 77mm kit for your 72mm lens. I have exactly the same set up with my Fuji (67mm and 72 mnm) and I was wondering if you saw any vignetting with the 72 - 77mm? I was going for the 82mm but if you do not have any issues then 77mm may be enough. Many thanks in advance
We dont have Kase Filters in South Africa ..so I have a NISI Kit..which works fine but I would love Magnetic filters ..great Video and superb examples James
Great overview James. I also use the Kase filters both the magnetic and the K100 system and they are superb. I believe the best out there plus they are very durable.

Useful content, capably presented w/o distracting hype, well illustrated w/terrific images!👍 Recall your “stuck filter” episode some time ago - good reason to switch to a mag system. “Color blind”?? Really?? Don’t recall you mentioning that before.🤔 What do you think about built-in ND filters in some cams? Here’s a tip for polarizer indoors, during lockdown: Put polarizer on cam and aim at TV/monitor screen that is displaying a white field. Rotate polarizer until image is darkest. (TV/monitor light is itself polarized.) Next, place something made of clear plastic (like cutlery or cup) between front of lens and TV/monitor - you should see colorful rainbow-like “stress” patterns in the plastic item. Slowly rotate polarizer to darken background to max. Good for unique images. Cheers, James!
Thanks Paul. Oh don’t remind me about that stuck filter. The Lee system utterly sucks compared to the kase solution I must say. I’m colour blind with certain shades with particular difficulty with greens and reds. So if I’m looking at a Holly Tree for example I’ll struggle to see the berries. It must impact how I see the world and photograph it to some extend but as I don’t know what normal looks like it’s impossible to say. I really like inbuilt ND solutions like the ones found on Olympus cameras. It’s surprising that more manufacturers haven’t adopted it as yet. Interesting tip, I’ll give it a try 👍
The kase filters are superb aren’t they. I’d love them to release a compatible lens hood. Would mean I would never have a reason to remove the adapter rings at all then.
I dropped an email to Kase about a lens hood. Apparently it is something their R&D team are looking into. Hopefully it is something that will see the light of day in the future.
I went the cheapskates route and ordered some polarisers via an auction site. I've got a 55mm screw in, which I use every other year, so it's not a biggy for me. My ND's see even less light (pun intended), so I can't justify upgrading them. I'll leave them on the front of whatever I carry about - quite a range of lenses and cameras from day to day - and see if I have an opinion one way or another whether the result is worth the faff. Considering I shoot film mostly now the results may differ from digital, and often can't be assessed at the point of pushing the shutter button.
I increasingly feel that only simple filter kits is all anyone actually needs so it sounds like you have exactly what you need. Thanks for watching Iain 👍
I've been super torn on going with a 100mm system (Kase K9) or this exact setup...you may have just convinced me to go the magnetic route! As much as I'd like to experiment with grads, I just look at my bag and can't get up the courage to carry around the extra bulk and weight of a 100mm system...
I totally agree with you limiting yourself to four filters, however was wondering how you rate Variable ND's? By having one of these you would get more choice and less filters. Thanks.
Variable nd filters are ok for video but not for photography. Most produce uneven effects across the scene and horrible banding more often than not. Only very expensive ones ever work properly

Great video James, as usual. I have a few questions though. First, did you buy the “professional” set, or the standard set?? The price difference is significant. I’m wondering if the professional set is worth the difference. Second, all the lenses I’d be using the filters on are 77mm. Would the 82mm size be large enough to eliminate vignetting? My widest lens is a 16-35mm. The 95mm set is WAY more expensive that 82mm. Thanks again for all your videos. They’ve helped me in more that one occasion ..
Thanks Joseph! I've got the professional set as it gives me all the filters I felt I needed, I believe the standard kit gives you less filters. I think the 82mm would probably be fine for you given that 77mm is your biggest size (i'm not 100% sure on that though). Hope that helps 👍

