He is so spot on with how the mind works is fascinating to hear and it just clicks something inside is aware that this is the behavior that causes suffering constantly listening to the projections of the mind ruins even a sunny day.
@myview4u2think (posting this here too) If your personal mind is telling you that you shouldn't have desires, that's renunciation. That's your personal mind telling you in order to be okay, you have to give up desires. It's a desire to give up desires. And if you follow this line of thinking it can have unintended consequences like you mentioned in the other comment. The highest technique Mickey discusses is to relax and release. When you have the thought about how you shouldn't have desires, relax and let go of the thought. Some uncomfortable emotions may come up as a result. Let them come up. Just sit with the uncomfortableness and allow it. Don't let your mind grab onto it. It will pass.
How to handle ongoing conflict where what’s happening is still happening? Maybe he answers this but I didn’t catch it. Will someone point to an answer on this. Thankyou.

He & all the great teachers/sages point to the mind (our thinking) as causing the conflict/suffering. It's OUR INTERPRETATION of 'what is' that causes suffering. We need to work with our minds/thoughts..
Jai Guru Dev, Jai Masters. Jai Guru Dev is a traditional Hindu phrase that means Glory to the Great Teacher (the most accurate translation would be glory to the shining remover of darkness), where the great teacher here is generally considered to be the Divine Soul, while we, as human beings, are considered the individuated Soul. Jai Masters means Glory to the Masters, some of whom Singer refers to at times.
