I recently purchased a CM 5020. Works great. Easy installation. Up at 40 Ft

I have an older antenna. And today I use a multimeters set just to hear if I had a signal path.( set on continuity setting) I was wondering how these roof top antennas work .Does the aluminum square tube collect all the vibrations and electrical vhf & uhf signals from the (cross way) elements. So I had a couple fasteners to the elements that were rusted that didn't have a clear path for the RF signal anymore. I called those dead elements, unless I drill out the old rivet ant put in a clean new one that will conduct current flow. I would of thought ( of coarse I have no idea what brand it is ) but it did have that yellow sticker. they would of used fasteners that wouldn't rust.

I live in northeastern Iowa, will accumulations of ice/snow degrade the reception capabilities on this outdoor UHF/VHF antenna?

The wires are touching the frame.

Why would you pick this over a Solid Signal HG8200XL?

Its more efficient & the VHF section has a truss insulator over/ under phase system for longevity. Solidsignal version crossphase single insulators wont last near as long

I am considering HD8200U or CM-5020, any comments? What do you think of this?

Get the CM 3018 its under rated & will do what you need!

Yo your killing me Smalls , loosen your hardware to mount on post and put a wire tie around the post so the antenna won't slide down the post!!