When I was using both the 10 stop ND filter and the polarizer at the same time, there was a very tiny bit of vignette going but it wasn’t anything to worry about. I don’t know if the Canon lens would be the same or not. I really like the filters though. Good luck !!
hmmm. using a CPL on a wide angle when there is sky in the image is a dicey venture; ruin the image and there is no way to save it. been there. great vid thanks!
Great video James. I’m just buying into the KW Revolution system for my Olympus OM-1 system. I have 4 lenses with 72mm size which is handy. Everyone recommends the next size up because of vignetting, including case. It’s quite rare I use any more than two filters but do I need that 77mm size. Your thoughts would be welcome. Thanks.
I have the Kase magnetic filters and used them two days ago to take long exposure images of Panther Creek Falls in Washington State. I noticed heavy vignette with the 14-30mm f/4 S. I had to crop it since the vignette at the corners are very bad. I wish This video was available before getting the filters and gotten the bigger size. I got the 82 mm size :(
N00b question.eta say I have three lenses. A 100-400 Canon (77mm) and a 16-35 canon (82mm) am I correct in thinking you need a different filter system for each size lens?
Very good video James! Really interesting stuff with regard to the KASE magnetic filter system with its circular polariser, as well the 3-, 6-, and 10-stop fixed ND filters. But -- with respect to the ND filters -- what about the alternative of using a VARIABLE filter (instead of a series of separate, FIXED ND filters). How do you compare the two alternative solutions? Are they really "alternative" and of equal value after all? Was KASE right in proposing (and including in the leather case) three separate fixed ND filters instead of (for more practicality, on the face of it) just one variable ND filter?
Thank you. For video the variable ND filters can be a good option but I find them pretty useless for serious photography. They produce an uneven ND effect across the scene which effectively creates uneven exposures.
James you mention that the filter size is 95mm. The Z 14-24mm filter size thread is 82mm and the Z 24-70mm is 72mm. Kase advertise a 77mm, 82mm and 95mm filter sets. Which did you buy for your Z lenses??

Thanks for this video. Question for example: can you keep a 67 mm Kase UV filter on a 67 mm filter thread lens all the time, leave it there, and then step up from that to 82 mm filters? How do you attach the step up ring to the 67 mm filter? Does the Kase 67 mm UV filter have threads on both sides?

I’m in the Z system as well and am inches from purchasing the 14-30 F4 and the Kase magnetic system, but curious if you had poor results trying the 82mm filters and went up to the 95 mm. Was there lots of vignetting with the 82mm which would fit the lens precisely?
I use the 95mm filters for that exact reason - 82mm ones will vignette with super wide angles. I'd recommend moving to the bigger size. Thanks for watching

Hey, liking your content. Keep it up! So I have a very similar setup to you (Z7, 14-30/4, 24-70/4 and the Kase 95mm filter set). The Kase filter setup is wonderful, but has a couple of quirks. On my set anyway, I find that the 3-stop ND has a weaker magnetic attraction than the 6-stop 10-stop and CPL. Feels to me that it's about half as "sticky" as the others. It still works, but for some reason it irritates the OCD part of my brain. I wonder if my copy of that filter is from an earlier production run or something. I'm wondering if you have noticed a similar quirk with your 3-stop?
I have the 82mm filters with a Z 14-30 on a Z6. I find that one filter does vignette at 14mm, but zooming in to just 15mm fixes that. For me, that’s not worth the significant extra cost of the 95mm set. YMMV.

Excellent video and well explained. I am new to filters and am considering these for my Fuji lenses. I will need step up rings as the lenses are 67mm and 72mm. Do you have any issues with the rings sticking or being hard to remove from your lens? I understand aluminium threads are the culprits with the brass ones being better. Not sure what these are made of though. (Kase's own step up rings I mean) Also can you advise on whether 77mm would be OK or should I go for the 82 mm to avoid vignetting? Or is 72 to 77 enough? Thanks Nigel. No issues with the rings getting stuck, they are oversized compared to the lens so very easy to remove compared to normal screw filters. I can't really advise on what size to go for as it's very specific advice that differs from lens to lens. Basically if you shooting wider than say 18mm full frame, then there's a good chance you'll need something oversized. Home that helps

Looking at these kase filters to replace my Lee set. I don't use the grads much anymore and feel the set up can put me off setting it all up when I might only just use the polariser! Also how do you get on using the adapted 70-200 f4?
I have a adapter ring for the 70-200 which I just screw on as and when required to take these filters. I could buy another kase lens cap for it but it doesn’t get as much use as the other two so I haven’t bothered

Kase magnetics are great, so easy to use and dont take lots of space. Graduated nd filter is maybe only thing, kase cant do well, because line goes allways at middle, since you cant move it up/down. They should make versions with 1/3 and 2/3 🤔

I am back with a question. When I first watched this episode when it was released, I felt this is the solution I am looking for. Now I am on the edge, ready to order. I have a similar Nikon Z set of equipment and lenses. I anticipate getting the same 4 filter kit from Kase, 95mm to work with the 14-30mm lens. I have other lenses and plan to purchase step up rings for them. Are there any concerns I should know about before I make the commitment. Thanks for sharing.

