    One thing I don't care for with my Cardo setup for my family of 4 is that you can't share music to all 4 headsets. You can only share one set to another. Not a huge deal but it would be great. You can actually buy an Bluetooth/FM Transmitter and play music for all for using the FM radio on the headsets but it's a bit of a hassle.

    Thanks for posting. I’ve wondered about being able to communicate with my buddies out on the trail. We ride mainly in California from dumont over to south sequoia and up as far as mammoth. It’d be nice to have coms. Also, where was this filmed? Very pretty trails.

    Looks pretty interesting, I have purchased rugged radios for my Kawasaki KRX and they were pretty expensive not to mention the installation cost. When I sold it the guy got the setup. He wanted my headsets but I said no that I was keeping them, he got a very good deal on my KRX.

      Yeah, same story with our talon and XRC. One of the biggest benefits of the cardo systems. -Joe

      The sad thing is 90% of the time I'm riding solo. STOP, I know that's breaking the #1 golden rule. So the higher cost of the rugged radio system for me is not feasible! ☹️☹️ Other wise I would spend the $$$$ just did 675 miles solo across the Arizona Strip. With earplugs can still hear my toons!!

    Looks like a great system.
    Can it Bluetooth to the GoPro?
    I've been thinking it's in our future to add coms.

    Looking at their web site left me with a few questions, First, on the web site they say they are Bluetooth devices and then show they are FM. If a person with another brand of communication wants to talk with you is that possible if you're on the same Freq? Is the bluetooth part to connect to your phone? Then looking at the Packtalk edge, is it correct to say you can have it on your helmet, and then take it off of the helmet and put it on the headset when you don't want to wear a HOT helmet? Another subject.......I'm wanting to get a Dirt Warriors windshield, I missed their sale the first of the year. My unit just came in and thats the first thing I want to buy for it. (Other than insurance, gas, etc.) So can you get the sale price or do I have to wait for another sale, and how would I order through you guys? I know you'd like the credit.

    • @DerangedOffRoad
      @DerangedOffRoad  Год назад +1

      Yes they’re Bluetooth and from what we understand you can link them to other brand devices. They actually have FM radio on them. Yes it has a clip system that you can move the unit from the helmet to the headset. We don’t currently have a sale going on but you can order a windshield here from us. We include shipping already as well.

    How much did you spend on the system? My issue has been with the overall cost.

      I bought 4 Packtalk Bold for about $800 + 2 of the headsets for about $250. So ~$1050 for my family for the older Bold (as opposed to the new Edge).

    • @Saltshaker2016
      @Saltshaker2016 Год назад

      I’ve been looking for a system that allows me to talk freely with my passengers without bothering my buddies car but can easily switch frequencies so they can hear us if car to car Communication is necessary, or just keep everyone on the same frequency if desired.

    My concern is the cost. Is this another FOD sport that sucks or is this comparable to rugged or utv comm. I don’t want to buy this and be setback on the com department again.

    • @DerangedOffRoad
      @DerangedOffRoad  Год назад +1

      The FOD sports and other Chinese units are poor quality. I think one or two of our 6 still work. Cardo has been around for a long time and are much higher quality. If you have multiple units or ride dirt bikes as well, cardo is the way to go. If you have one unit, and don’t mind pulling and reinstalling comms if/when you sell, UTVCOM/PCI/rugged are a great option as well. -Joe

      I took the plunge and bought the packtalk edge. First run there was a noticeable lag between when my passenger spoke and when I could hear them on the edge. That was if I could hear them at all sometimes the mic was only picking up bits and pieces. For the price I’d say I’m disappointed so far. I’ll give them a few more runs but it looks like a slightly better FOD sport so far.

      @theingobeck4772 Год назад +1

      @Darryl Houpt Something is wrong with your individual setup. Getting the earspeakers in the right place is kind of a pain sometimes. Also, in a SXS the headsets work awesome for blocking the noise.

    • @darrylhoupt3763
      @darrylhoupt3763 Год назад

      Head sets probably would work better but everywhere we ride requires helmets. I will admit I have a severe hearing deficit and thought cardo would be the ticket. I think my ear peices are perfectly placed.
