if you ever dig into the Uncle Charles story it gets kinda suspect... Charles was murdered and that's all i'm going to say about what happened to uncle Charles.
I was just thinking about this time frame. I was born in 81 so my formidable years were around this time. What's really strange is the amount of deaths coming from the music industry during that time. 94 kurt Cobain 95 Jerry Garcia and Eazy E, 96 Tupac, 97 Biggie.
My daughter's and I love BTNH. I fell in love with these guys back when they were blowing up and my middle daughter has seen then live twice. I'm 56 now and still rock BTNH.
Bone Thugs are an anomaly. You can listen to the song ten times and pick out words here and there, but as soon as you see the lyrics, everything is completely clear. True talent signed by the late Eazy E.
My son who is 35 now loved them. He could out rap everyone on their songs. He has been in a rock/metal band for years but he still tells everyone that Bone Thugs and Harmony are the best. He actually went and saw them perform last September, he was like his 15-year-old self again.
I'm 41, and I feel exactly the same way. I actually saw them again a couple of years ago, and got them all to sign my shirt. They seemed dumb founded that a guy like me was singing along and had been a fan for 25 years.
The part that you thought they said hell these are the lyrics...Living in a hateful world sending me straight to heaven That's how we roll Living in a hateful world sending me straight to heaven That's how we roll Living in a hateful world sending me straight to heaven That's how we roll And I'm asking the good lord with a sigh It's I he told me we live to die
The Crossroads was considered the end of Earth and the beginning of Heaven. The Angels stayed there helping those who were passing over the Crossroads across from Earth to Heaven.
well now you gotta listen/react to “breakdown” by mariah carey and bone thugs...she sings the same way they rap...and it’s one of her best and underrated songs IMO
I rediscovered that song after a bad breakup. I had never bothered to learn what Mariah's lyrics were at all. Holy shit is that a way more powerful song than I ever gave it credit for.
Me in the 90s as a kid a was a bif trouble maker. Always getting grounded. Reason why I love and am a huge fan of BTNH because I spent a lot of time grounded no TV no radio no nothing weeks long stuck in my room. Only entertainment I had was my neighbor blasting BTNH in his house and I could hear it through the windows. Memorized scoo many of their songs. My #1 all time rap group

Uncle Charles is Wish Bone’s uncle on his mamas side. He always encouraged the group to keep going. Apparently he was set up and killed with his own gun by what stories I’ve read call his “male partner”.
According to SongFacts: This song was dedicated to Eazy-E (real name: Eric Wright), a rapper and music mogul who was a member of the group NWA. He died of AIDS in 1995; Bone Thugs-N-Harmony were signed to his label, Ruthless Records. Now whether that's correct or not is up for debate.
This song hit when I was in high school and I remember it felt like a bomb it was so incredible. The sound was so unique. This one & No Diggity by Blackstreet were huge. Still never heard anything like either of them. Gs.
I remember when this came out, it was super popular. It was one of only a couple rap albums I owned then. I hadn’t yet been able to expand my brain to really understand most of the genre but this one and waterfalls by TLC hit me like a couple of bricks. I also lost several people I cared about right then. I remember the MTV music awards they gave an award posthumously to Notorious BIG and his mom accepted the award. Then everyone kept making references to ‘seeing you at the crossroads’. I really liked the way they rap - the cadence of the words and just sort of a distinctive sound to me. I still have this album on my iTunes.

I thought I’d heard everything, but I haven’t heard the rock remix. I was talking about the original, which I am listening to right now, and it’s pretty good.
The one line I remember from this song is, "And How I'm Gonna Miss My Uncle Joe". In the music video, Uncle Joe is the elderly man playing checkers, whose life was taken by The Angel Of Death. In the music video, they inserted video footage of the late Easy-E, on the way to the top of the mountain with all of the other dead spirits, as The Angel Of Death leads them off to Heaven.
One of the members of Bone Thugs, Wish Bone, is named Charles. He also had an uncle Charles that passed away. That's what that part of the song is referring to.