After much deliberation I finally decided to go with these Kase filters too. Haven't shot with them yet, but I did notice that my 3 stop and 6 stop filters had significantly weaker magnetism than the other filters (10 stop, and CPL being the strongest because it has the thickest ring). Same results across multiple adapter rings. Did anyone else experience this? I've sent those 2 filters back to be replaced, hopefully it's just a fluke!

@@KarenVaisman1 yes I did! I don’t remember the details exactly, but it was either a problem w individually purchased filters, or with some of the kit options. I think the place I purchased from swapped out some filters from a full kit and sent those to me as a replacement. The replacements work great. There is a code printed in the rings and the one indicated a bad batch-I would have to look that up for you later in photos at home. I do still find my “lens cap” to be a little weak, esp if you stack filters, it can get knocked off in your camera bag, but I don’t use it too often.
Following up: the printing on the updated filters have the code "BJH02" or BJG02" at the end. E.g., for a 6-stop filter, mine reads "Kase MAGNETIC KW-ND64 95mm BJH02". The filters with weak magnets did not have the "BJH02" at the end.
Hello James!! excuse me but I've been desperately searching without much luck. basically I am trying to find three type of filters that I can screw on individually and in combination in order to have flexibility. I know that the VND from primslens fx does have a frontal screw on it, but now I need a CPL with frontal screw and eventually a blackmist filter with frontal screw on it as well, so I can combine them as I like or as I said, use them Individually... I mean, is this even a thing or is it simply not possible to do it or why is there so little information about it... However if theres a magnetic alternative like yours, that would be awesome, I just dont find enough info about the topic of filter stacking in general so please, if someone can help me out I'd aprreciate it a lot!
Hi. very informative video. Im actualy leaning towards purshasing this kit to my IRIX Firefly 15mm. It has 95mm thread so I should get the 95mm kit obviosly. But with these kits you cant use the Lens hood anymore? Is that an issue or is the filters so well coated that they prevent any flare to enter the camera? 2:nd question. If I want to use the 95mm filters on my canon 17-40mm lens with 77mm tread I simply buy the 77mm ring for 95mm filters ? //Mikael
Hey James I have a question. I'm looking at getting the exact set of filters you have but mainly shoot with a 24-105 and 100-400 that are both 77mm for my landscapes. I'm mainly getting the 95mm set in case I get the Sony 14-24 that is an 82mm thread. I was curious if you found the 95mm cumbersome, like getting things in and out of your pack or if it just doesn't bother you at all. Any downsides besides no more lens hoods? Thanks, and great video!
Hi Mark, go with the 95mm, it will save you from Vignette at 14mm. I don't find its large size any real issue really. The kase pouch is very small and as far as i'm aware a standard size. So smaller filters don't actually save any space anways. Only downside is lack of lens hoods as you say but that's only a minor concern. You will love them 👍
Hi James, love your content! Quick question. I have the Nikon z setup with 14-30 and 24-70 f4 as you do and purchased the 95mm kase filters per your recommendation. I love their ease of use as you described but my cpl does not seem to turn easily when placed on the lens step up ring. Have you noticed this? The cpl scrapes the the ring when I try to turn it? Am I missing something?
Hi Dawn, there is some resistance when turning buts thats to be expected as its fighting the resistance of the magnetic attraction which is keeping it in place. It's nothing to worry about in my experience :-)
James, do you know if the polarizer of the K9 filter system is compatible with the magnetic filters? Reason I ask is I don't really use the K9 filter holder. I just use the polarizer on the magnetic adapter ring. And since I don't use any grads anymore I'm thinking of replacing my grads with magnetic ND filters and leave my K9 holder at home.
I have a question regarding ND filter size, since I have only one lens which is 24-70 F/4 S lens, I bought a 72mm ND10 filter from NiSi. My concern is should I keep buying 72mm size or bigger size filter (eg., 82mm or 77mm) with an adaptor ring for my future lense? Thank you so much in advance for your feedback.
That really depends if you intend to buy a wide angle lens like the 14-30 - if you do, then you would need to buy filters for the biggest lens. Plan for the widest lens you have, then use stop down rings from there.

