Gosh, this is interesting. Much credit to her for commissioning and recording such exquisite new music. She has never just rested on her many laurels and kept performing and recording the standard repertoire. I hope at least some of the 27 pieces do have a life beyond this recording.
I believe that it is the duty of all performers to carry out such projects. The greatest performers in the past used to present the music of their era. We have become the only era that lives only on what the old presented, without caring about the wonderful composers around us. It is also important for the performer, as he actually recognizes the importance of cooperation with the composer in terms of interpretation It is a deep intellectual work and puts the performer in front of new questions that he does not ask when it is either a work that has been performed thousands of times..well done Hilary Hahn
There are many bloated reputations and grand egos among soloists but Hilary Hahn is not one of those. What a great musician with integrity and vision. Very clear-headed and straightforward. I'm glad to support such a performer! Thanks Mrs. Hahn for your personality as well as your musicianship!

You can't even know how amazing this one is. It is off-the-chain genius. And I mean absolute, and utter genius. Its experimental, classical, haunting, romantic, funny, absolutely every conceivable human emotion put to music. I don't think we can fully know the importance of this for some time coming. All I can say is just musical genius. So many angles. I ABSOLUTELY stand at attention for all involved in this project. You are all geniuses. . .

it is the best performance of the work, PERIOD. Just check out any violinist you know, established ones or new ones (like the guy from Korea). None are even in the same galaxy.

An Encore Encore tour is very much needed! The Kennedy Center performance in 2013 was positively breathtaking.
