This was a great week! Just in time for the Holidays! Much love to you guys for always coming back and supporting what I do. It means the world to me. Happy Holidays! 🎅🎅🎅
First of all thanks for all you do!!! Your podcast always gets me through alot of stress!!! Happy holidays!!!👊🏻🎅🎃 also, I think it is so cool that there is a Video store still open in Canada!! And even cooler the owner wrote and stars in a movie about video stores!!!!😊😎 im older so I miss the days of looking at covers in videos stores!! CANT wait for that interview with the owner and star of “Last video Store!!!😊☠️
I wish someone would make a horror movie thats as heart pounding as the first 10mins of 28 weeks later but for the whole movie haha My whole life that opening scene was the best bit of horror ever captured for a film.
Now I can't say it's as action packed but... you really need to watch The Coffee Table my friend. No joke it's that intense. At least it was for many people. Don't miss it.
So Black Summer really scratched that intensity itch. I also think it’s short format helped it be more intense. Season 2 had a very good ending and an epic long shot towards the end that was just. Art. I highly suggest it!
I worked at a Blockbuster in college. Pretty much the perfect high school and college job. T3 was disappointing to me. I thought the gore was a step down from 2. And let be honest, why else do you watch? I think I gave it a 6/10. Heretic was really good for the first 2 acts, then it flew off the rails, off the cliff, down a ravine, and exploded in a fiery crash. It still got a 7/10, but it was easily trending toward 9 or 9.5 before the final act.
@btvcast it just got too silly with the harem and the body switching and I feel the tonal shift undermined the genuine tension that had been building. It was so well written, which is rare for horror, and instead of keeping it grounded the whole way through, they gave it the Barbarian treatment. And what does Hugh do for 360 days a year when no one shows up to his house? He can't be getting visitors too often.
I heard nothing but positive buzz for Heretic and it didn't let me down. As someone who is a believer but also a horror fan, i thought it was wonderfully thought provoking, tense, and creepy.

Hey Scott! You too!
My FAVORITE Takashi Miike film is The Happiness of the Katakuris. A zombie musical comedy with bizarre claymation interludes. Highly recommend!

I didn't get that from Heretic. I'm guessing you were hoping it was what he thought?