Hi, can I pick your brains for a moment? I see you got the 77mm kit for your 72mm lens. I have exactly the same set up with my Fuji (67mm and 72 mnm) and I was wondering if you saw any vignetting with the 72 - 77mm? I was going for the 82mm but if you do not have any issues then 77mm may be enough. Many thanks in advance
We dont have Kase Filters in South Africa ..so I have a NISI Kit..which works fine but I would love Magnetic filters ..great Video and superb examples James

Really?? Don’t recall you mentioning that before.🤔 What do you think about built-in ND filters in some cams?
Here’s a tip for polarizer indoors, during lockdown: Put polarizer on cam and aim at TV/monitor screen that is displaying a white field. Rotate polarizer until image is darkest. (TV/monitor light is itself polarized.) Next, place something made of clear plastic (like cutlery or cup) between front of lens and TV/monitor - you should see colorful rainbow-like “stress” patterns in the plastic item. Slowly rotate polarizer to darken background to max. Good for unique images. Cheers, James!
Thanks Paul. Oh don’t remind me about that stuck filter. The Lee system utterly sucks compared to the kase solution I must say. I’m colour blind with certain shades with particular difficulty with greens and reds. So if I’m looking at a Holly Tree for example I’ll struggle to see the berries. It must impact how I see the world and photograph it to some extend but as I don’t know what normal looks like it’s impossible to say. I really like inbuilt ND solutions like the ones found on Olympus cameras. It’s surprising that more manufacturers haven’t adopted it as yet. Interesting tip, I’ll give it a try 👍
The kase filters are superb aren’t they. I’d love them to release a compatible lens hood. Would mean I would never have a reason to remove the adapter rings at all then.

The nisi v6 system is good but these are just better particularly if you don’t use ND grads like me
I went the cheapskates route and ordered some polarisers via an auction site. I've got a 55mm screw in, which I use every other year, so it's not a biggy for me. My ND's see even less light (pun intended), so I can't justify upgrading them. I'll leave them on the front of whatever I carry about - quite a range of lenses and cameras from day to day - and see if I have an opinion one way or another whether the result is worth the faff. Considering I shoot film mostly now the results may differ from digital, and often can't be assessed at the point of pushing the shutter button.
I increasingly feel that only simple filter kits is all anyone actually needs so it sounds like you have exactly what you need. Thanks for watching Iain 👍

I've been super torn on going with a 100mm system (Kase K9) or this exact setup...you may have just convinced me to go the magnetic route! As much as I'd like to experiment with grads, I just look at my bag and can't get up the courage to carry around the extra bulk and weight of a 100mm system...

I totally agree with you limiting yourself to four filters, however was wondering how you rate Variable ND's? By having one of these you would get more choice and less filters. Thanks.
Variable nd filters are ok for video but not for photography. Most produce uneven effects across the scene and horrible banding more often than not. Only very expensive ones ever work properly

Great video James, as usual. I have a few questions though. First, did you buy the “professional” set, or the standard set?? The price difference is significant. I’m wondering if the professional set is worth the difference. Second, all the lenses I’d be using the filters on are 77mm. Would the 82mm size be large enough to eliminate vignetting? My widest lens is a 16-35mm. The 95mm set is WAY more expensive that 82mm. Thanks again for all your videos. They’ve helped me in more that one occasion ..
Thanks Joseph! I've got the professional set as it gives me all the filters I felt I needed, I believe the standard kit gives you less filters. I think the 82mm would probably be fine for you given that 77mm is your biggest size (i'm not 100% sure on that though). Hope that helps 👍

When I was using both the 10 stop ND filter and the polarizer at the same time, there was a very tiny bit of vignette going but it wasn’t anything to worry about. I don’t know if the Canon lens would be the same or not. I really like the filters though. Good luck !!
hmmm. using a CPL on a wide angle when there is sky in the image is a dicey venture; ruin the image and there is no way to save it. been there. great vid thanks!
Great video James. I’m just buying into the KW Revolution system for my Olympus OM-1 system. I have 4 lenses with 72mm size which is handy. Everyone recommends the next size up because of vignetting, including case. It’s quite rare I use any more than two filters but do I need that 77mm size. Your thoughts would be welcome. Thanks.
I have the Kase magnetic filters and used them two days ago to take long exposure images of Panther Creek Falls in Washington State. I noticed heavy vignette with the 14-30mm f/4 S. I had to crop it since the vignette at the corners are very bad. I wish This video was available before getting the filters and gotten the bigger size. I got the 82 mm size :(
You should see if you can swap them for a 95mm set. That will solve your issues 👍

