I started with a pair of mourning geckos in a 15gal vivarium about three years ago. For the first 2.5 years, the babies never survived more than a month. However, since adding some dense-coverage plants, I've had at least one juvenile get too big for the adults to cannibalize. In my experience, then, the geckos control their own population per conditions in the enclosure.

Fun fact, on the island of Kauai day geckos were multiplying out of control and were a pest to homeowners as there excrement would build up everywhere and was very hard to remove once dried. By chance the Madagascar gecko got introduced through a shipment to a nursery or something but years later they established themselves, now both geckos live on the island but day geckos can't multiply as fast and don't get to dominate the high regions of homes anymore as the larger Madagascar geckos run that turf.

You are good at narrating and editing videos. 👍❤️ They are beautiful gecko's. I am glad you are taking good care of them. It's a big responsibility. I too use to have lots of pets, reptiles and birds as well as farm animals. My mom and I kept spiders too. We loved them. My family are farmers and ranchers. I was taught how to live off the land and be a native American as well as a British Scottish. My father is native American and African and my mother was Asian and Scottish British. I am proud of my mixed cultures. Animals have been a big part of my life because I was raised in a mixed cultured family. Also, we have the same gecko's in the wild in my area. They sometimes come inside and I have to rescue them and release them somewhere safe. They are very quick and eat bugs. I catch bugs and cut them up, make them into a mooch to feed to the geckos before I release them on a tree in the front of my apartment. It's a perfect spot for them. I love how tiny they are but they are capable of surviving in the wild. ☺️❤️ There's been several gecko's that didn't want to leave me but I setup a trail of bug goo and they weren't aware I left. I don't want to take wildlife out of the wild. I can find a gecko breeder if I want to have them as pets. I will keep rescuing them as long as I am capable. 👍 I respect the earth and what it provides. ❤️ We only have one Earth and one lifetime.