Very good video James! Really interesting stuff with regard to the KASE magnetic filter system with its circular polariser, as well the 3-, 6-, and 10-stop fixed ND filters. But -- with respect to the ND filters -- what about the alternative of using a VARIABLE filter (instead of a series of separate, FIXED ND filters). How do you compare the two alternative solutions? Are they really "alternative" and of equal value after all? Was KASE right in proposing (and including in the leather case) three separate fixed ND filters instead of (for more practicality, on the face of it) just one variable ND filter?
Thank you. For video the variable ND filters can be a good option but I find them pretty useless for serious photography. They produce an uneven ND effect across the scene which effectively creates uneven exposures.
James you mention that the filter size is 95mm. The Z 14-24mm filter size thread is 82mm and the Z 24-70mm is 72mm. Kase advertise a 77mm, 82mm and 95mm filter sets. Which did you buy for your Z lenses??
I use 95mm filters - anything smaller will vignette on the 14-30 @ 14mm

Thanks for this video. Question for example: can you keep a 67 mm Kase UV filter on a 67 mm filter thread lens all the time, leave it there, and then step up from that to 82 mm filters? How do you attach the step up ring to the 67 mm filter? Does the Kase 67 mm UV filter have threads on both sides?
Would a 82mm filter be o.k to stack 2 filters on a Tamron 14-28mm lens without vignette? I also have a Sony 24-105 that I would use at 82mm.

I’m in the Z system as well and am inches from purchasing the 14-30 F4 and the Kase magnetic system, but curious if you had poor results trying the 82mm filters and went up to the 95 mm. Was there lots of vignetting with the 82mm which would fit the lens precisely?
I use the 95mm filters for that exact reason - 82mm ones will vignette with super wide angles. I'd recommend moving to the bigger size. Thanks for watching

Hey, liking your content. Keep it up! So I have a very similar setup to you (Z7, 14-30/4, 24-70/4 and the Kase 95mm filter set). The Kase filter setup is wonderful, but has a couple of quirks. On my set anyway, I find that the 3-stop ND has a weaker magnetic attraction than the 6-stop 10-stop and CPL. Feels to me that it's about half as "sticky" as the others. It still works, but for some reason it irritates the OCD part of my brain. I wonder if my copy of that filter is from an earlier production run or something. I'm wondering if you have noticed a similar quirk with your 3-stop?

I have the 82mm filters with a Z 14-30 on a Z6. I find that one filter does vignette at 14mm, but zooming in to just 15mm fixes that. For me, that’s not worth the significant extra cost of the 95mm set. YMMV.

Excellent video and well explained. I am new to filters and am considering these for my Fuji lenses. I will need step up rings as the lenses are 67mm and 72mm. Do you have any issues with the rings sticking or being hard to remove from your lens? I understand aluminium threads are the culprits with the brass ones being better. Not sure what these are made of though. (Kase's own step up rings I mean) Also can you advise on whether 77mm would be OK or should I go for the 82 mm to avoid vignetting? Or is 72 to 77 enough? Thanks Nigel. No issues with the rings getting stuck, they are oversized compared to the lens so very easy to remove compared to normal screw filters. I can't really advise on what size to go for as it's very specific advice that differs from lens to lens. Basically if you shooting wider than say 18mm full frame, then there's a good chance you'll need something oversized. Home that helps

Looking at these kase filters to replace my Lee set. I don't use the grads much anymore and feel the set up can put me off setting it all up when I might only just use the polariser!
Also how do you get on using the adapted 70-200 f4?
I have a adapter ring for the 70-200 which I just screw on as and when required to take these filters. I could buy another kase lens cap for it but it doesn’t get as much use as the other two so I haven’t bothered

I don't really use lens hoods all that often - I do still carry them in my bag however as they are still useful in some circumstances 👍
Kase magnetics are great, so easy to use and dont take lots of space.
Graduated nd filter is maybe only thing, kase cant do well, because line goes allways at middle, since you cant move it up/down. They should make versions with 1/3 and 2/3 🤔
I don’t use ND grads anymore. I exposure blend everything now 👍

I am back with a question. When I first watched this episode when it was released, I felt this is the solution I am looking for. Now I am on the edge, ready to order. I have a similar Nikon Z set of equipment and lenses. I anticipate getting the same 4 filter kit from Kase, 95mm to work with the 14-30mm lens. I have other lenses and plan to purchase step up rings for them. Are there any concerns I should know about before I make the commitment. Thanks for sharing.

No more than two - I generally don't stack these filters very often

After much deliberation I finally decided to go with these Kase filters too. Haven't shot with them yet, but I did notice that my 3 stop and 6 stop filters had significantly weaker magnetism than the other filters (10 stop, and CPL being the strongest because it has the thickest ring). Same results across multiple adapter rings. Did anyone else experience this? I've sent those 2 filters back to be replaced, hopefully it's just a fluke!

@@KarenVaisman1 yes I did! I don’t remember the details exactly, but it was either a problem w individually purchased filters, or with some of the kit options. I think the place I purchased from swapped out some filters from a full kit and sent those to me as a replacement. The replacements work great. There is a code printed in the rings and the one indicated a bad batch-I would have to look that up for you later in photos at home. I do still find my “lens cap” to be a little weak, esp if you stack filters, it can get knocked off in your camera bag, but I don’t use it too often.
Following up: the printing on the updated filters have the code "BJH02" or BJG02" at the end. E.g., for a 6-stop filter, mine reads "Kase MAGNETIC KW-ND64 95mm BJH02". The filters with weak magnets did not have the "BJH02" at the end.
Hello James!! excuse me but I've been desperately searching without much luck. basically I am trying to find three type of filters that I can screw on individually and in combination in order to have flexibility. I know that the VND from primslens fx does have a frontal screw on it, but now I need a CPL with frontal screw and eventually a blackmist filter with frontal screw on it as well, so I can combine them as I like or as I said, use them Individually... I mean, is this even a thing or is it simply not possible to do it or why is there so little information about it... However if theres a magnetic alternative like yours, that would be awesome, I just dont find enough info about the topic of filter stacking in general so please, if someone can help me out I'd aprreciate it a lot!
So I purchased the Kase kit 1 on Amazon. I realized they have a kase kit 2. Not sure what the difference is between the kits. Can you explain?

Hi. very informative video. Im actualy leaning towards purshasing this kit to my IRIX Firefly 15mm. It has 95mm thread so I should get the 95mm kit obviosly. But with these kits you cant use the Lens hood anymore? Is that an issue or is the filters so well coated that they prevent any flare to enter the camera? 2:nd question. If I want to use the 95mm filters on my canon 17-40mm lens with 77mm tread I simply buy the 77mm ring for 95mm filters ? //Mikael
Yes you won't be able to use Lens Hood. You'll just need to get he kase 77mm to 95mm adapter. Good Luck

Hey James I have a question. I'm looking at getting the exact set of filters you have but mainly shoot with a 24-105 and 100-400 that are both 77mm for my landscapes. I'm mainly getting the 95mm set in case I get the Sony 14-24 that is an 82mm thread. I was curious if you found the 95mm cumbersome, like getting things in and out of your pack or if it just doesn't bother you at all. Any downsides besides no more lens hoods? Thanks, and great video!
Hi Mark, go with the 95mm, it will save you from Vignette at 14mm. I don't find its large size any real issue really. The kase pouch is very small and as far as i'm aware a standard size. So smaller filters don't actually save any space anways. Only downside is lack of lens hoods as you say but that's only a minor concern. You will love them 👍
Hi James, love your content! Quick question. I have the Nikon z setup with 14-30 and 24-70 f4 as you do and purchased the 95mm kase filters per your recommendation. I love their ease of use as you described but my cpl does not seem to turn easily when placed on the lens step up ring. Have you noticed this? The cpl scrapes the the ring when I try to turn it? Am I missing something?
Hi Dawn, there is some resistance when turning buts thats to be expected as its fighting the resistance of the magnetic attraction which is keeping it in place. It's nothing to worry about in my experience :-)
Does it matter what order you stack the filters? For example CPL and then ND filter or ND filter and then CPL.
Not really in my experience
James, do you know if the polarizer of the K9 filter system is compatible with the magnetic filters? Reason I ask is I don't really use the K9 filter holder. I just use the polarizer on the magnetic adapter ring. And since I don't use any grads anymore I'm thinking of replacing my grads with magnetic ND filters and leave my K9 holder at home.
I don't know the answer to that as I've never used the k9 system. I'd recommend dropping a Kase an email to check
I have a question regarding ND filter size, since I have only one lens which is 24-70 F/4 S lens, I bought a 72mm ND10 filter from NiSi. My concern is should I keep buying 72mm size or bigger size filter (eg., 82mm or 77mm) with an adaptor ring for my future lense? Thank you so much in advance for your feedback.
That really depends if you intend to buy a wide angle lens like the 14-30 - if you do, then you would need to buy filters for the biggest lens. Plan for the widest lens you have, then use stop down rings from there.
